I had my birthday dinner here with my husband and it was such a great experience! The food was amazing – I can’t believe Kangaroo Island has such a fantastic Italian restaurant. Service was excellent, and I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in KI 🍕

Google
food was great, staff were good especially for a very busy night. Was very good to go to a nice traditional Italian restaurant. ENSURE YOU BOOK. it does say to and we thought it would be okay but it is a fully booked restaurant each night and this was early in the week (Especially cos not everything is open Monday/Tuesday nights) Food came out fast as well, great place. Great traditional italian meals, we got a pizza and lasagne and were not dissapointed

Came here for dinner during our trip and was very disappointed. This place is blatantly false advertising, saying 'everything is handmade' on their website then serving us San Remo at 37 bucks a pop. Not okay and very deceptive behaviour!. They also advertised lamb shanks and a 'must try' homemade gnocci on the website, but neither were available and we were advised this is an old update to the website. Pasta on all dishes was undercooked and very average. Seafood pasta was flavored with salt only and was so undercooked it was inedible. Margarita pizza was good. Staff were friendly and very attentive. Shiraz was a good distraction.

Such a beautiful restaurant on the main street of Kingscote and conveniently right next door to the Ozone Hotel. We went here twice in our trip to Kangaroo Island. Definitely recommend the seafood degustation menu.

This is a little piece of Italy. I thoroughly enjoyed my seafood pasta but then my husband gave me his last piece of pizza and that was even better. Oh, and the family made Shiraz was excellent. The pizza was so good (Siciiana) that we went back the next day and got a takeaway. Delish!

Ciao!! I’ve truly savoured every bite of the incredible Italian dishes at Amadio’s Vino e Cucina during my dream holiday here in paradise KI 🦘. My heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff for kindly keeping my handbag safe until I checked out at 10 a.m. from the hotel next door. I may now be officially in a glorious pasta coma 🍝🤣🙏🏽 Grazie infinite! #pastalover🍝😘

The service, food and wine were excellent. The better half had the veal meatballs and I had the prawns, excellent. Shared a tirumusu for dessert but it wasn't really authentic, more like a cream cake but it was very nice. A little noisy but nothing annoying. Would dine again if in town.

Mussel pot and braised pork pasta. So goood! Only thing, was the sauce from mussel pot a tad salty for us. Manage to get a table without reservation.

Yelp
This is a great mom and dad run (with the help of their two young sons) restaurant. I had one of the best pizzas I ever ate with toppings I never would have ordered on a perfectly done crust. My wife had a salmon pasta, which she also loved. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great tasting meals in a family run restaurant.

Yelp
Solid little place in the heart of kingscote. We came here every night (except for the last night). The Italians/Italian Australians who run this place are super sweet and friendly. Roberto made a charcuterie plate for me at 9.30am before our whole day tour around the island. And they are always there to give you some taste of the wine before you order. The Amadio sparkling wine reserve and the Pinot noir are our go-to wines. The Amadio wines are either from Adelaide hills or kangaroo island, and great value wines. In terms of food, it's much better than the Aurore ozone hotel. The bruschetta is great. If you want lasagna and pizza, come early given that they sell out quickly in the summer.

Yelp
Being underwhelmed by the other three choices in town, we decided to stop for a glass of wine or two before dinner. When we walked in and noticed they also served food, so we figured we'd give it a go. Staff was very friendly and quick with the service. We immediately started with a bottle of wine and ordered bruschetta and croistinis to start. While the wine (local KI vineyard) was very young and light bodied, we enjoyed it. After trying a few others, we noticed all the whites were similar. The starters arrived and we both enjoyed them. Nothing fancy, but most Italian food is simple, which makes it great. We also ordered the lasagna as a main and a panini filled with tomato, prosciutto and greens. The lasagna had a great, sweet sauce and creamy cheese. The panini was again, simple and flavorful. We started inside because of the setting sun and lack of available outside tables. Once done with dinner, we moved outside to finish our wine. Having enjoyed our experience, we returned the following evening to sample more wine and have a charcuterie board. Also another enjoyable experience. The two men (assumed owners) were very helpful and pleasant. One of the females, as noted in a previous review, lacks customer service skills. She didn't smile, wasn't welcoming on our second visit, very quick to say they didn't have any more chairs for the outside tables. One of the men retuned seconds later with 4 chairs. It didn't sour our experience, but a little effort would help this business attract more guests. Would return if ever back on KI.

Yelp
We really wanted to review this place better however the service combined with the food led to a lesser than anticipated experienced. There were two waiters on tonight - one obviously new and very nervous, one more experienced and blunt. Our experience began with a short, sharp and shiny (minus the shiny) phone call to make the reservation - the person who answered the phone seemed disinterested and cold. She did not repeat the booking, in fact I had to repeat the booking to her myself to ensure it was correct. Upon arriving we overheard a couple who stated that they had booked not have a table reserved for them, and were then asked to confirm that we were there for a table of 4 (we booked for 2). To begin our seated experience, we waited 20 minutes until the table was cleared of the previous guests mess. Drinks arrived quickly however were spilt all over the table by the shaky waiter. We had to ask to receive menus (given one between two). The newer waiter proceeded to take the menus despite not taking our food order. We then waited 60 minutes before we had to flag down a waiter and state that we would like to order. During this time we observed three tables who had arrived after us reviewed their food and leave, with complimentary drinks to say thanks for the wait. One hour and 30 minutes after arriving we received our food - overall the food was "okay" however was on par with a home cooked meal, store bought pasta and all. After finishing our meal we decided to cut to the chase and head to the bar to pay. The senior waiter stated that they were understaffed and put our meal through with no compensation, even though other tables had received free drinks. We totally understand that busy nights and few staff makes things difficult, but our overall experience was quite poor and I feel as though the excuse of being understaffed/having new staff on doesn't quite cut it.
