I was impressed with the hotel's location, just a stone's throw from Raohe Night Market and City Link, offering a wide range of dining and shopping options. Taipei 101 is also within easy reach, with a convenient shuttle service available upon request. The hotel's food selection is tailored to Asian tastes, with a variety of options, including made-to-order eggs. The rooms are impeccably clean, with crisp white sheets and towels. The staff is always available to lend a helping hand, which is a huge advantage. During my stay, the hotel's maintenance team promptly adjusted the room temperature, and the housekeeping staff quickly resolved an issue with the TV remote, demonstrating exceptional customer service.

Staying at amba Songshan was such a highlight of my time in Taipei. The views alone are unreal — waking up and seeing the city skyline (and Taipei 101!) made this feel like a true luxury stay without being over the top. The rooms are spacious, modern, and incredibly comfortable, especially after long days exploring. I loved how calm the area felt while still being close to night markets, walking paths, and cultural spots. The staff were kind, welcoming, and always helpful. If you want a peaceful stay with an amazing view, this is the place. Also great spot if you work remotely. The Wifi is very fast and reliable!

Price - TWD6,182++ per night for a Corner 101 View Room booked under their Stay Longer Advance Purchase Rate with Breakfast.||Room - we were upgraded to a Corner Extra Large 101 View Room (41SqM) which was nice and the extra space definitely appreciated! Room 2049 offered a geneous space for 2pax and limited views of 101 but otherwise more than sufficient organizing space. The amba slippers provided at check in were in different sizes and colors and were super useful when we were too lazy to put on proper shoes for breakfast. ||Breakfast - this was served at the only restaurant on site, Que, from 6:30am-10:00am and see s a modest buffet of selection with a heavy local focus eg local dumplings and carby stuff. However, we went 30mins prior to closing on the first morning and most food trays were empty without being refilled. Service was also haphazard as live stations often had missing staff and those whom we asked seemed reluctant to do even just eggs even though the stations were there. I wonder if the issue was understaffing or bad planning?||Facilities - the property offers an on-site free laundry, microwave, and ice machine on level 18 which we didn't use but some may find it useful I suppose. ||Apparently, the hotel also provides free shuttle service for guests but the info was not provided at check in and we happened to see the signage at the lift lobby once day. I thought this was a lost opportunity to showcase their initiative - a printout at check in for every guest wouldn't hurt.||Service - not unexpected from a non-international chain to not have great service so I would say it was an okay experience in general. There were some question mark moments which made small blips:||I asked for an extra key card as one card out of the two given at check in was needed to be placed in the room slot to activate electricity in the room, so I thought it was reasonable for us to get one more since there were 2 of us now left with only one card. But the front desk was reluctant to issue and made sure we were aware of the fact that we needed to return all 3 cards at check out as there will be a charge for any missing cards.||I asked for a straw at one breakfast but was told the restaurant didn't have any even though I was given them on earlier occasions. So I simply approached another staff for it and was given one.||In Summary,||I had a decent stay but I probably wouldn't stay here again as the DoubleTree at Zongshan offers the comfort of an international chain at similar price point. Not discouraging anyone who needs the location though.

This hotel’s location is alright and will work if you want to take metro all the way to the TPE airport (about an hour or so), but I uber-ed instead and that took us 40 minutes or $50 usd during mid-December 2025 at 12pm. The room is new, clean, and spacious, but unfortunately, there’s a strong odor. The staff was extremely accommodating, allowing us to check in an hour before the 3 pm check-in time, so we decided to stay and tolerate the smell instead of switching rooms. The pillow had a peculiar scent, almost like a mix of sweat, chlorine, and a hint of popcorn chicken, or something along those lines. Otherwise, this would easily be a 5-star review. The view is great, the location is convenient, and the staff is both friendly and professional. It’s just the unpleasant smell that really detracts from the experience. As for breakfast, it’s not included, but there’s a fantastic spot just a 2-minute walk south called Xia Shang Bao. It’s one of the best breakfasts I’ve had, so definitely check it out!

We stayed here for 3 nights and had a wonderful experience. The room was very spacious and comfortable, definitely one of the highlights of our stay.||The location is convenient with direct access to Songshan MRT Station and the TRA via a skywalk connected to the CityLink Mall. The mall has plenty of dining and shopping options including Tim Ho Wan, CoCo Curry House, McDonald’s, Mister Donut, CoCo, FamilyMart, 7-Eleven, Uniqlo, Muji, and Starbucks. There’s also a Burger King just outside the mall. A FamilyMart is located right across the hotel as well, and there’s a coffee shop in the same building. The hotel lobby is on the 17th floor, giving a nice elevated arrival feel.||From Taoyuan Airport, it’s easy to reach the hotel by taking the Airport MRT to Taipei Main Station, then transferring to the Green Line toward Beimen and on to Songshan Station. Houshanpi Station on the Blue Line is also about a 10–15 minute walk away.||The hotel is slightly farther from the main city center, but the great transport links make getting around very manageable. Overall, the room quality and service were excellent. I would happily stay here again!

Rooms are big and clean. The hotel is directly linked to a mall and the Songshan station. Raohe night market is a 5 minute walk away. Plenty of cafes and convenient stores nearby. 2 stars for the rude male employee during the night of our check in (12/25/2025). We were caught off guard that he asked for passports for ALL of the guests checking in. The other hotels that we’ve stayed in Taipei and Taichung did not do this. The employee tried to “upgrade” us for a “bigger” room which turned out to be miles more expensive than booking an extra separate room. I understand that they need to make a sale but this was such a low way to do it (on Christmas Day too).

The location is good in that its not too far away from city center but also quiet.(Just taking green MRT line will get you anywhere to center or airport/also the high speed rail TRA stops here) Rooms facility/design are creative but still lacking compared to 5star hotels. The promised view is just okay, slightly too far away from Taipei 101 tower but overall the lower price makes up for it. Theres a shopping mall beside with many japanese restaurant if thats your interest. Gym is suffocating with no view. Laundry machines are free to use. Staff are generally friendly and available. Breakfast is disappointing according to asian hotel standards. limited option and slow refill. I dont mind staying here again, but its not without its cons.

The hotel room was very clean and in a great location — just a 10-minute walk to the famous Raohe Night Market. I requested some birthday decorations for my boyfriend, and they actually did it — plus surprised us with a free birthday cake! 🎂 The service was truly excellent. Had such a wonderful experience here, definitely coming back next time!
