After trying (and failing) to get into some of Rome’s popular restaurants, we ended up dining at Alto, our hotel’s restaurant. The food turned out to be surprisingly good. The oysters were large and fresh, though definitely on the pricey side. The pasta offered an artistic twist on authentic recipes, which was enjoyable. Overall, it’s a good option—especially if you don’t feel like venturing out—but at the end of the day, it is still a hotel restaurant.
