I was relieved of all my aussie cash. ($500 to $600) in $50.00 notes. Apparently anyone can enter your room. |I returned to find a guy who told me he had been through my bags looking for the motorbike key, (which I was ready to return to reception). |Wouldn’t recommend this place to my enemy.

The place is dirty and run down. I had a pump at the back of my room that kept me up all night and after mentioning it to the staff nothing was done about it. The restaurant staff were rude. The pool is disgusting and I'd never want to swim in it. I was extorted by the local taxi drivers on the hotel premises and all the manager had to say was I should pay the money for the privilege of using another service.

The rooms are basic but clean and cleaned daily also. The menu in the restaurant offers a good selection of both western and local foods, and the staff are happy to deliver to your room. Walk out the gate of the resort and onto a beautiful beach. It really doesn't get much better...

EVERYTHING is HORRIBLE, except the beachfront location:||||1. We requested for a single bed, they said they would do but we ended up with twin bed being pushed together at different height.||2. The breakfast was terrible, no taste, no staff on standby. They did not have most of what they wrote in the menu.||3. The hotel is dirty and old, there were crumbs came down from the ceiling everyday, the towels were filthy.||4. The shower and the toilet flush didn't work, we have informed the staff TWICE but no one ever came to check, let alone fixing it. Toilet could not handle solid waste at all. Shower was clogged.||5. No hook or rack that we could hang or put towels or clothes.||6. There was NO hot water, satellite TV, WIFI though they were all advertised as the booking package.||7. NO outlets in the entire room or bathroom, there was only one lightbulb in the center of the room.||8. The POOL WATER was GREEN and full of trash, you can't even see the bottom of the pool. Photos attached here. They never clean the pool.||All kids in the village play in the pool everyday, no privacy for the guest. We complained to the staff, he said it's local culture (really??)||9. There was no security, anyone could enter the premises at anytime.||10. We requested other room but it was even worse.||11. There was blood smears on the wall.||12. We extended 2 days since we were expecting them to fix it all as they promised but nothing. We left the hotel and found no staff at the front office for check out. We came again the next morning to check out but still no staff in front office. We left and they only realized the day after. We paid and they charged us the same price, even after all the downgraded facilities.||||There are many other hotels nearby, much cheaper and cleaner, and beachfront too. This hotel not willing to run the business and respect the guest, DO NOT stay here!

We have previously stayed here a number of times but haven't been back for the last three years. To say it was a disappointment was an understatement. Firstly it appears to have gone to ruin. The first day there were a number of menu items unavailable, no beers to purchase for the first 3 days, the pool was disgusting and had around 20-50 kids in it each day (so much for quiet times beside the pool while hubby surfed). Kids would ask for money and selfies constantly. Kids in pool not dressed or wearing swim nappies or having toilet breaks. The whole resort it open to the locals who come and go as they please - previously security ensured this did not happen. Showers were terrible with barely a trickle coming out of the shower heads and on the last day of stay no water at all. The pool lounges are falling apart and only had 2 mats so would be laying directly on wooden slats. Much better places to eat in the area. Such a shame as it usually would have been packed with a great vibe. Wont go again.

We initially booked 14 nights here (I know!) and stayed 3. The room appeared clean at first glance but was very tired. The shower did not work and our neighbours used the outdoor shower in the grounds as it was better (but cold). I struggled with the food, the whole place seemed unhygienic from the off with dogs everywhere. I was also traumatised by the bike boys who followed our taxi on the way in from about 15 mins down the road. We had no idea to start with what they wanted, we asked them to go away and they still followed us - right to our room and didn't leave! We eventually hired a bike the next day just to get them to go away (but to be honest it was nice to get away from Lakey Peak during the day). They would sit and look up at our balcony and room continuously. The resort is dated and dirty, mostly used by locals. Sunday must be bath day I think as the pool is full of all the local kids (and adults) getting washed too....It was filthy!! The strip out the front is also filthy, the whole place is rough and feels pretty unsafe too on a night. Dogs everywhere, inside restaurants too. We didn't get any refund for leaving 11 days early. The staff seemed pleasant enough but not really bothered once they have your money! We suffered with dicky tummies for the entire duration in Sumbawa which miraculously disappeared once back in Bali. Definitely not a place I'd go back to.

You will be disappointed here! There is not much choice in Sumbawa. You can definitely get the same experience and possibly better for a lot cheaper than Aman Gati. Firstly DO NOT use their taxi service. They just use the regular airport taxi offering which is run by a bunch of thugs. You'll pay a premium and then the taxi drivers will not let you share the (expensive) ride with other people heading to Lakey Peak. The hotel does not resemble the pictures on the website at all. It is generally run down. The bedroom bathrooms taps had fallen out the wall. The toilet didn't flush properly. The linen was clean enough though and they cleaned the room daily. The restaurant is very mediocre quality, very limited variety and you'll do better going to Fatmahs, Puma's or Ali's up and down the beach. Definitely a very average experience and at $70 per night its one of the more expensive offerings. Also, the booking system takes your money up front, and they management will not extend any leniency if you have problems with your flights etc. Bear in mind that your surfboards might not get onto the plane - I waited a day and a half for mine to arrive. I suggest trying Rock Pool Homestay with Mohammed Ali - location is down at Nungas (5min walk to Lakey Peak)

This place is a joke. We paid $80 a night and it was the biggest rip off ever. The service is terrible. The buildings are old and dirty. The pool is disgusting. All the locals are swimming in there all day and it looks like it hasn't been cleaned in years. They never had any food choices we wanted. Beer was always out. The breakfast was very average.the shower pressure was no existent... It was like a drip. ||Rooms were cleaned well each day however and the garden guy is still doing an alright job. I met people who were paying a quarter of the price for the same quality. ||The air-con was good though. ||Wish I read reviews on this place before we stayed. Waste of money.
