Altitude On Montville

Reviews looked great. the photos looked great. Very disappinted after first night, couldn't get hot water in the morning or next 2 nights for a shower, was barely warm. Messaged the hotel about it and had no response. Had to deal. 😡 I've been at cheaper hotels that provide soap and hair wash. For the price of this place, i thought they would, but bottles were empty... Random spider webs near the stares, have been there for a while.

Altitude on Montville is ideally set in Montville with plenty of parking however, it not for elderly people. We had a Forrest view room but had to climb 3 flights of stairs hauling up our luggage into the bargain. First appearance was of a quiet spacious apartment with lots of kitchen cupboards, a fridge, oven and coffee machine. BUT. NO CUTLERY OR CROCKERY OR COOKING UTENSILS. NO POTS OR PANS, OR MICROWAVE. Just a couple of wine glasses, 2 teaspoons and 2 mugs. Oh and the shower gel bottle was empty! It was clean and the bed was comfortable. Very poor value for money. Oh, and when I went to leave the key at reception, a lady saw me open to door and turned her back and disappeared. Obviously didn't want to talk to me! Will we go back? No way

Absolutely incredible experience, my boyfriend and I stayed for 1 night in the ground floor spa studio, absolutely beautiful room, very clean and organised. Hot tub had an incredible view of the mountains, was right by the road but still had adequate privacy and peacefulness. Restaurant exceeded my expectations, amazing prices, amazing service (shoutout to the English waitress, thank you for making my boyfriend’s birthday so special), fantastic view. 0 complaints, incredible experience all round. (My boyfriend is South African and very picky, he was over the moon and thought it was the best weekend of his life)

We had a romantic couple of days at Altitude which we enjoyed as we found a lot of cafes etc were easily accessible.Our room was very comfy & spa bath great. However when we looked at the guest dressing gowns there was mold on them & dampness otherwise all ok

Here are the issues we had: 1. The studio rooms don't have doors, windows or any structure between the bathroom and the rest of the living area. No privacy. 2. Each day we had visits from the roach motel. Looks like time to fumigate. 3. The room setup was backwards. It was very dark, plus the lights in the room are the brightest bulbs in glass, so it's like looking at the sun. 4. The restaurant wasn't open, it's being sold, so don't bank on food being readily available. 5. Too expensive for what it was. I likely won't be back after the experience. 6. Is at the top of main street, not in the thick of things.

Have stayed here a couple of times now in a room with a spa. Beautiful spot with great views. Easy walk to pub, cafes and shops.

Booked two rooms for the whole family, was requesting a disable friendly room since my mum in law has hip dysplasia problem, staff was not helpful and inpatient, really unhappy with the staff attitude and service. One of spas was not working properly either.

The accommodation is fabulous and Staff are friendly and helpful. The restaurant is a must food is absolutely delicious and the staff are very friendly. The establishment is clean and is in very close walking distance to Montville village. We would highly recommend Altitude accommodation and restaurant.

As my dad's 50th birthday was approaching, I had to think of somewhere special we could stay. I then came across Altitude. We arrived in the 3rd week of Altitude being open for operation. All I can say is, the photos you see on the Altitude website and hotel booking websites, are identical to the product you receive. I booked a 2 bedroom apartment and a single room suite. The two bedroom apartment was spacious, had a large living area and a fantastic view of the hinterland and ocean. The suite didn't have a large living area, but had a couch which you could sit in front of the fire place and a spa on the balcony which is simply to-die-for. The complementary chocolate, fudge, port and bottles of water in the suite are a very nice touch. I simply can't fault this place. The rooms are absolutely beautiful and unique, the staff feel like a family and are very approachable, and the location is perfect. If you're coming to montville, give Altitude a try.
