Altitude On Montville

My friend and I stayed at this hotel recently and while the location is excellent. We stayed in a disability access room and appreciated the effort to provide accessibility. However, the bathroom drainage was not good. The floor was completely level, which I understand is part of the design for accessibility, but unfortunately, the water didn’t flow easily toward the drain. After a shower, water would pool on the floor and take a long time to drain, which made it uncomfortable and potentially unsafe. I had to place towels on the floor to help keep it dry. I hope the hotel can improve the drainage design in accessible rooms to ensure both safety and comfort for all guests.I hope the hotel can improve the drainage design in accessible rooms to ensure both safety and comfort for all guests.This seems like a design issue that could be improved to make the bathroom more functional and hygienic for guests.This might seem like a small issue, but it really affected the overall cleanliness and convenience of the stay. Nice view and clean room. I had difficulty with the website and accidentally booked two rooms and was refunded without any trouble. There is no lift but the man at reception carried my very heavy bag. The bathroom was a bit quirky as it was open on two sides and had two showers. There was a blind that you could pull down between the bedroom and the bath room. There was a spa bath on the veranda but we did not use it. There was quite a bit of traffic noise, but it calmed down at about 8pm. Otherwise, the room was quiet and we did not hear our neighbours.

Stayed here for two days for my wedding. We received a call a few days before the booking to say that a fire had occurred in the fire place but it was covered over. The venue provided us with a reasonable discount as they had no other rooms available however, when we arrived the whole external wall onto the balcony had been damaged and was plastic sheeted. All three bedrooms + living area were dusty and windows dirty with cobwebs and mould from outside. The ensuite bathroom bin hadn't been replaced and was filled with used sanitary products from previous guests. Members of our wedding party in two other rooms also reported similar issues with dusty and cobwebs. The property was contacted with this feedback but did not respond.

Altitude is presented online as luxury. In its day, probably was. Unfortunately, the service and cleanliness make rooms grubby and venue tired. Restaurant only operates limited times, no daily access for breakfast. No lux extras as advertised. Considerable road noise. Not value as compared to other local accommodation.

The double room was great - spacious, clean and modern. Particularly the walk in shower and the spa. Comfy bed. Only downsides were that the room was quite dark, so difficult to get ready in, and the reception service was not very friendly or helpful. I also think they should have more of a connection with Montvale when you have wedding guests stay there to make it easier for them, such as earlier check in times.

This place is fine. Rooms are okay. The wifi and reception is garbage. That really needs to be addressed. Download things to watch prior to going. To get to our room after dark we had to go down and up a steep driveway that has no lighting. Pitch black

We were absolutely blown away by the super accomodating service here during our function. We could not recommend this place enough to anyone looking for an above and beyond experience with outstanding service in a beautiful venue.

As my dad's 50th birthday was approaching, I had to think of somewhere special we could stay. I then came across Altitude. We arrived in the 3rd week of Altitude being open for operation. All I can say is, the photos you see on the Altitude website and hotel booking websites, are identical to the product you receive. I booked a 2 bedroom apartment and a single room suite. The two bedroom apartment was spacious, had a large living area and a fantastic view of the hinterland and ocean. The suite didn't have a large living area, but had a couch which you could sit in front of the fire place and a spa on the balcony which is simply to-die-for. The complementary chocolate, fudge, port and bottles of water in the suite are a very nice touch. I simply can't fault this place. The rooms are absolutely beautiful and unique, the staff feel like a family and are very approachable, and the location is perfect. If you're coming to montville, give Altitude a try.
