I have been training over a year at this place, it changed my life, best gym in Nj. I lost more than 20 pounds, I’m in best shape of my life. Thanks to AMA for that. Coach Spider is very knowledgeable Instructor and very friendly. He makes every single class interesting and fun. They also offer awesome Brazilian jiu-jitsu classes. Try a trial class, you won’t regret it.

My kids attend Jui Jitsu and Muay Thai classes at AMA. The instructors and staff are AMAZING. Stripes/belts for jui jitsu are earned and not just handed out, and muay thai is giving them so much strength and confidence. Definitely recommend!

I just gotta tell ya about this super cool BJJ & Muay Thai martial arts school I found in Morristown! It’s like a big adventure playground where you get to learn awesome moves and make lots of new friends! First off, the coaches there are so professional . They’re so nice and patient, and they really know their stuff. They show you all these cool moves step by step, and they make sure you’re having a blast while learning. And the other members there are very welcoming. Everyone is cheering each other on, helping each other get better, and having a great time together. It feels like a big family! So if you wanna have a workout, learn self defence,make awesome friends, and have a ton of fun, this BJJ & Muay Thai school is the place to be. Trust me, you’re gonna love it!

I’ve trained at AMA Fight Club for over 2 years now. I bet it’s the top martial arts school in the Morristown area. It has helped me develop great Muay Thai technique, physical strength and endurance, and connections with others in the classes. When I started, I couldn’t do a push-up or jump rope for more than 30 seconds. And I’d never thrown a punch. Now, I spar, jump rope for 10 minutes no problem, and do sets of 20 pushups. The coaches are motivating and there’s always something new to learn. Did I mention it’s fun? The only negative I see is that it’s crowded. They need more classes or a bigger space due to its overwhelming recent popularity.

Great BJJ school! Excellent culture and instructors. The schedule covers a lot of time slots for both BJJ and Kickboxing throughout the entire week. Class always starts on time. Offers both BJJ and Kickboxing at beginner and advanced levels. Highly recommended!

AMA is a serious, but welcoming community of people trying to learn, compete, and have fun! Professor Helwig’s BJJ program is exceptional and full of dynamic and diverse competitors at all skill levels. The same is true about coach Spyda’s Muay Thai program. I was a member at the previous location which was already great. This new facility, however, is simply amazing. Without naming names, it is by far cleaner and larger than the other New Jersey BJJ gyms I've trained at. With unlimited classes included in the price and class times that have worked for me even with an erratic work schedule, it is also the most convenient. I started out BJJ as a way to stay in shape, but it has become a pursuit that I can’t imagine living without. AMA is family friendly too, offering a great deal for families- which I’ve taken advantage of by introducing my little brother to BJJ and my father to Muay Thai. AMA fight club is the best for beginners and professionals alike and I recommend it to anyone interested in real martial arts.

I moved here from out of state, it's hard meeting people & making friends as an adult. I Joined Ama to get a good work out in but fell in love with this gym. The community is everything & instruction. I've learned so much & I consider the people here at AMA family. This gym has everything you're looking for!

I have been a member at AMA for 7 years now, and I honestly don't know if I could imagine my life with out AMA, Helwig, Carl, Anthony and the group of training partners I have shared since joining. Helwig has the unique teaching skill of being able to relate complex concepts in an easily digestible structure to elevate skills of anyone who trains. Combined with finding what motivates each student and tactfully pushing them. Learning Brazilian Jiu Jitsu will never feel so individualized in a group setting. Additionally, the other black belts Carl and Anthony both instructors, provide great wealth of knowledge and experience. The combined knowledge of these 3 has greatly influenced and grown my skills. The philosophy of AMA is simple; full resistance training. Making sure what you learn can be applied to situations where there is no complying partner/opponent, translating directly to real world application. Each class is run with extreme attention to detail and the curriculum is constantly updated as the sport of jiu jitsu develops.
