Outstanding music. Best live jazz I’ve heard in a long time. Went to two shows on different nights. 5 Euros cover charge is ridiculously cheap. Cocktails were excellent. Intimate setting. Local music school draws and feeds professional talent. Go!

Super great selection of drinks, beautiful ambience, and friendly staff. They can make changes to customize cocktails from the menu. The variety of seating is also great.

One of the best jazz clubs in Spain. Wonderful atmosphere, fantastic music, very friendly staff, great wine, and excellent cocktails. We spent five days in San Sebastián and came here every single evening. If you want to enjoy your night in the best possible way, this outstanding place is for you.

We loved this club so much we came here twice during a five-day stay in San Sebastián. The drinks are great. The environment of the club is superb. And the music is just wow. We saw two different bands, and were enthralled with the quality of the sound and the brilliance of the players. I can’t recommend Altxerri highly enough!

We also discovered a really cool chill-out area tucked away in the back—perfect if you're looking for a more intimate corner to relax or have a quiet conversation without missing the atmosphere. Honestly, it's rare to find a spot that nails the atmosphere, music, and service all at once—but this club does exactly that. A wonderful bar with great drinks, lovely staff and wonderful music. Was let down by an American woman who told us she was a regular, tried to make us move seats and repeatedly scolded us for the slightest noise. Ruined the freedom and enjoyment that jazz should come with, and made it seem pompous rather than really about enjoying the music.

A gorgeous, cool and friendly jazz bar in the city centre. Classic basement with diverse areas to enjoy. The music is primary. Gigs start around 19:30. Terrific musicians who really swing. Open until late. A very special bar and venue.
