I guess we set our hopes too high on this Italian joint. We were seated in the back past the pizza oven, which was a mistake if we wanted fresh air. The service was good, and we really enjoyed the toasted garlic bread that was brought before the meal service. The fettuccine arrabiata had a good flavor, and the pasta was al dente as it should be. The star of the show should have been the pizza, but it took a night off. We ordered the pizza diavola, but we were disappointed. While the pizza oven held promise, the flat, tasteless crust that emerged was underwhelming. There was no leoparding on the crust as there should have been. The cheese and sauce was scant. And while diavola should be the "devil's" pizza, it was served with angelic gloves. The pepperoni and allegedly spicy salami were merely bologna in disguise. I realize they had brought red pepper flakes to the table, but we are not to prepare our own spicy pizza diavola, it should present itself on its own legs. Would we eat here again? No.
