I was in Chelmsford to watch a T20 Vitality Blast cricket game, I checked into this popular Italian bistro right at the start of service. The chef-patron, 43 year old Neapolitan, Andrea Vasto, is clearly a hands-on type of guy, because he was busy sprucing the place up as I arrived. So, I was whisked straight upstairs to a very attractive set-up, food ordered, nose powdered in the single classy loo and luncheon served!
I had whatever the Italian is for lemon chicken and fries. Jolly tasty too, nice, succulent chicken breast and VERY lemony indeed. Nice fries too. Stupidly, I didn't take a copy of the bill, but, from memory, it was around a very reasonable £16.
Done and dusted in a little over 30 minutes. Perfect pre-cricket fare.
