Location is great, walkable to everywhere but not too loud. The rooms are well maintained. The staff are great and helpful. I was one person in a 2 beds room and it was perfect but if you are two people, it could get a bit cozy to move around.|Cons: no WiFi in the rooms, so you have to come to the lobby/garden to get on WiFi, that’s why giving them 3 stars.

Avoid this trash. For the money I paid, this is not worth anything. I stayed 4 nights; The AC was not working at all. No generator when the power runs out. There are no amenities including free water bottles. For what we paid, I expected some of these, but this is barely a tent if that is what you are looking for. The room is small, and you cannot walk properly in it with no windows that look outside. Honestly just avoid and I think anywhere else would be better. The staff only care about billing you on every little thing but still couldn't care to fix or compensate for the broken AC. The only good thing about this stay is the location, but I would gladly stay far from the city than staying here. On top of this, they provide a security locker, but they make us sign a term stating that anything stolen from inside the room is not the concern of the stay. This was pretty concerning.

Located really nicely at the center so you can get anywhere quite close. The room might be a bit older than the picture but it's still decent. They need to retouch the bathroom though. The AC sound is quite loud but if you're doing it right at El Nido, you'll get tired by the end of the day and the AC sound won't bother you. Clean, that's the important note. Although the ground floor has a distinct smell.

Worst value for money I have ever seen in the last 6 months of my trip in East Asia. So many things were wrong in our stay. Instead of paying on booking.com, you have to pay at the property, which is understandable, however, they have you pay them a deposit payment a few days before check-in. I was sent an email with the property's bank information. I did everything right and used the correct information of the property. On arrival, they accidentally billed me the full price without excluding the deposit payment for it did not arrive yet. After doing so, we cancelled the payment, and I was told that I would need to pay instead on check-out; either the full price including the amount I sent for deposit or lesser price, not including the amount I sent as a deposit - all depending on whether if my deposit goes through or not. A day later, I was sent a message from my bank that my deposit payment was transferred successfully into the hotel's bank and I saw that my account was charged for it. Not thinking of it, I continued with my stay, although having many problems with the property (see below in the rest of the paragraph), but also really enjoying my time in El Nido whenever I was out of Amakan. On the day of check-out, I was told by the reception that my deposit payment has not arrived in their bank account. I was a bit shocked, knowing that I already saw that the payment went through successfully. When I asked them why did it happen they informed me that "their bank is picky with international payments" The staff informed me that I had to pay the full price even though I showed them that my bank account was billed. Though I demanded that I should be compensated for it, the staff refused and told me I wouldn't be able to leave the island unless I pay the full price. While they were arguing with me, they showed me the hotel's transactions in the last week, and they pointed out the fact that no deposit was entered in the last days, even though my account was billed. While seeing their transactions I saw that not one deposit payment went through into their accounts; having wondering if the account that I payed the deposit for is even the same account they showed me. Later I was even told by someone that it happened to him also. Having to deal with trying to refund the deposit payment through my bank (if I'm even going to get it back) is a huge waste of time for me because the only way I can contact them is through their phoneline and I won't be able to do it if I don't sit idly near a wifi spot because if not, I would be charged for calls and I won't be back home in at least a month and half. Speaking of WiFi. There's no WiFi in the rooms. There's only WiFi in public areas of the hotel which barely and you have to deal their with an unbearable amount of mosquitoes. It is generally better just going to a coffee shop that has internet. Not having wifi in the room was annoying because the cell reception wasn't really good there also. When I asked why there was no WiFi in the rooms, I was told that it was because the town provides free WiFi, which is true, but only if you're 150 meters from the beach, and the hotel is not. Other facilities that are very much lacking include, but are not limited to: the fact that the warm water wasn't working properly in a way that you either had boiling hot water or just cold water, the shower head was also broken, I know that the water systems in El Nido aren't very good, but the plumbing work makes it so that the bathroom was smelling like sewage. Apparently there was supposed to be breakfast in the hotel, but their kitchen is not working right now. Instead they only have a coffee station which only has warm water and warm ginger tea, not even coffee not sugar; which is a bit odd. El Nido is a pretty pricy town, but with the amount I payed for my room, I was better off staying almost anywhere else in El Nido, getting more for far less. Alternatively if you're seeking a more high end property; you could pay just a bit more than the price for Amakan and have a really comfortable experience.

Here's my contribution to their growing number of negative reviews. To be fair, I have stayed in this hotel 3 times in the last 3 years and I have tolerated their shortcomings until the other evening when their maintenance guy lied about putting freon in their AC to make it cooler. Obviously that was an excuse. The AC was noisy and it didn't work. When I kept asking the receptionist throught whatsapp, he just ignored my message. Another is the bed sheets. Feels like it's made of plastic. It sticks to the skin. Just avoid this hotel. Its overpriced for what you are getting.

Where do I even start? This experience has been frankly terrible. To begin with, the room feels like a prison cell. There are two tiny windows that face a wall, meaning we have no natural light or ventilation. The photos are misleading. There is no room service unless you specifically request it, which we only realized after two nights without anyone cleaning or tidying the room – and it gets dirty quickly due to the poor facilities. Speaking of which, the ceiling is covered in mold stains. The room is crammed with four beds, leaving barely any space to walk. We’ve encountered all sorts of animals, including a massive, fat rat. Any concerns we brought up to the reception staff were met with complete indifference. To top it all off, today (our last day), when we returned to the room, the key – which the reception usually keeps – was exactly where we had left it on the reception desk in the morning. In other words, the key had been exposed to anyone passing by, meaning anyone could have taken it and entered our room. One more thing – upon check-in, you’re required to sign a form stating that if your belongings go missing, the hotel takes no responsibility. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

We stayed for 4 days there and the entire hotel staff were very accommodating and friendly. They had back up generator that worked straightaway when there was a brownout so you don’t have to worry about no power at all. Water pressure is strong and they also have bidet on toilets. The sizes of their rooms are decent for the price and they are clean. There’s also a viewing point at the top so you can capture nice views. It’s also walking distance to the beach and to stores and restaurants so you won’t worry about access at all. Tricycles are available outside and there’s a 24-hr security. We enjoyed our stay and definitely will book again when given a chance! 💝

We have stayed at Amakan for 3 nights during our Philippines trip. Room is very small with no basic facilities like proper light, kettle.. Lot of mosquitoes everywhere in the hotel and even inside the room. Aircon makes lot of noise and there is no remote to operate it..Don’t book any boat tours with them as their tied up partner services are horrible.. Only positive thing is the location but you will have many other options at the same location with better facilities..
