Hotel Weisses Kreuz – Style Meets Space Limitations
Hotel Weisses Kreuz makes an excellent first impression. The check-in experience is warm, polished, and genuinely welcoming—exactly what you hope for when arriving at a boutique hotel. The common areas are thoughtfully designed, and it’s clear that a lot of care has gone into creating a modern, lifestyle-forward atmosphere.
Unfortunately, the room itself did not live up to that promise.
The assigned room was extremely small and faced an internal shaft, which meant no real daylight or view. While the hotel clearly tried to compensate with design elements—such as a hanging chair and a luggage bench styled as a “sofa”—these touches feel more cosmetic than functional. In practice, you are forced to choose between placing your luggage on the bench or using it as seating. Both are basic necessities in a hotel room, and combining them does not solve the underlying issue of insufficient space.
A hanging chair, while visually appealing, does not make up for a room that lacks proper square footage or comfort for a guest staying more than a night. Clever styling cannot replace practical layout, natural light, or the ability to move comfortably within the room.
In summary:
✔ excellent and friendly check-in
✔ stylish public areas
✖ very small rooms
✖ internal shaft view
✖ design solutions that prioritize aesthetics over usability
Hotel Weisses Kreuz may work for travelers who value design and plan to spend very little time in their room. However, guests who expect comfort, light, and functional space should be cautious when booking and inquire carefully about room categories
