This is rural Cyprus, so its important to say that it won't suit everyone. If your idea of a hotel is slick, corporate service with 4/5 facilities this may not be for you. However, if you're after a traditionally built old inn, and comfortable stay in an idyllic location look no further. Service is polite at first but much warmer as you get to know the owners. Rooms are clean, well furnished in a traditional style and ours had two balconies, one overlooking the central courtyard and the other with fantastic views over the countryside. There are some idiosyncrasies - our balcony had a bird's nest in it! - but I saw no evidence of any dirt anywhere. The pool was perfectly clean and the central courtyard makes a great setting for a meal or a drink. Some reviewers have commented on dusty tables; to repeat, this is rural Cyprus and it is dusty, and keeping outside tables dust free would mean no time for anything else. The owner wipes down the table you're sat at and to me that's perfectly acceptable.||A couple of very minor niggles: some toiletries in the bathroom other than hand soap would be good, and while the beds are comfortable, the pillows are thin and hard and could do with replacing. All in all, I'd happily stay here again.

This gorgeous little inn in the middle of western area of Cyprus is an oasis! I was hiking across the Cyprus in middle of summer and this very cute inn with stunning views (& a swimming pool) was very special. ||||Furthermore the owners provide very traditional Cypriot foods (not the usual fare). Set in the wee & beautiful village of Kato Akouradaleia one feels as though you have stepped back in time. Beautiful rooms with stunning country side vistas!

This place was chosen for us, as part of a hiking holiday, and we had not checked Tripadvisor. The lady owner was very overbearing and bossy. She had a very peculiar approach to customer service. She treated us like children, so it was no surprise to us when she explained that she was a primary school teacher. It was amusing initially but it soon became exhausting. As it got dark and cold by 5.30 in February, we had to go and sit inside before dinner. As the dining area is open plan and next door to their lounge area, we had to put up with the TV being played at high volume.|The room was ok, though one of beds had a mattress which had the springs poking through - very uncomfortable to sleep on. We didn't complain, as the owner was likely to take offence , judging from our experiences the previous night. |The two non-Cypriot staff who worked in the kitchen spoke little English (nor French, German or Spanish) but were friendly and helpful. The best aspect of staying here was the quality and quantity of the food at dinner time and the fact that it was quiet at night (once the TV had been turned off). We could not hear the other guests, a nice French couple.

Stayed at Amarakos inn about 10 years ago and liked how authentic it was even the owner could not speak English so it was a struggle to communicate .The inn is miles from the nearest village so its a must to have a car as it is also quite high up the mountain.|| The first problem was there was no menu so whatever you ordered (and the food was lovely) you did not know how much it was until you got your bill when you were leaving . Their was always an argument going on when people were leaving and when we got our bill we found out why.Everything was over priced,we like everyone else thought as it was such a basic establishment with for example just boiled eggs and ham for breakfast very basic rooms and no frills whatsoever that at least it would be reasonable when it comes to paying (how wrong we were). The thing that stood out was the orange juice which mrs Angela made herself from her own oranges and which I had every morning was about 13 Euro's bottle ! which 10 years ago was a lot of money. Judging from the current reviews things have got worse which is such a shame as it could be really good with the correct realistic management who don't rip their customers off. So if you do go here ask the price of everything or be ready for a massive bill when you leave.

Yes believe the bad reviews! I have been doing agrotourism for over 3 years now, and of course was not expecting 5 star hotel amenities. However, having soap to wash yourself with in the bathroom is not asking for much. Additionally, the check-in check-out was horrendous. When we first got there, we walked around with our suitcases in the mid-august heat for 15-20minutes since no-one was around. I had to find their number and ring them up, only for the owner-lady to tell me that she was having a nap because she had a few arrivals earlier! At check out once again it was very difficult to find her and we were in a rush. She then took ages to give us our change/money, and when she did, she gave us 10eu les, in which case it took her even longer to find the missing 10eur. When we walked out, she didnt even look at us or say goodbye, which is plain manners.. In general shes quite rude and pedantic; when i asked her what time breakfast was, she responded by having a go at me about using the A/c (for only 2 hours - in mid august!) telling us we should disattach ourselves from it!? When we asked for soap or shampoo, anything to wash ourselves, she said to us "People bring this in themselves, were not five star". Excuse me, iv stayed in Hostels and still had soap in the bathroom! The only thing available was a 3/4 empty hand gel/soap on the sink.. They never offered us water, or explained how we can have access to any. We were forced to bring it in from our trips. Breakfast was lacking and we had to ask them to re-fill it (i.e. put more bread, cheese) otherwise they just left it mostly empty. There was no cereal, no variety of fruit, no yogurt.. the marmalade had ran out, they didnt re-stock the the figs once they ran out.. We are also predominantly vegan, but were forced to have a bit of cheese since all that was available was eggs and ham.. Not recommended. Its a shame beause they have a lovely looking place, but have no idea how to run it, or how to run a business. Its also quite loud during late afternoon and morning, so dont expect a restful sleep

If your looking for rural traditional Cyprus i highly recommend this 200 year old restored traditional village house furnished with Cypriot antiques. The rooms are clean and built with traditional stones and wooden beams. In the heart of the mountains in a quiet village surrounded by lush well kept gardens. We were personally welcomed by Costas the owner who was more than helpful. This isnt 5*hotel so don't expect a super luxury franchise. This is a beautiful goldmine and has personal tpuches throught each room and exterior. Would definatley stay here again 😊

We stayed here for one night and loved it! We were treated like kings. The food was amazing--fresh caught fish, homemade wine, homemade olives. We went on a hike the next morning and the sights were unbelievable. Definitely recommend this place.
