Located in Ximending, its convenient to access shops for daily needs. There's a 24h Watsons and several 7-11s nearby for toiletries and snacks if you're peckish. Carrefour is also nearby.
The nights are busy everyday with food vendors reminding us of Myeongdong.
During evenings and weekends though, it seems taxis can't drive up to the front of the hotel so we stopped along Kunming street behind.
For us as Muslim travelers, the biggest plus was that this hotel is Muslim friendly. Theres a sejadah, Quran, qiblah and prayer times sheet in the room. We used the prayer times from the Grand Mosque of Taipei website which varied a bit from the sheet.
Room was spacious enough to pray comfortably too. Guests can also request for halal breakfast and tis is served to you. Taiwanese rice noodles, fried rice and beef noodles rotate each morning. Plus salad. They provide different set of fork and spoon for us. If you're planning to do an early day trip on day X, remember to ask for a takeaway on day X-2 or as early as you can so they can prepare it for you. We remembered late day X-1 so food wasn't ready for us. No issue, we took some fruits with us. These meals were important because its a little hard still to find many halal options when we're moving around. The halal restaurants may not be near where you are. For example in Ximending we only know of Youssef shawarma beside the hotel.
No bidet or special Japanese toilet seat FYI.
We felt an Earthquake, I noticed in the room no hanging pictures to hurt u if they fall. While the building moved, everything else in the room was ok thankfully. Kudos to hotel! For guests, check out what to do in such a situation, Taiwan experiences earthquakes.
Service was great, everyone was very nice. We enjoyed staying here and would recommend to friends and family.
Oh and the decor and ambience really good too.
