I loved this place! Great location on the water with beautiful views! Superb service! Accommodates lots of large parties at once! Owners helped our table out with VIP-like service, so impressive and can't wait to visit again! Every salad, main entree, and dessert was delicious! Thank you!!

DANA (Donna) was our, great, fun, energetic waitress with a dynamic personality. I also got to meet one of the owners by the name of Giuseppe. I had to introduce him to my Giuseppe. One building two dining experiences. We sat upstairs which overlook this beautiful lake and had a pepperoni pizza thin crust. We really enjoyed the pepperoni and we enjoyed the sauce along with that thin crust. I guess downstairs they have a totally different menu that serves chicken and other things, also live music. Who knows we might venture back there this evening to listen to live music. I WOULD RECOMMEND

Let me first say, the curly head gentleman with glasses was awesome behind the bar, He was very attentive and a gentleman with a sense of humor, the other two no sense of humor, no welcoming attitude, the blonde lady and a short guy with black hair and mustache, he ignored us several times when he walked by and I tried to get his attention just to turn on the heater behind us, he ignored us. The blonde lady took our drink order fairly quick, then disappeared for a long while before she took our food order very disappointing. You would think the short guy with black hair would be a little courteous and more professional but he was a jerk. The place is beautiful really enjoyed the food and the third gentleman, younger guy taller with curly hair and glasses, again he was awesome.

Loved our lunch at Amalfi Cucina Italiana in San Marcos! Stunning lake views and a nice sleek design inside. We enjoyed the salmons pistachio and racchetta calzone. Excellent service, friendly and accommodating. Dog friendly patio which puts you right on the water and you can see lots of ducks and other birds. Recommend!

Delicious Italian dishes served up fresh! The pasta dishes (sauces/noodle types) are all delicious. They have a wonderful wine selection. We are repeat diners! Great ambiance upstairs, with a more casual atmosphere downstairs. It is beautifully decorated during December! There is something for everyone! Highly recommend! Reservations also recommended. Parking is easily available off-peak days. Weekends,go with Valet service!

With so many event space options available, Lola is an absolute gem of a coordinator, and her assistant Nikkia was incredibly helpful every step of the way. Olga, Jade, and Jesse went above and beyond to make sure my event in the Enoteca/Smash Burger space on the executive golf course was flawless. The ambiance was stunning, the food was unforgettable, and my guests are still raving. The pricing was more than fair, and I will definitely be working with them again to host another amazing event! I literally feel like family now when I see them for lunch.

Delicious vegan options!! The vegan options are easily labeled and I had the vegan gnocchi with corbarino sauce, basic but perfect blend of flavor! My father had the lasagna and said it was a 9/10 (for retrospect, the only 10/10 lasagna has been IN Italy)! The atmosphere and location are pristine and cozy. Right when we walked in the staff were extremely warm and welcoming. They were all easy to talk to and attentive during our whole meal. If you are vegan and want a meal high in protein, I wouldn’t recommend but if you want great atmosphere and tentative hosts and a relaxing night, then I highly recommend!

The food and drinks are amazing, the noise volume is low, the servers are nice and informative, and the views are great! Would definitely come again! Highly recommend the lemon drop (slightly sweet, but still a tad sour), the vesuvio pizza (might not need red pepper flakes, its a good amount spicy already!), and the papparadelle al porcini (might need more black pepper).

Service was great and food was tasty but this place is rough and prices are steep. We came here while it was still light and noticed how beat up everything is including the tables, chairs, velvet seating. It likely looks better when it's darker. Menus are ripped up and could be replaced. Bathroom was a wreck - something going on as far as a repair but just a hot mess. Food was good - we shared a plate of pasta but didn't try anything else. Servers and staff that helped us were great other than the host - she has one job and drops u and runs. Great location with a nice view but for the steep prices, this place needs to step it up and spruce up the obvious.

We are staying at the Lakehouse Resort to celebrate my buddy of about 50 years as he turns one year short of the big 6-0. Since we're at the Lakehouse Resort, it's only fitting to celebrate his birthday at Amalfi Cucina Italiano. We had reservations but we were early so we decided to have Happy Hour drinks and Happy Hour apps, before we sat down for dinner. Our server at the bar was really good. He was friendly and gave us some good advice on pizzas we should order for our dinner. We ordered the Artichoke flower, meatballs and a bruschetta to share so that we keep room for the delicious authentic Italian entrees. After our Happy Hour at the bar, we were seated for dinner and the lovely Nikia was our server. From the get go, she was amazing. Not only was she easy on the eyes, she was very hospitable, friendly, and definitely knew the menu. She made some excellent recommendations one of which was the Bianca Pizza to start off to go perfect with our Old Fashions. When our pizza was served, it was a bit undercooked that the center was wet and flopped and couldn't hold up to the structure test. When Nikia checked on us about the pizza, I informed her of the issue and like a true professional, she took care of it immediately. The pizza was re-served, and it was perfect. Dinner entree selections were made and wine ordered. We wanted to each order something different so we can sample each item. The entrees we went with were the lamb chops, linguine with clams, blueberry risotto, and the ragu Napoletano with penne. Everything was really delicious, but out of all dishes, the Ragu Napoletano was the best dish out of all. The penne was a perfect aldente. Of course to finish off a perfect dinner, my buddy shared his birthday dessert and we also added the Pistachio cake, but its consistency was more of a mousse. If I happen to go back to the Lakehouse Resort, I'm definitely including a dinner at Amalfi Cucina Italiano.

Our discovery of this place was purely accidental. We were in the area and wanted to get something fast and easy with a nice view and this restaurant popped up. I was thoroughly impressed by its picturesque setting, situated right by the water, the beautiful winter wonderland lake house resort next to it and the gondola tour, evoking the charm of Italy. The food was delicious, and the service was prompt. The restaurant's layout is beautiful, but unfortunately, the bathroom was dirty. The large Christmas tree is a lovely addition, and ample seating is available. They also offer a $7 valet parking for convenience.

This is a hidden gem! Food was delicious, with a good variety to choose from. It does get pretty busy on a weekend! Inside is a chill casual vibe and depending on where you sit there is a nice view at night.

Beautiful upscale Italian restauran right by the lake hidden in San Marcos! You would not think this whole location is in San Marcos with all the homes and businesses around. The service is very nice, our waiter was attentive and welcoming! The food is also pretty good, i personally would only come back if I am in the area or for a special date night out. I got a pasta rigatoni with their spicy (vegan) marinara and it was amazing!! They don't service chicken at all though so this place definitely isn't a "chicken tenders please" type of restaurant. My family got pizza, a calzone, and a Caesar salad. Each food item had the restaurant's touch of their style. Overall pretty location, and pretty good food!

An absolute abomination. I contacted the restaurant via social media and email with no response, thus I am forced to resort to this review. As a member of the hospitality industry for about 10 years, what happened to my family on December 13th was nothing short of appalling. Background - we had a 6:00 pm reservation with 8 adults and 4 kids. We understand that it is going to be busy, and we are willing to take that into consideration given our knowledge of the industry. At NO time did anyone alert us a fashion show would be conducted a few feet away from our table. To heap that on unsuspecting guests is unimaginable to me. I am not even mad that my sea bass special came out 30 minutes, yes 30 minutes, later than everyone else's food or that my daughter never got a refill on her Coke despite asking several times. Those are small issues compared to what else was going on that night. They cranked up the music so loud that we couldn't speak to one another, we had had photographers and "models" bump into my brother in law while he was eating his risotto, and no one involved with the restaurant did anything. We were literally seated in the walkway of the show. Why not mention that when we were seated? They knew we had kids with us, why not put us at the back of the restaurant? This was not the waiter's fault, I actually felt bad for him and he took a small percentage off the bill. This is Management's fault. This incident didn't occur at 9:00 pm on a Friday in Little Italy. This was 7:00 pm during the holidays. Our family gathering was completely ruined, and I suspect they ruined several other gatherings that night. If one of my establishments did that to my guests, I would be horrified and someone would get fired. We have been to this restaurant several times, but this will be the last. I am not writing this review for anything other than to warn potential customers what you might be walking into. I had never thought to ask a restaurant whether they were going to have a DJ and fashion show during dinner, but I guess at Amafli, you better ask!

My family and I made birthday lunch reservations and were so impressed with how beautiful the location is. The restaurant has windows spanning the entire walls facing Lake San Marcos, giving a picturesque view while you enjoy your meal. We were seated quickly and also given a good amount of time to check things on our menu. When we were finally ready to order, it didn't take much time for our server to come. She was also great about getting us bread when we requested a basket. We started with calamari appetizers and the moment we took a bite, we knew we were at a restaurant with great quality. The calamari tasted juicy, plump, and fresh with a nice crispy crunch. The lemon paired perfectly and you could tell they had high quality squid, which explains the price point. When our meals came in, I was so impressed by the portion size. You can tell that they handmade their pasta because the noodles were nice and soft with just a slight chew, which is exactly how I like it. All of our dishes were delicious, and I was especially a fan of their tomato-based sauces. We ended our lunch with a decadent and delicious dessert that they brought out since we were celebrating my birthday, and it was such a treat! We will definitely be coming back down because of the amazing service, stunning views, and delicious food! If you are in the area and want to try it out, I highly recommend!

This restaurant is located in the Lakehouse hotel near the lake area. It is an upscale Italian restaurant with a lively atmosphere. We went there on the 4th of July weekend and the place was packed. Despite the crowd, the service was good and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. We ordered the Bolognese pasta and Nonnina pizza and both were decent for the price. We also tried their Bloody Mary which was tasty.

When it's good, it's great. When it's bad, it's good. This spot does have some consistency issues across food, drink, and service. However, even at its lowest points it is still a real gem for this area. Festive events, brunch on the bottom floor next to the lake, and date nights sharing some of our favorite Italian food are all go-tos for us. It's uncommon to find a spot with beer, wine, and cocktails, which is a draw for us to bring friends who all have different narrow alcohol preferences, although it's not uncommon for the beer to be "off" or warm, as though perhaps their systems need replacing. Many cocktails here are sweet for my taste but the spirit forward options really slap. Pizzas are competitive with the more famous Buona Forchetta location across town. The parking is almost Downtown or North Park bad when they're busy but at least it's free.

Walked into the restaurant and I could just tell I was about to eat like a king. The ambiance felt fancy but more on the casual side and gave off cozy vibes along with the breathtaking lake view. We were seated outside and it was the perfect weather to be eating pasta. I got the fettuccine with bolognese and it was so good. The portions were pretty big too because I couldn't finish it and took it to-go. The clams, shrimps, and calamari were great as well. It made me think about my recent trip to Italy. Service was excellent as well, the waitress even gave us bread free of charge. We usually come here for special occasions so would love to come back again!

I've dined at Amalfi before and was looking to book a large party reservation. I worked with Lola via email and she was wonderful in helping to get all the details set up. When we arrived for our event everything was ready to go. Our server Stan ( I believe was his name, apologies if I got it wrong) took very good care of us! Even for a large party, everything came timely. I acknowledged that when the food arrived the table got quiet as everyone was enjoying the food! I didn't get pictures much, but I did take one of my plate, one of their specials, it was delicious! It was a rainy day but the restaurant still made for a beautiful ambiance for the event. Lola was even kind enough to reach back out after the event to ensure everything went well. Very happy with service, food, and hospitality! We will be returning again!

A hidden gem by Lake San Marcos. The BEST calamari can be described as gourmet. All their dishes are delicious! Chef quality flavors. Most of all, their service is superb and sincere. This is my third dine and still crave their food and ambience.

We were here last night for a friend's birthday, and it was my first time visiting this famous restaurant. We were seated downstairs, and I absolutely loved the view of the lake. The ambiance is easily five stars--especially with the nice weather. Sitting outside with a gentle breeze while overlooking the lake felt like being on vacation. I would come here just for the view, but that is me. LOL The band was playing hard rock--like, really rocking hard. When Smoke on the Water came on, I was like, "Wow, rock on!" It was very loud, so if you're sensitive to loud music, I'd recommend checking their website to see which band is playing that night. Last night's band was super cool for me--I was totally grooving to it and loved it so much. However, some ladies in our party were quite uncomfortable with the constant, super loud music--it actually hurt their ears. So just be aware: make sure to check the lineup beforehand. Now on to the food--this was hands down one of my favorite pizza experiences. I ordered the veggie pizza, and it was so good! Thin crust, made in-house from scratch, and all the veggies were roasted to perfection. Others ordered the lasagna, along with a variety of salads and a meat-lover's pizza. Everyone had nothing but rave reviews. Needless to say, it's a win-win--for both the ambiance and the food. Bonus points: they allowed us to pay individually. For a party of around 20 people, that was really convenient and much appreciated! I would definitely come back. Maybe soon. Ciao!

Been here a couple times now, and the restaurant is very nice with high ceilings and a beautiful view of the lake! It really makes you feel like you're somewhere else and not in San Marcos. Rec getting a table on their patio, heat lamps are provided. The service is great, friendly. The restaurant can get a little loud, we had trouble having conversations at a table of 7, but it didn't bother us too much. The timing with the food was also very efficient, we had the apps come out and the rest of our food in a well-timed manner despite how busy it was on a Saturday night. The pizza here is top notch - we've tried the Margherita & pepperoni and both were made perfectly - great chew, crust, a true Neapolitan style pizza: 9.2/10. The pasta is made in-house and also very tasty, perfectly al dente where you choose the type of pasta and sauce you'd like (ordered the Arrabiata & Cacio y Pepe ): 9/10, others at our table ordered the salmon plate and made high remarks. The calamari was also super fresh with the lightest breaded coating. The focaccia was the only disappointing dish - burnt, and wasn't the focaccia we're used to ? It just looked like pizza dough without any sauce or toppings.. Their desserts are nice and extensive! We tried a few of their items including their gelato ice cream, lava cake, pistachio cake, and others we can't remember but everything was tasty. They did forget a request for lemons a few times and got a side salad order wrong but it was busy and understandable. One other complaint I had was that they closed their parking lot and made it valet for $7... not sure if this was a one-time thing or weekends but felt like it was unnecessary added cost Overall pleasant experiences here and would come back

I was surprised as I drove here that there is such a hip vibe restaurant with a waterfront view. The aesthetics are nice and they even have a golden pizza oven. It seems a great place for large parties as it was crowded on a Saturday evening. There is valet parking but you can also park on the street. The calamari was a 5/5. The service was okay. Seemed busy and unable to hear us well. We got two pizzas and two pastas (LINGUINE ALLE VONGOLE and I forgot as well as a Nonnina and Campione). They were decent and solid. Not remarkable considering the golden pizza oven. Bruschetta was good. But for the ambiance I can see why people would keep coming back.

Love this place! I truly enjoy the view and even though it was a warmer day the breeze sitting outside made it comfortable. I had the spaghetti, the French bread was very tasty, the side salad was the perfect size to compliment the meal. My friends had the dish with salmon, salad, grilled cauliflower, green beens, and potatoes which was also very good and loved the slight crispness of the salmon. The service was great too, she was very friendly and always came to check on us.

Wow. The vibe here is immaculate. Beautiful views of the water and just incredible vibes in such a random place. You'd never expect it. When you walk in, you're greeted by a very spacious interior and wall to wall views of the lake through floor to ceiling glass windows. I'd suggest coming here before sunset to get a good view of the water. Moving onto the food..started with the calamari and focaccia. The calamari was honestly some of the best I've had. Huge pieces of tender calamari, lightly breaded and super crispy. Authentic compared to all of the ones I've had in Italy. The focaccia was nice and crispy, perfectly burnt with a real wood fire oven taste. Then came the entrees. Tried a few pastas and other things. The mussels were delicious. Portion was gracious and not overcooked at all. Flavor was top notch. The seafood special pasta was also delicious. Pure seafood flavor and al dente noodles. Pizzas were perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Dessert was the tiramisu and pistachio cake. The tiramisu was very good but I think the pistachio cake could've used a lil something else. Overall, great service from our waitress who was Italian and gave a nice authentic vibe. I'd definitely recommend this place for a nice night out or big group dinner. Bravo!

If you're looking for excellent food and service, this is your place. You'll feel far fancier than you are and they won't even make you feel out of place for obviously being a patron at a place far above your pedigree. The location is absolutely gorgeous and you can enjoy yourself outside before or after your meal. Pricey... but worth it. Treat yourself!

Much better food experience this time. We came for dinner. The ambiance was nice, the sun setting and just the right light over the lake and the mountain. This time we got the visvio pizza (basic spicy salami pizza), beet salad, calamari to share. For my entree I got their special rigatoni with shrimp scampi and clams. The pizza was great! Less ingredient didn't make it too soggy, prefect amount of softness and crunchy on the crust. The beet salad was delicious. Plenty of red and yellow beets. My special pasta was delicious. I think they made the rigatoni. The clams were good. The huge shrimp was too, but it was sitting on the hot plate, parts of it felt mushy/overcooked. We also got gnocchi for the baby, he didn't like it but we did. It was delicious gnocchi! My husband got the pappardelle pasta with boscaiola sauce. It was a good sauce, better than the ragu. My MIL got the linguine alle vongole and it was super good too! Overall, the food was better this time around. FYI- Their corkage fee is a bit ridiculous at $35. If we knew, we would have just gotten one of their bottle, which reasonably priced. Normally the most I've seen is at $25, but $35 is a bit too much. It's the most I've seen around. Just saying so you can check out their wine list.

Probably the best option for food when staying at/near the lake but that's not speaking a lot since the other options are below average at best Bruschetta amalfitana with the burrata was average - lacking salt. The calamari was good but not great. Skip the eggplant bruschetta. The pasta is average. Nothing special. Tried 4 around the table and they were all relatively forgettable. Not bad but nothing notable If we're back for another stay, we'll probably be back. The winner of all the food options by default. Service was a highlight and very attentive!

I had a good experience, but the hostess that afternoon killed the mood with her attitude. My waiter was great and the food was good. The restaurant was very nice in appearance and ambience. Good selection in the menu. - tiramisu was delicious - my pepperoni, mushroom and sausage pizza was great love the dough - My Wife had a margarita pizza, which was great - I had two cocktails, which were delicious. Can't remember the name.

Enjoyed the ambiance of this place. This was conveniently located in the Lake House Resort we were staying in, so we got dinner here for one of the nights. Made a reservation for Saturday night & glad we did cause the place was pretty packed as it was Valentines/Presidents' Day weekend. We were seated in a nice, spacious table & food arrived very quickly. The service was okay, not the best. The server wasn't as attentive as we'd hope, but he was nice. The food was tasty. We ordered bucatini amatriciana & fusilli ragu napoletano. The freshness of the pasta really stood out to us.

Ate here twice since our stay at the resort. Overall the quality of the food was good. Service was also excellent. Highlight of the meals were the pizza. Very deliciously makes. The dough was fresh and easy to chew on. The waterfront view was a plus as well. Overall I recommend this place for the pizza. Rest of the food was not bad either. But for an amazing pizza experience you can't go wrong with it.

The view of this place takes the cake and is probably the nicest place I've been to in San Marcos. We came here for my sister's graduation and this place didn't disappoint. The service was extremely good and caring, the hostess took care of us and the waitress was also very helpful as well. The food was great, this is definitely better than the amalfi cucina in oceanside! Would definitely recommend the paparadelle as a noodle base and pesto with your choice of protein (I got really good salmon for mine). This place is great if you are celebrating something or just want a good date night in San Marcos!

Donna our waitress was the best part of our experience eating here. She is so warm and lovely. The ambiance is the second best thing, I would recommend outdoor near by the lake. As for the food, unfortunately it was mediocre. The best thing about the pizza and pasta were the dough. Other than that, the tomato sauce was more sour than sweet. The meats and cheese were of low quality.

SO bomb. Pasta is fresh and flavorful, pizza is light and amazing. Food came out quick and staff was so attentive and friendly. You can tell the quality is good when I felt good after all the carbs. It's SO cute inside and if the weather is good outside, I recommend sitting outside w the lake view. Wine is good, cocktails are strong

First breakfast of the year in day 1! They opened at 11 AM, and we were seated immediately as we were the first to arrive. The view is unbeatable. I wish I am allowed to post more content about the place! I took like 50 pics&videos The team was friendly and excited for the new year, and you could still see the Christmas and New Year decorations, which added a festive touch to the experience. We ordered avocado toast, a chicken sandwich, and lemon cake, and we were so happy in terms of quality, portion size, and price. They also serve freshly squeezed orange juice, which is a must-try! Plenty of parking available. I'll definitely make it a habit to stop by every time I'm in the area. It feels like being transported to another part of the world--such a hidden gem and refreshing escape from San Diego City!

I want to begin by mentioning our waiter MARCO!!! He was so kind, informative and confident in the food he recommended. I especially appreciated his timing when asking about every part of our meal and his respectful manor, tone of voice and body language. He was an absolute PLUS to the vibe and ambiance of this authentic Italian restaurant. He elevated our dining experience with his recommendations and the food was all cooked, flavored and presented flawlessly! Perfect date night spot, already excited to come back!

Honestly I was pleasantly surprised with everything here. Stopped by here for dinner before heading to the Lakehouse Christmas events. Service was solid. Sat quickly, served quickly, food came out quick. My kids loved the focaccia & calamari appetizers. The focaccia is more like a flat cheese pizza though, not what I expected but still very good. The Beet salad was good, just too drenched with vinaigrette. I would get this on the side next time. Pastas were great portions. Al dente with rich sauces and good meats. I loveddddd their pizza here. True Italian style pizza! My kids loved it here, looking forward to coming back!

Amazing pizza, but the service is always poor! I've been here maybe 5-6 times, and I recommend Spaccanopoli or Valtellina with the calamari to start. But every single time I've been here, the waiters are inattentive or flat-out rude. Often, I find myself growing impatient as the waiter is engaged in some seemingly endless and hilarious conversation at another table. After spending half their time with the big tippers/regulars, these waiters then hastily rush over to our table, missing details and offering nothing in the way of courtesy or hospitality. The vibe is nice, but it's hard to spend that much and know you're going to get poor service.

Amalfi - recommended by a local. I ordered the shiitake risotto with crispy sea bass, arrabiatta, crispy artichoke appetizer, partenope pizza. The risotto was delicious, the crispy sea bass was prepared so strange - it was chunks of fried sea bass, but tasted like halibut! The pizza was meh, wasn't really hot. The arrabiatta rigatoni was really spicy. The server was good, but the actually delivery of the main courses was extremely slow - This lunch dragged on for 2 hours. I gave it 4 stars for the food, but needs to improve on the service.

Absolutely divine. Take your friends here. Take your significant other here. Take some coworkers here. This place is outstanding and should be shared with people you enjoy. The food was perfect, every bite delicious and so well thought out as a whole menu. The service was impeccable, friendly, attentive, kind staff at every aspect of the evening. And the dining experience is excellent with a beautiful lake view, wonderful decor, and a light and airy vibe. We LOVED this restaurant and are so glad we found it!

Pizza was okay. For the price, it really didn't taste great to me. I would've liked more flavor and bite. The crust was suuuuper thin and almost wet.

This is a nice Italian restaurant overlooking Lake San Marcos. I've been to this restaurant 2-3 times so far over the years, and what I like most about it is the service, and the scenery. Though when you walk in it looks like a very upscale fine dining restaurant, the atmosphere is actually very casual which is nice. Once when I went there the entire restaurant was filled to capacity and in that type of situation it is very loud. However, this last time, it was not nearly as busy and it felt very relaxing and tranquil, especially if you can get a table adjacent to the large windows overlooking the lake. Some take Gondola rides there, and the service has always been very friendly and attentive. The food is not bad, but is not out of this world either. In reviewing other 4 or 5 star reviews before going here recently it was interesting that many did not mention specific dishes and mainly focused on how good the service is and the ambiance without too much mention of the food. We started the meal with a couple of appetizers, the meatballs and the eggplant dish. Both were OK but not particularly flavorful and were a little bland, like it needed more salt or seasoning, and I'm not one for wanting more salt usually. For the main dishes my wife and I had the Branzino Amalfitana, which was a sea bass served "boneless" whole according to the menu, though my wife did find quite a few bones. That was not the issue, but just overall she felt the dish was a little lacking in taste but was OK. My dish, the Malfaldine Pescatora, with homemade ribbon pasta with mussels, clams and fish was enjoyable and probably the best of the items we had on the menu. However, sitting by the window, watching boats go by in a relaxing atmosphere, enjoying some nice food and glass of wine, was overall an enjoyable experience.

Food 3.5 Ambiance 5 Service 5 Value 4 Our first visit for a Friday dinner. Nice "happening" Italian restaurant vibe. Upscale yet casual decor and ambiance. Good vibe for date nights. We sat at the counter because they were the only seats available. The bartenders were attentive and friendly. They gave us full service at the counter. Especially the young female one was super nice. The only disappointment was the food. We had Eggplant Parmesan and Fettuccine with sausage and mushrooms. Eggplant Parmesan tasted like out of a box. Fettuccine was stuck together like someone didn't stir the pot, became doughy, and was not cooked to al dente. Not so OK for $26 a plate. The pasta sauce was very bland, and had barely any mushrooms. Both dishes were missing the good smell and taste of garlic. Also, they didn't serve any bread. I guess we were supposed to ask for it. So, this Italian restaurant was missing two things I like about Italian restaurants: garlic and bread with olive oil/balsamic. Good selection and prices for wine and beer. We liked the cool back-lit counter top!

It was a nice experience, as others have said the hostesses were a little uninterested in anything we were asking them but all around the service was great and the food was delicious.

Place was very busy and very loud. It's got a nice view of the lake. The calamari was good. The pasta was mediocre and the pizza was soggy. My BIL ordered the calzone. He said it was good. My SIL ordered the eggplant parm, she liked it too. My MIL ordered the mussel with added pasta. This was the best one out of all the dishes we ordered. Lots of mussels and was tasty. This place is overrated in my opinion.

The wife and I came down to the lake to have a nice lunch and we where not let down We sat on the patio with our dog and enjoyed a couple lovely drinks. We started with the bruschette followed by the lobster linguine. This is served in a tomato sauce and the lobster is served in the halfshell. Our waitress was lovely and attentive. Couldn't have asked for a better day. We where even treated to black swan sightings on the lake. What a site

Hubby chose this place. It looked very classy from the outside- glass windows and all. For a moment, we were worried we were under-dressed. We had our dog with us and I noticed as we were going in that some other patrons also had their dog there. There are parking lots outside the restaurant or you could choose to valet park your car. We valet parked our truck. We were greeted and seated immediately. We had our dog with us and chose to sit outside on the patio. We had a good view of the lake and could see the beautiful black swans in the lake. We were attended to once we sat down and had a chance to look at thr menus. We ordered a midnight margarita for me and a peroni for him. Drinks came in 5 and were delicious. I could taste thr pomegranate juice in my midnight margarita. There was a seasonal menu available in addition to the regular menu. We ordered from the regular menu. Nothing really tickled our fancy from the seasonal menu. We ordered a bruschetta and a lobster linguine to share. Bruschetta arrived pretty quickly and was delicious. It was not small bites but literally half a slice of toast with tomatoes and cheese on a bed of arugula. The cheese on top was still cold and it was refreshing on a hot day. We also ordered a bread bowl to go with our food. Bread was fresh and chewy in the middle. It was delicious. Lobster linguini arrived with the lobster partially removed from the shell and linguini in tomato sauce. The lobster was a little oversalted for my liking but the food was good. Pasta was al dente. Overall, food and service is good. A little oversalted at times. But our server checked on us all the time. Just a little point to note: We were sharing the lobster linguini. But they didn't split the linguini for us. And didn't bring us a plate. They did however apologize when they realized their mistake. It is the labour day weekend. And its very busy. Still loved the ambience the food and the vibes. We will be back

Love this place! Michael was our waiter and he was super friendly! I ordered a cocktail that was not on the menu and he made it work! We live in the neighborhood nearby and love going here for date night! They also have gluten free pasta which is a plus!

We love coming to Amalfi. It'd beautifully overlooking Lake San Marcos and it no longer feels like you're in San Diego. It's very serene and peaceful. The food is delicious! You can go wrong with any of their pizza options. Just be ware that they are decently sized and plenty to share. Calamari is delicious as an appetizer. Their pasta is fresh as well as their sauce. We finished with dessert; our choice was gelato and tiramisu which you can't go wrong with either.

We were ready to have a wonderful night at Amalfi and unfortunately Sue made our night horrible. She ignored us multiple times. Walked past our table many times and just ignored us again and again. We love this place but will never sit with her again. We felt invisible and unseen.
