Alvear Icon Hotel

Such an amazing hotel. From the lobby to the rooms, this hotel is beautifully designed. There's so much to appreciate about this hotel. The spaciousness of the bathroom, the views from the top floor bar/restaurant. Did I mention the heated floors in the bathroom! 😀 The location is good for getting to see interesting places in Buenos Aries and the city comes alive at night along the walkways near the river, a must see for music, people performing the Tango and good food.

I had a great time at Alvear Icon. Awesome location. Very friendly and helpful staff. They made an effort to hold our luggage and let us check-in early and check-out late given our travel situation. High caliber accommodations worth the price. Very nice outdoor pool and indoor pool as well. Room was clean, modern and very comfortable.

Full stars for accessibility and access! While the hotel bar not have been built with wheelchairs and accessibility in mind, they've adapted and added wheelchair lifts in order to comfortably bring wheelchair users to the restaurant and bar areas with comfort and dignity. Staff were super helpful and the location was just perfect!

My sister and me wanted a great place to stay in Argentina for 2 nights. My sister selected Alvear Icon just on a whim and it paid off. The reviews were mixed but we took a chance and were not disappointed. Valentina you are a star. While I have not found people to be very welcoming in Argentina, Valentina was welcoming and most of all, she was a consummate professional in how she carried out her duties. |The rooms were large, clean and well maintained. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to others. |The only downside I found is that many people in Argentina, unless they have to, don’t engage with people who don’t look like them. On our first day, while waiting to check in, my sister and I sat in the Lobby Bar for more than 30 minutes and none of the hosts came to our table. We assumed it was an oversight. To test the hypothesis, we visited the Lobby Bar the second day, and again, no one came to our table. I got up and went to the bar and it was then that we were acknowledged by a lovely young lady whose name escapes me. Mind you, some of the male hosts looked at me directly and simply avoided us. To the leadership at Alvear, I would recommend a course in cultural competency for people whose jobs are customer facing. I don’t know their lived experiences, but we are all people living this human experience with none superior to the other.

The location of the hotel was absolutely fantastic, with many excellent restaurants just a short and easy walk away. This made exploring the area incredibly convenient and enjoyable. The hotel itself is superb—beautifully maintained, comfortable, and welcoming in every way. We had a wonderful experience and will most definitely choose to stay here again on our next visit.

Great stay for business. Excellent food and brilliant service, and I particularly liked the outdoor pool. Breakfast could be better; it’s annoying that ordering eggs comes with an extra charge. The gym could also be better thought through—it’s a shame there’s no Peloton. I was disappointed that there was no Nespresso machine or any coffee-making facilities in the room.

Modern hotel in the Puerto Madero district. It has a rooftop bar with excellent views over the city and over the River Plate towards Uruguay. The bedrooms are quiet and comfortable. There is a kosher restaurant which serves food acceptable to all tastes. You can get a very English afternoon tea complete with fresh scones.

Overall, the hotel has a nice atmosphere and the staff are friendly. However, the breakfast is very disappointing — it’s extremely small, always the same, and simply not enough. There are absolutely no vegetables and the selection is tiny, so there’s basically nothing to eat. Another issue is that sometimes the room service staff enter the room without knocking, which is very uncomfortable and unprofessional.

Whoa- yes, please. Alvear Icon is a very luxurious hotel that delivers a sense of awe as the decor is far above and beyond what is expected from a luxury hotel. There are so many details that stand out at this property that make it next level. First, let me provide some context for our stay. We are part of an Antarctic Cruise departing from BA to Ushuaia. The cruise company; Seabourn has chosen this hotel as the meeting point and we are staying here one night before taking a bus to a charter flight. That being said, the property is stunning and the staff is very helpful. Check in was very easy and when we got to our suite in the 13th floor, we were in awe of the beautiful view of the Puerto Madero district as well as Parque Colón. The suite itself was very posh. The marble in the bathroom was the most opulent I had ever seen in a hotel suite. Worth of mention was also the softness of the bedsheets. These have to be my favorite of any hotel I've stayed in the world over. A very comfortable sleep was had. The amenities are great too- we tried the workout room which had a good selection of treadmills and bikes, plus amazing views of the conservation area. My only regret is only staying here one night, but if the opportunity ever presents itself to stay in BA again, I'd love to come back!

This is a very nice hotel with great service, really nice big rooms, good restaurants, and a super location. There's a lot to do in the area and is safe to walk around.

My daughter and I were originally booked at another Alvear hotel through our cruise vendor which added an extra week stay. Long story short due to the transfer and lost communication, Tomas at the front desk handled all issues and did it with a smile. Our room was perfect and loved the bathroom. Francisco set us up with the best 3 hour tour of Buenos Aires. Augustine introduced me to the Argentina latte and for some reason he was the only one who could get it just right. I love the park next to the hotel and walked 30 minutes every morning. The hotel is located Puerto Madero, which I learned was the new rich section. It is not close to the Metro, but since I enjoy walking it worked out great! I highly recommend this hotel and hopefully will return soon. I anticipate that the Hotel Management will recognize just how valuable Tomas is and will promote him soon. What made it really exciting is we were there during the World Cup semi and final playoffs!!!!

A caring, attentive, clean, well appointed hotel with a great location for Puerto Maduro. Spent 4 nights. Loved all of them. It's great value for money, has a cool rooftop bar and restaurant, spa and proximity to great retail and restaurants. I will be back.

I asked several people if they new of a high rooftop where I could see the city and i got no answer, I don't know, but Argentinians really should know this place, or maybe I asked the wrong people..the view at 32 are marv!
