We recently stayed 4 nights at Amandayan, and had an amazing experience! Staff were warm and friendly and knew us by our names. Property is beautiful and well maintained, and service was top notch. The hotel is situated on top of 丽江古城, so exploring the old town is just a short walk away. Breakfast was amazing, and had a great selection of local cuisine and more international food. There are enjoyable activities organized by the hotel daily. Will definitely stay here again if we are in 丽江 🙂

Rooms : The hotel room is excellent—very clean, well-maintained, and comfortable. I truly appreciate the attention to detail. It made my stay very pleasant. Service : Really impressed with the service, everyone was super nice, always ready to help and they made sure I was comfortable throughout my stay. Great experience! Location : I really loved the location of the hotel, perched on Lion Hill(狮子山) with stunning old town views. It was peaceful and beautiful.

What a beautiful hotel in an oasis of calm in Lijiang. Sitting on Lion hill and with a temple in the grounds, it’s a wonderful escape from the bustling streets of the old town. We were able to visit the temple early before it opened to the public, which was an amazing experience. ||Staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful with everything, including helping us book tickets for attractions. We were staying on the gateway to Shangri-la package and had a fantastic day trip to Shangri-la and the tiger leaping gorge. ||The rooms were very well appointed in traditional buildings around a very quiet courtyard. From the outside decking of the hotel bar you could hear the nightlife of Lijiang down below (which we loved actually because it felt like you were experiencing it without having to push through the busy streets below) but we could not hear anything from our room. ||We were made to feel very welcome and comfortable our whole stay. We would have loved to stay longer. We definitely have the Aman bug now!

Had an amazing time at Amandayan with my friends! The service was top notch. For dinner, they let us try the special mushroom spirit which was amazing. They went out of their way to make us feel at home - packing our breakfast, arranging our rides etc. Also love the architecture of the hotel ❤️❤️❤️✨

Breakfast at Amandayan – A Taste of Aman Hospitality I wasn’t staying at the resort but decided to walk in for breakfast, and to my surprise (and delight), the F&B Manager kindly welcomed me in – a rare exception, as breakfast is usually reserved for in-house guests. I opted for the Western breakfast, which was beautifully presented and thoroughly satisfying. Every detail – from the quality of the food to the attentive yet unobtrusive service – reflected the refined standards Aman is known for. The ambiance, design, and overall atmosphere are exactly what you’d expect from an Aman property: serene, elegant, and deeply rooted in a sense of place. I had a lovely and memorable morning. Amandayan lives up to the name.

Amandayan is built like a local style Naxi village, clusters of attractive wood framed buildings jumbled up with alleys between, on the wooded birdsong filled slope above the town. From where the sound of the bars below does sometimes drift up. We were there in lowish season and requested a room on the quieter opposite side of the hotel. The onsite Chinese restaurant and cocktail bar are both great, and all the staff excellent. We did have a short power cut two nights in a row during our stay but accepted a free massage and meal as compensation.

What an incredible architecture design! Amandayan is a tranquil, zen oasis in the beautiful and very busy town from downstair. The service is Aman and Aman but quit lower than each other. The rooms interior are normal with traditional but a great vibe with the big space and more. Staff aren’t hand on and available at all times of the day and night and runs as other Aman. Tea testing activity so much fun!! Truly a unique, special experience HIGHLY RECOMMEND!But one problem in this stay is the guard of the back gate (if you wanna step down to the old town) he can’t remember me even though they got all the guest not over 20 persons, he can’t speak English and try to block me to come to inside anyway… no other staff there, so sad for Aman standard T_T and really sad for my life 😌

Everything you would expect from an Aman Hotel. Iris was our amazing butler. She was very attentive to the children. Hot Pot was a meal highlight for the family.
