Today, four of us had lunch at Amazontina. This was our first visit since the restaurant reopened after the renovation. The space is still beautiful, and most of the dishes were at the same good standard as before. However, there were several issues that made us feel quite uncomfortable.
First, we ordered three starters, three main courses, and two sides. Surprisingly, the food was served in the order of mains first, then sides, and finally the starters, all arriving almost at once and filling the table. We asked the waitress whether starters should normally be served before mains. Her response was, “Why didn’t you tell us in advance?” We replied that we felt this was something the staff should ask or clarify beforehand. In our experience, if nothing is mentioned, the normal serving order would naturally be starters first. This was honestly the first time we have ever encountered such a situation, and also the first time we have been questioned like this by a staff member.
Second, we ordered our steak medium, but it was cooked at least medium-well to well done. That said, the quality of the ribeye itself was very good.
Third, one of the sides we ordered was a salad, and it was extremely, overwhelmingly salty.
Lastly, during both ordering and clearing the table, the service staff showed no smile at all, and their movements were quite rough. I understand that working in a busy restaurant can be tiring, but for such a nice restaurant, the level of service really needs improvement.
Overall, we hope the service can better match the quality and reputation of the restaurant.
