The warm service that started from the jetty office in Kuala Besut, to the warm welcome and introduction at the resort, right up to the farewell , really contributed to our family's great stay here in Alunan. |The room was nice, plenty of space for everyone too (we stayed in a quadruple room), despite the walk up to the room (NOT recommended for senior citizens)|The trip guides, boat captains were very friendly too. the Captain even made recommendation n took us to Teluk Keke, when our snorkelling trip was cancelled due to earlier choppy waters. |The coral guardians were very kind to share with us so much about corals, and entertaining all our questions. |the F&B Staffs too were happy people. so it made the food n drinks all the yummier||We will defintely be back, in better weather season! Thank you for a wonderful holiday !

We had a wonderful stay at this island resort. The staff were really helpful during the stay, especially during check-in and -out, since we were traveling with elderly family members and four kids. They made everything easy and smooth.||The food was good, and the snorkeling trip was well-organized. It was also great that we could snorkel right off the beach thanks to their coral program. Kids are excited to see baby sharks around the resort jetty area. ||This time around, we went with the bed and breakfast option because our kids are still young, but next time, we’ll probably go for the all-inclusive package as it seems my kids were able to adapt to the excursion trips given the larger boats. Overall, we had a great time and hope to come back soon.

Actually I stay at a hotel right next to Alunan but I had food at Alunan everyday. It was very good! But the thing THAT IMPRESSED ME is the staff's kindness and honesty. I left my purse and all the money I had for the trip inside at a recreational room at Alunan. After nearly a day I realized the truth, I asked the staff at Alunan and yeah they kept it and waited for its owner. That really saved my whole experience in Malaysia . Thank you so very much!!!

Overall my stay was great. Staff were friendly and helpful and even took me on a solo snorkeling trip. However, as it was close to the time of closing the resort for the monsoon season, there were very few people at the resort and by the end of my stay the staff were clearly packing up and ready for their well earnt break. The room TV system didn't work and the wifi was not good in my room so watching movies at night had to be done in the restaurant. The food was limited when you stayed 6 nights and the advertised timing of the 2 resetaurants was not what was available. However, the staff knew me by the end of the trip and looked after me very well. |The snorkelling was amazing and it was such a treat to see so many different sea creatures. The team on the tours were great, even talking my GoPro down to catch a picture of the green sea turtle!|I would go again but I would probably go in June or July when the resort was busier and everyting open as advertised.

Our flight out of KL to Kuala Terrengannu was delayed. We were going to miss our boat ride to the Perhentians. We were quite upset. But the way the Alunan resort and the staff handled the whole thing was a case study in travel and hospitality. We showed up at the Kuala Besutt office and were warmly welcomed. Soon we were led to the Jetty and our things were loaded up on to a more ‘public’ but immensely comfortable transfer. |Once we reached Alunan it was just magic. This was an all inclusive trip and so we made the most of it with their snorkeling trips, sea turtle viewing and the sunset cruise. Being coral and environment friendly is a theme that pervades everything at Alunan. We had a chance to visit the coral Lab and see the fantastic conservation work that they are doing. The marine biologists patiently explained the work they are doing to grow corals in the lab. The snorkeling trip was great. We felt safe and cared for. Alunan ensured that we escaped the sometime crowded areas. |The room was very comfortable. They give you an aluminum bottle that one can fill at the water cooler and use it for the whole stay. There were welcome snacks and a bag to carry our wet clothes around as complimentary. The wifi was good and the bathroom had toiletries that were reef safe. I learnt about reef safe sunscreens too. The swimming pool was good for lounging. The views from some of the rooms was spectacular. Our room had a terrace sit out with partial sea view which was up a flight of stairs. Even the lights in the pathways in the resort came on with a motion sensor. The straws were made of metal. The food was wonderfully prepared. The chef ensured that as a vegetarian I had adequate food choices. He came out and spoke to us.|The climb up and down is a bit steep but you soon get used to it. Watch out for mosquitoes as you are in the middle of a tropical island.|This is one of the best holidays we have ever had. The staff of Alunan are fantastic and caring.

We stayed at the pool view villas for our family holidays this year. The reservation staff, Laili, was very helpful and professional in arranging for our logistics for our party of 12. Everything went well with the airport transfer and ferry to the resort. The location is amazing with a fantastic view of the sea. However the resort is on a hillside so be ready for lots of stairs!|There are 2 restaurants but only one open at a time. Breakfast buffet is adequate but not lavish. The lunch menu has a good mix of local and western fare. Tea and dinner is at the seaside restaurant. Dinner is good with good options for seafood and meat platters. Pizzas are available if you need some snacks in the afternoon.|We took the all inclusive and the food options were okay. For those who drink alcohol though the options for wines is very limited and not to our taste at all. The F&B manager was accommodative and did provide some other wines for our party on the last day of our stay.|There were many excursions available and also coral adoption, batik painting. More than enough to keep busy if that’s what you want.|The pool was great but there is no real beach. You can get a water taxi to the nearby Long Beach for that. Overall it was a good holiday and the staff were very helpful and friendly throughout!

This has to be the most expensive trip we had in Malaysia but it worth every cent. The sea around the resort is clean and full of corals and marine life. We particularly miss the baby sharks that wandering around the jetty :)|And, the staffs are super friendly~

Booked All Inclusive package.|The staff were generally warm, both in kuala besut office and Perhentian island, there were a lot of stairs and very steep ramps to go to rooms.|The room we had is spacious and there are stairs that leads up to the balcony.nice view and can hang wet clothes to dry.|The package includes unlimited food and beverage, no in room dining. The food is average overall, we didn't get to have western/Italian food for dinner due to the weather, the restaurant was closed.Wonder why can't they just cook at the main kitchen(Bayu restaurant). So we sort of lose out here. However, we did get to have it on the last night there, once out of 3 nights. The teh tarik at bayu restaurant was nice.|Our package included unlimited snorkeling trips too, the trips are twice a day, with different islands for each trip.Unfortunately in Sept, the weather was bad, 🌧 every evening .Snorkeling trip and sunset cruise were cancelled. So we did batik painting, played congkak, foosball, adopt corals and just hang out at the beach. Oh, glass bottom tour is highly recommended as we get to see and have better understanding on the corals.|In summary, we enjoyed our time in Perhentian but I don't think that the package is worth it if you go in Sept. Especially if you don't take alcoholic drinks.
