This gate is the southern gate of Agra fort. It was originally named as Akbar Darwaza. Later, Shah Jahan renamed it after brave Rao Amar Singh ji of Jodhpur. His horse died while he made a fatal jump on the walls of Agra fort to escape after Salabat Khan(treasurer of Shah Jahan) was killed by Amar Singh in front of emperor himself. Later Amar Singhji was arrested and with due respect of his courage, the gate name was changed. The architecture of the gate is amazing and photogenic.

Gate of Agra Fort. Buy tickets online which will be faster. Fort ticket is 50 rs for Indians and 650 rs for foreigners. Fort is huge and well maintained. There are multiple other attractions inside. It is in front of Agra fort metro station. Must visit site if you are in Agra. 🙂
