Am Pavillon

Am Pavillon may be the worst B and B experience I have ever had. Between the musty, ancient towels, the old and perhaps not the cleanest sheets and the racist and deceptive owner - visitors to Bern should stay far away from Am Pavillon. |The house overlooks the main Bern train tracks but this isn't mentioned in any of their advertising. It was hot when we were there in June but if the windows were open, there was constant train noise. And there was no AC or fan, so with the windows closed the room was overwhelming stuffy.|The towels and sheet were gross and were so ragged that they clearly haven't been replaced in years.|But the worst part was dealing with the owner. He told us he refuses to rent to certain ethnic groups and just tells them that his B and B is full. This admission was shocking. We booked for 2 nights but he charged us for a third. While our plans did change, it was clear that we had only stayed two nights and still he charged us for three and refused to refund the money he charged my credit card without permission. He became abusive over email with me when I requested a refund for the night we were charged but did not stay.|Stay away from Am Pavillon B and B. Yes, it is less expensive than other places in Bern but it's not worth the savings.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! They are extremely RUDE AND RACIST!! I tried to change my dates as my visa got delayed and that was declined and I was slapped with a cancellation fee. I tried to solve it amicably with the property and got racist insults. Let me try attach the screenshots here. I literally dodged a bullet with these ones.

Be carefull, they Kick you out even earlier. The information for the check out is missleading in Booking it says is at 10 am, the staff kicked me at 8 am and the written rules on the wall says 9 am. Both my towells were dirty and with smell of humid, like some one else used it, and the land lord instead of seein if the staff or provider did it wrong he get mad at me! See the pictures. EDIT: It was my own mistake for not checking reviews first. It is clear in the reviews and from their replies that they’re unprofessional, rude and scammy. EDIT 2: On top of being unprofessional, they’re racist in their response while never denying the wrongdoing. Anyone booking the place please go through their responses on slightest of criticism. I booked them via booking.com for my dad and it clearly mentioned “No Prepayment Needed” and free Cancellation until a week before the travel. Few days after the booking, the hotel charged my credit card and would not respond to any messages or calls even via Booking.com customer service. Took me weeks of following up to get my refund from booking.com while the hotel did not respond to any direct or indirect (via booking.com customer service) communication. I ended up canceling it before the free cancellation deadline. No way I’m gonna entertain such fishy/scammy behavior.

Bad experience, the location is great but the service is very poor, just read other reviews. The manager tries to argue about reviews instead of listening. I only recommend this place for a short stay if nothing else is available.

The staff or owner Stefan is extremely rude, I asked regarding the cancellation policy of the booking and he started to harass and threaten me in his emails - very unprofessional, rude and poor behaviour, if you read the reviews of this property before booking, it should be a sensible reason enough to never set foot nor give this property a chance of your booking when visiting Bern.

We stayed there for 3 nights during the climbing world championships. Great service as a modern kitchen and breakfast cereals plus milk and orange juice and coffee/machine is provided. Also the dining room and living rooms in the entry floor are cosy. The location is perfect, you cross the railway station and are in the center of Bern. And the rooms are nicely furnished with a most comfortable bed. Oh, and sharing a bathroom works well, there are just 3 rooms to the floor. In a nutshell - great value for the money.

Very happy with our stay here. The bathrooms are shared, but we never really had to wait to use the bathroom on our floor. Our room faced the train tracks, so there was some noise in the early hours of the morning. That was expected based on the location. But overall, a wonderful stay for a great price!
