We spent three nights at Hotel Wolf-Dietrich from January 4–7 while visiting Salzburg, and our experience was exceptional. The location is ideal, and the family room in the residence was perfect for our four adult children—spacious, comfortable, and well laid out.
What truly set this hotel apart, however, was the staff. On the morning of our 4:00 a.m. departure, my son discovered his passport was missing. The staff immediately stepped in, calling the American Embassy (which was closed at that hour) and then the police station, doing everything they could to help in a very stressful situation.
Unfortunately, my son and I had to miss our flight. When we returned to the hotel around 6am, the staff graciously allowed me to use my room until 11:00 a.m. even though I had already checked out. They went above and beyond by helping me complete and print the paperwork needed for an emergency passport—an enormous help during an overwhelming morning.
Between 4:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., the entire team was incredibly kind, patient, and accommodating. We later traveled to Vienna to visit the American Consulate, and in an unexpected turn of events, the tour company found my son’s passport the very next day and emailed the Consulate just as we were at the counter. The consulate staff recognized his name, and we were able to return to Salzburg to retrieve it!
Thank you to everyone at Hotel Wolf-Dietrich—you truly went above and beyond. I would 100% recommend staying here and would not hesitate to return.
