Where to Stay in Bangkok (Updated 2025)

"I’d recommend upgrading if possible: Club Cabana Rooms have access to two private jacuzzis directly from the room, but even standard rooms are spacious with luxury bedding and rainfall showers; the rooftop infinity pool offers a stunning city view and the AkaAza sky bar is great in the evenings." - Matthew Kepnes

Amara Bangkok turned out to be a great stay, even though we arrived right after the big earthquake. The chaos around the city was real, but the staff handled everything with calm kindness, welcoming us with refreshing towels and cold water. Check-in was delayed, but we were given a smoking room with superior access. Hard to believe smoking rooms still exist—and the smell wasn’t exactly our thing—but since we stayed just one night, it was manageable. The rooftop pool, though, absolutely made up for it. Stunning views and such a relaxing vibe. We’ll definitely return—just in a non-smoking room next time!

Excellent hotel all around. Clean , modern (hipster, really), fantastic service, great location near everything gay. Awesome city views from our 18th floor king bed (after I moved the TV from in front of the window—why would they put it there?). Excellent breakfast buffet. Overall good value. We will stay again.

This is a beautiful hotel. The room we stayed in was spacious, clean and comfortable, especially the huge king size bed. |We loved the rooftop pool and bar but didn’t get time to use them. |Our breakfast was delicious with a large variety of choices. |There was plenty of staff who were very helpful and friendly particularly Risa at the front desk and the staff at the entrance.

Service: Not as great considering it was a 5 star-hotel. When I arrived at 10pm, no doorkeeper to help you with your luggage, the front door of the hotel was even closed (but unlocked). My check-in receptionist wasn't the friendliest, no welcome greeting, hard to smile, but got his job done well eg explained abt check out timing, bfast timing, wifi etc. But could use more welcoming energy as a frontdesk. No room service - no one helped you with your luggage. If you order grab, you have to pick it up at the lobby yourself, despite booking a Club room. Club lounge was okay. Didn't feel exclusive and no one checked the guests that come in and out. Rooms: ALOT of the amneties were broken. The switch of the hairdryer was broken. The switch of the bathroom curtain was non functional. You have to pull using the string manually. The sliding door of the bathroom could not stay shut. It kept sliding open buy itself. The bed and pillows were great. The view was amazing. Location: It's abt 10mins walk to Patpong Night Market. And quite in the middle between Sala Daeng BTS and Chong Nonsi. Quite a bit of a walk. Rooftop pool was good. Breakfast: Out of the 3 night-stay, I only went once. It was very mediocre. Alot of pork items and not much options. All in all, an okay experience for a 5 star-stay for the 7th time I've been to Bangkok.

At the Amara hotel the staff is doing everything to give you a great experience and the really make you feel welcome. We had a very comfortable stay. The bed is superpurb and the rooms provide you with every luxury you may need. The rooftop pool and bar is a big bonus. Get a room with access to the club lounge and you will get between 17:00 and 19:00 free drinks (also cocktails) and nice snacks with a great view. The rich breakfast buffet makes your stay complete. Highly recommend staying at the Amara hotel!

At this hotel, patience is essential. Check-in can take a long time, with long lines and guests cutting ahead without any reaction from the staff. The welcome drink in the lobby is self-serve – but only if there are clean glasses available. If you don’t want to wait for your luggage, it’s best to bring it up to your room yourself. Breakfast can also be a test of patience: long queues to be seated, even when there are clearly empty tables. Late risers should know that the buffet is cleared away right on time, so you’ll need to hurry once you’re seated. Coffee lovers will also need patience – the line for the coffee machine can be quite long. The restaurant is located in the basement – both the indoor and outdoor areas. Unfortunately, it feels more like being in a bunker than in a pleasant breakfast space. On the positive side, the rooms are beautiful and spotlessly clean, and the views from the upper floors are truly breathtaking. However, if you can live without the view, a homestay at one-third of the price might be the better option.

Amara Hotel offers one of the best services we've experienced. As soon as we arrived via Grab, the staff immediately assisted us with our luggage and brought it to the concierge, making check-in smooth and hassle-free. The lobby has a pleasant ambiance with complimentary infused water and juice, and even a clean, well-maintained restroom.Although we had to wait a bit to check in at 3 PM, we were pleasantly surprised when they upgraded our room from a deluxe to one with a private jacuzzi—complete with a great view and relaxing vibes. The rooftop pool also offers a beautiful view, though the drinks are a bit pricey. Breakfast had a wide variety of options, and our room featured a high-tech toilet with a heated seat and automatic bidet.During checkout, the concierge service was excellent, allowing us to safely store our luggage. Overall, a great stay with impressive hospitality

A somewhat soulless business hotel. The reception staff are politely businesslike, but nothing more. Housekeeping was inconsistent; sometimes there were no towels, sometimes no toilet paper. The shower was rather worn, and the door didn't close properly. And you're better off not checking the cleanliness in the corners. On the plus side: a very good location (near the BTS) and a rooftop pool.
