Amazing location, right in the center of Haarlem. But the reality of the room I booked was very different from the photos I saw online. Carpet was stained and dark instead of bright, our view was of some industrial rooftops and it all felt very old fashioned and traditional versus the photos online. Staff was friendly and helpful but there is no room service available so it wasn't possible to order food to the room. All in all it was fine but quite disappointing for the amount of money I paid.

The hotel is located in the best part of town, in the heart of Haarlem. I had several pleasant walks from my hotel. Inside the staff is friendly and very attentive to guest. The lobby and first floor are full of charm, especially liked their restaurant, “the Governor” that was attached to the lobby. The only thing I that was okay was the room. The one I was in was dated and needed a little remodeling, but then again the best part of this hotel was location; being in such a beautiful location, who wants to be in the hotel room, but instead enjoying the grounds and surrounding area. My family liked it so much, they asked if I could book another stay if in Haarlem.

Love the location of this hotel! So close and convenient. Originally, I thought it would be too noisy, but it was pretty quiet in that area (at least during the end of March, not sure about during summer). The family room is very spacious and the beds are comfortable. The room does look a little dated. The only reason it’s not a full 5 stars is because of the shower! We are just not used to European showers. Wet and flooded everywhere! But, they did replace the towels during room service. We are also very happy with the luggage storage room. They allowed us to store our belongings before and after check out. Great service! Would recommend and would stay here again.

The location is great - very walkable to where you want to go. A good room is 32 which faces the church. We booked separate rooms with another couple for the same price. Room 32 had a good king size bed with modern furnishings. The other room, 37, was down the hall also facing the church and much less desirable. The furniture was very outdated and mismatched and the queen size bed was very uncomfortable. When booking, make sure you ask for the updated rooms or you will be unhappy. There is some street noise at night and the church bells ring until 9:00 at night but this didn't bother us. The staff is very nice. The breakfast buffet was overpriced without a lot of choices. A great breakfast alternative is a local restaurant called Toast which is very close to the hotel. If you walk out the front door of the hotel, turn right and turn right on the first street, you walk a little ways down and it is on the left. We ate there several times and enjoyed the food and staff.

During my stay at the Ambassador Hotel, I was pleasantly surprised by its ideal location in the heart of the city, surrounded by numerous restaurants, making dining out and culinary exploration incredibly convenient. The rooms, although not of the most modern style, are perfectly decent. They are clean, comfortable, and offer everything needed for a pleasant stay. For those looking for unbeatable value for money, this establishment is hard to beat. The true highlight of this hotel is its staff. Always smiling and willing to go above and beyond to meet guests' requests, they truly enhance the quality of your stay. In summary, the Ambassador Hotel is an excellent option for those who want to enjoy the city center while benefiting from warm hospitality and a competitively priced service.

We stayed at this hotel recently and had a mixed, but overall decent experience. Our initial room was spacious and fairly comfortable, but unfortunately, we had trouble sleeping due to noise from outside that went on until around 2 AM.||The staff were very understanding and accommodating — they promptly arranged a room change for us the next day, which we really appreciated. The new room was quieter and more restful, though the cleanliness could have been better. The bathroom didn’t feel as fresh as expected, and we noticed the cups and saucers hadn’t been replaced or cleaned properly, which was a bit disappointing.||That said, the staff were friendly, and it’s clear they tried to help where possible. Just a note for future guests — the hotel isn’t very flexible with late checkouts unless there’s an additional fee involved.

The staff was AWESOME. They were pleasant , helpful, and supportive. There was a funny smell in the room, the carpets appeared dirty, and the bed was somewhat uncomfortable. Other than that , the room offered a decent amount of space for two, and was supplied with an espresso machine and refrigerator. The location was fantastic, with a gorgeous view of the church. Only one star removed for the amount of noise from the street.

It was perfect Period our room was clean and the bathroom was just fine, that’s a big deal for me. Everyone that worked there went over and above, Especially Rolf At the front desk. Location was perfect right in the middle of Haarlem where all the action is. All in all, I would definitely stay there again

Yelp
This hotel is walking distance from several of the popular attractions, shops, and restaurants. The hotel staff are friendly, the lobby is nice looking, the room is spacious, and they have snacks available for sale at the front desk if you get hungry in the middle of the night. It's also a reasonable price. The only thing that's not worth the money is the optional breakfast. You're better off eating somewhere nearby. The desk in my room was also wobbly. Other than that, I had a great stay.

Yelp
This is a very pleasant four star, I think, hotel in the heart of old Haarlem. It is right next to the Great Church (my translation of Grote Kerk). It is a fair distance to drag a suitcase or two from the train station but about three blocks from the 300 bus from Schiphol airport. The room was small but comfortable, and the breakfast was expensive but extensive. The best thing was the location in such a beautiful little city.
