We spent three nights at Hotel Wolf-Dietrich from January 4–7 while visiting Salzburg, and our experience was exceptional. The location is ideal, and the family room in the residence was perfect for our four adult children—spacious, comfortable, and well laid out. What truly set this hotel apart, however, was the staff. On the morning of our 4:00 a.m. departure, my son discovered his passport was missing. The staff immediately stepped in, calling the American Embassy (which was closed at that hour) and then the police station, doing everything they could to help in a very stressful situation. Unfortunately, my son and I had to miss our flight. When we returned to the hotel around 6am, the staff graciously allowed me to use my room until 11:00 a.m. even though I had already checked out. They went above and beyond by helping me complete and print the paperwork needed for an emergency passport—an enormous help during an overwhelming morning. Between 4:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., the entire team was incredibly kind, patient, and accommodating. We later traveled to Vienna to visit the American Consulate, and in an unexpected turn of events, the tour company found my son’s passport the very next day and emailed the Consulate just as we were at the counter. The consulate staff recognized his name, and we were able to return to Salzburg to retrieve it! Thank you to everyone at Hotel Wolf-Dietrich—you truly went above and beyond. I would 100% recommend staying here and would not hesitate to return.

A small, charming hotel in Salzburg's old town. Receptionist Mr. Jürgen gave a warm welcome, explained everything clearly, and offered recommendations. All the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was small but excellent, with everything you could wish for. The breakfast room was lovely and tastefully decorated

Haven't had a beautiful breakfast like the one served here for ages! Thank you for taking the time to make it so special. We both found the inn charming. Loved the fresh arrangements and the staff definitely all took pride in their work. Room was clean and big enough for the two of us to move around. Location was great for getting anywhere we needed to be and also great for just staying close to hotel.

Great location in Salzburg, walking distance to fantastic restaurants and shopping. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The family that runs the hotel is very nice and helpful; they recommended great restaurants and helped us navigate to the sights. Would absolutely stay here again. Thanks for a great weekend.

I spent two nights here and loved the charm and warmth of this family run small hotel. Anton was always present and so kind and helpful. I was traveling alone and felt very comfortable there. He suggested a great antique shop in Grodig and I had so much fun buying treasures from Petra, the owner. The hotels decor and architectural details were lovely. Breakfast was a fabulous variety of carefully presented fresh items in a beautiful room. The location is perfect for Salzburgs attractions in charming old town. Walkable to countless shops, restaurants and around the corner from|Mozartplatz and the Stunnjng Fortress. Highly recommend a stay here!!

We stayed here for three nights and loved it! The hotel is family owned for generations. Interiors are sophisticated but not stuffy. Rooms have modern furnishings and amenities with a thoughtful design. Custom cabinetry with plenty of storage and the charm of a historic building. The staff is friendly & helpful - the atmosphere is welcoming and pleasant.

Let’s start with service. Which was an outstanding engagement. All queries were answered very promptly …… like when I asked for the breakfasts to be switched late in the night of arrival, it was done with no fuss. Location is Alstadt very convenient for all the visits to the old city. Cannot get better. And now to the downer the room, room 10. All seems nice but from a functional point of view left a lot to be desired. The shower and toilet are in each others space. When you shower you guarantee to have wet feet when you use the loo. And the water doesn’t go way after some time. Need to use towels to dry this up. The room had aircon but was in a constant battle to overcome the heated flooring which I tired every google trick to shut down to no avail. The result was that the room was uncomfortably warm. I chose booking.com and probably got the room I paid for but will probably stick to Amex in future as with most of my bookings.

This is a fabulous place to stay in Salzburg. You are literally 35 m from the Mozart statue and write in the center of all that is wonderful. The staff was so nice… The rooms respect the 500 year tradition of the hotel but yet they are modern at the same time. Everything was so nice and clean…Danke fur alles ! The breakfast though was incredible. And the staff at the breakfast was all dressed up in traditional outerwear.
