Alvear Art Hotel (Buenos Aires, Argentina) 4 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Here’s the surprising thing about the Alvear Art Hotel: in a town whose boutique hoteliers are all too often blind to everything beyond the visual, the Alvear is about as well-rounded a hotel as you’ll find anywhere, in Buenos Aires or otherwise. It’s proof that white walls and stripped-down rooms alone do not a “design hotel” make; function is as crucial as form. It’s a gorgeous hotel, to be sure — its airy, free-flowing public spaces all happy conspiracies of fine art, sunlight and gleaming marble — but it’s also a hotel where the rooms are quiet, the beds are dreamy and the bathrooms are big and bright. And where a concierge in a pressed black suit can point you to a good nearby bar or an up-and-coming restaurant without making you feel like you shouldn’t have to ask." - Tablet Hotels

This hotel goes above and beyond when it comes to customer service. The team are extremely helpful especially Nikoletta who ensured we enjoyed our breakfast each day and assisted us in securing restaurant reservations as we only speak English. The rooms are very comfortable with ample wardrobe space and seperate bath and shower. A night room service as well as morning. My husband fell ill and the team went above and beyond to extend our stay and to organise a Dr to do a hotel room consultation. We would highly recommend this hotel for all these reasons and the location was very central 👌

This is a very nice hotel. They take security seriously. You have to have your room card to get the elevator to go up to your floor. And you can't go to any other floor besides the one where your room is. The elevator itself is so smooth operating you're not even sure sometimes that it's moving. The staff was helpful, everyone that we talked to spoke English, which was important to me because my Spanish is not up to par. The shower was wonderful. You could have the water handheld or from the rain shower head in the ceiling. You can set the temperature it was amazing. They also have a Jacuzzi style bathtub. Had to give it a try, it was also wonderful. There's lots more to say, but you should discover them for yourselves when you visit

Great hotel. Spotless room. We had a bath with jets and a shower. Massive bed. BBC channel on TV. Umbrellas available from reception and we needed them.|Breakfast buffet was excellent although oddly you had to pay extra for an omelette or poached egg. Scrambled was free.|They put a hold of about £75 on our credit card for incidentals which we didn’t use. Still there now 24 hours after check out.|Bottled water was another tiny niggle. Chargeable after the initial 2 bottles.|The tap water was perfectly ok to drink.|Andres was a charming waiter at breakfast who kept my coffee flowing.|The pool on the 17th floor had good views of the city. Quite small but lovely and warm.|I would most certainly stay here again

Stayed here for a week - had an amazing experience! Jose at reception was very helpful and kindly gave me some recommendations on things to see in the neighborhood. My room was always cleaned on time and the provided anything extra that I asked for (eg a kettle). Overall great experience!

Great hotel! Great location! Phenomenal service! The wait and hospitality staff at Alvear Art were some of the best I’ve ever experienced. The location itself is very nice and the amenities and accommodations were top notch!

We stayed here pre cruise to Antartica. Nice neighborhood, several things to see within walking distance. The hotel beautiful, rooms are in good shape but dated. They have been updated through the years, but the lack of power outlets in this day and time needs to be addressed. A good brief stay.

I stayed at the Alvear Art Hotel for 5 days and 4 nights. I arrived to check-in around 10:00am on a Sunday. This was unavoidable because my flight departed Atlanta in the evening and arrived in Buenos Aires the next morning. I could wait 5 hours until check-in or pay a steep early check-in fee. After a 10-hour overnight flight and jet lag, I agreed to pay the fee. On my day of departure, my flight didn’t leave until 8:00pm. When I inquired about a late check-out, I was told that they could extend my check-out until 4:00pm for an additional half night’s stay. So in total, I paid for TWO half night’s stay: early check-in and late check out.||This is an average business hotel with a nice art collection. The restaurant offers a great breakfast buffet for an additional price. I enjoyed the breakfast on three occasions. But the fees greatly impacted my overall experience.

When I come to Buenos Aires, I always stay in Alvear Art. The experience is very good: the rooms, everything very clean, the restaurant is very good, the spaces... Very good the proportion of price and quality. IT is near of Teatro Colón and other interesting places.

Yelp
Alvear Art Hotel is a 5-star hotel located in the Centro neighborhood of the beautiful city of Buenos Aires. The hotel has a 5-star feeling when you walk in with marble and granite adorning the walls and floor of the grand lobby. There is a door attendant to help with luggage or just to say hi. The front desk staff is very friendly and accommodating. I even saw one or two of the front desk employees with Michelin pins, indicating a higher level of training and performance. Off the lobby, in a sunken level is the restaurant and bar. My room was well appointed with higher quality furnishings that mirrored the decor of the lobby with darker woods and muted, earth toned colors, which felt a bit outdated. My room had a safe and refrigerator (not stocked) but no iron or ironing board. There was a Nespresso coffee maker but two days in a row, no coffee capsules were left. I had to call to the front desk to get capsules delivered and they seemed a bit annoyed with my request. The bathroom was well lit and included a rain head shower and separate bathtub and toilet area as well as two sinks. Sadly, this hotel still uses single use toiletry items (shampoo, conditioner, etc.). The single use bottles are shaped in such a way that it is difficult to get the product out of the container and they don't smell or feel very luxurious. The bar hand soap is equally bland. The bed was comfortable with good quality cotton sheets and nice feather pillows, though I like having at least one foam pillow to use as a base for my feather pillow. The air conditioning was great. I tend to run a bit hot and like my room on the colder side. I set the thermostat to the lowest temperature (19 C), but it felt colder than that. I was very comfortable. The housekeeper did an excellent job of tidying my room each day though they were very noisy when cleaning the room next to mine that kept me from sleeping in that morning. The hotel advertises itself as a 5-star hotel. The rooms could use a refresh, and the toiletry items could also be updated. It just does not quite feel like a 5-star experience but with a little effort I think they could easily get there. It is for those reasons that I will be rating this hotel with 4 stars.

Yelp
Front desk person Tobias feels travelers are to be "dumped" wherever a room is open even with reservations and this hotel is categorized on Bonvoy as a luxury hotel. When Bonvoy was mentioned and the category of luxury he said "we are not Marriott" as if I needed to be to told they are not a marriott and remind me the name of the hotel First he told us the reservation was cancelled then he told us he found it then he told us the room has king beds then he said no I'm wrong they are twin beds When pointed out to him he was unaccommodating and disorganized with no regard for his guests who are checking in His response was "I am busy I have a lot of things to do " When asked to speak to the manager or GM do you want or come down and wait to talk to him? First day of our visit to Argentina .... Rest of the staff was friendly, breakfast nice Room service very fast, location perfect

Yelp
I stayed at the Alvear Art Hotel, not to be confused with the Alvear Hotel, and had a fantastic stay of a little over a week. Location is safe and convenient to many tourist attractions, as well as local neighborhoods. All the staff members I've encountered spoke English and most provided excellent customer service, including those in the hotel restaurant. My hotel rate included a daily breakfast buffet, which was pretty comprehensive with hot foods, ample variety of cut-fruits, pastries, and dairy products. My room consisted of a king-size bed, which was super comfortable. The view on the 11th floor was good as I got a glimpse of other tall office buildings and apartments. The bathroom was clean with a nice layout. If you don't have a converter for your electronics, you can borrow one from the front desk. Most of the channels on tv were in Spanish, but I was able to find 2 English channels. Special shout-out to Jose, front desk associate, who went above and beyond to help me with the screws on my glasses. I think he gets me as he also wears glasses. My glasses were loose and he and a maintenance staff member tried to fix my glasses. They reached success even though they didn't have the super tiny screwdrivers, loved their problem-solving skills! I wold love to visit Buenos Aires again and stay at the Alvear Art Hotel! #45/2018

Yelp
This was a really nice hotel! Aside from the fact that I dropped my iphone on the marble floor of their lobby which shattered the screen, I had a fantastic stay here while on a business trip. The hotel is close to the main drag of 9th of July street, but is also a fairly close walk to the pedestrian shopping area. There are a lot of restaurants in the area if you don't mind walking 10 or 15 minutes. The rooms are large and spacious, tastefully decorated, stay very dark with the darkening curtains that also are electric. Bathroom is also large. The TV has local channels, English channels as well as French and German channels. Pretty cool. There is a spa on two of the top floors. Amazing views and a great place to take a dip in the pool and relax in the relaxing room. There is also a small steam room and small sauna. There's a stocked locker room but don't recommend the cologne. Not very nice smelling (at least when I was there!) We opted for breakfast and there was a really nice buffet spread with pastries, hot food, fruit salad, and cereals. My co-worker and I seemed to have gone at good times as it was never crowded. Nice and easy start to our mornings. The service was also top notch. Everyone was super polite and helpful. It was easy to check in/out, and they helped with making reservations at restaurants we were interested in going to and calling us cabs if they were too far to walk to. I'd certainly stay here again!

Yelp
If you are looking for a place to stay in BA this is THE BEST HOTEL for you. I have never experiences better and more hospitable service anywhere. The only hotel that comes close would be Torren in Amsterdam but its a much smaller property which makes it hard to put in the same category. Everyone I have encountered here is an ambassador of the hotel and is so amazing in getting your happiness level to the maximum. I am not going to stay anywhere else on my future visits and will definitely recommend to all my friends and family. Besides having amazing staff you will also enjoy an amazing view at the pool on the 17th floor overlooking the most beautiful parts of BA. The barkeeps are extremely skilled and will leave you satisfied whatever you crave. The food and execution is exceptional in every aspect and so are the drinks. Lastly, this hotel is conveniently located right in the smack of everything and is also very secure with security at the entrance and a bunch of government officials leaving in and out of the restaurant. This is truly a second home away from home all thanks to the amazing staff and their attitude. Cheers to you Alvear Art Hotel.

Yelp
Stayed here for five nights. What a wonderful place! The staff could not do enough for you and are so polite and helpful. Cristian and Emily were wonderful in the restaurant and Fabian and Agustino at the front desk were amazing. They made recommendations for places we should go and made all our restaurant bookings as my Spanish is extremely limited. will definitely return.

Yelp
I always stay at the big chain hotels for points, but the decent ones in the area were sold out, and I am glad. This boutique hotel is super chic and very clean. It's a true luxury hotel and I feel a little spoiled now. There is a Nespresso machine in the room with your choice of pods. Decor is chic and modern. They have lush towels, pillows, robes, and spa slippers. Linens are high quality. Location is close to everything, but not in a busy area, which is a nice. The view from the top floor is beautiful, it's also where the pool and gym are. Decent facilities, but they close at 10pm on weeknights which is moral for hotels in the area. The only downside is I've noticed the staff is not as friendly as several other hotels in the area. They seem to be a little arrogant :/

Yelp
Fabulous trendy Art Hotel. Decorated with Trendy Modern Furnishings. The hotel offers a private spa, rooftop heated pool with a nice hottub. A very nice workout facility with modern equipment. We booked a Premier Studio which offers a large room, deep jacuzzi bathtub, separate rainfall shower with a handheld shower head. Private water closet with a separate bidet. The bathroom has double marble sinks. Also offers an on site restaurant with a separate bar. Just a stones throw from Santa Fe street which is a trendy neighborhood full of stores for all your shopping needs.

Yelp
I'd been planning my first trip to Argentina for many years. I found a listing for the Alvear Art Hotel on TripAdvisor and booked it solely based on their reviews. The hotel is outstanding! Very elegant while sleek and contemporary. It's quite luxurious, and ranks right up there with the best hotels I've stayed in around the world. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. The room is spacious, immaculate and well appointed. The large, marble clad bathroom is a wonder. Breakfast is included and is both varied and delicious. I would return to this hotel in a heartbeat!

Yelp
Wonderful and beautifully designed hotel. Service level and surroundings top notch. Fabulous and knowledgable staff. They are well trained and know the area well. In addition, there is a rooftop pool area/workout room with panoramic views of the city. Restaurant and bar area food is really good too. We loved it!

Yelp
In the last 10 days this has become one of my favorite hotels! The staff is amazing! We had a lot of laughs with them over drinks. The room was beautiful and they had everything we could possibly need. It was a little sad to leave because we had such a great time. The pool had a stunning view of the city, it was on the 17th floor. Definitely staying here every time we come to BA.
