Thought I booked a 4-star hotel ... but it wasn't. The - probably once upon a time quite chic - hotel is now ran by good willing youngsters. And they don't have the faintest idea how to. Oh well, you have a roof over your head. And the L-shaped suite is very spacious. The bed sort of o.k. But the Jafar Jabbarli Street is a busy three lane city highway with day and night heavy traffic noises. Toilet not flushing. Bathroom mouldy. Furniture (chairs) mucky. No housekeeping. No sheets on the bed, just a blanket. WiFi signal rather faint. Breakfast poorly. Think they stuck this 4-stars sign on the building themselves. I would rate it 1 maybe 2-stars.

Worst experience cigarette smell all over the hotel and inside the room. Dirty linens, our check-in time was 2pm we went at 3pm and the room was not ready,we were made to wait 45 mins. Moreover during our 5 days stay we had to call the reception for every small thing like water bottle, soap, towel, empty glass, etc. There was no liquid soap in the bathroom for hand wash(have filmed the video but not able to upload in the review). The mattress with cigarette burns was also not changed during our 5 days stay even after multiple requests (photo uploaded in the review).

Absolutely perfect customer service from all the staff of this hotel. We traveled extensively in the Caucasus region and this hotel was literally the only place where we were truly welcomed. Everybody was super polite, the manager was extremely professional. Just because we came with a baby , we got upgraded to their suite, while we have only booked a standard double room. Restaurant was conveniently located underneath the hotel. Food was great. Breakfast was delicious and the variety was huge, so there was something for everyone. This hotel will be the reason for me to visit Baku again. I really started appreciating when people are polite after my Caucasus trip... there were so few places I visited and the staff were polite! I think the highlight of my stay at Amber hotel were the amazing views from our suite - our large balcony had a breathtaking views of Flame Towers and the city. The hygiene in our room was top notch - to be honest, I haven't ever seen so clean hotel room before. Keep up the good job!!!!

Located a 10-min drive away from the Old Town area. Rooms were not maintained well - we had curtains which were falling off from one side, a shower-head which didn't work, a loo pipe which was leaking. We reached late at night (around 10pm) and so looking for another hotel at that time wasn't an option. We'd booked a "Double or Twin Room" which was a decent sized room. The bed was twin-beds put together as a double bed - with the mattresses of different heights, so couldn't really be used as a double bed. The hotel had only 1 staff member when we checked-in - and he wasn't trained or equipped to assist us with anything other than check-in. The staff in the morning was more helpful, but we were checking-out then in anycase. Also faced an odd experience when we entered our room after a walkabout in the morning to find our room door open & two men in our room. They explained that they were doing a service check in all rooms on the floor. Odd that the Hotel wouldn't inform us about this and let non-housekeeping staff in like that. Breakfast spread was good. Overall, a 'no' to stay here - there are loads of other options in Baku in the same price range which would offer a better experience.

Where to start from! Really nice manager and staff! All the staff is polite (something you start appreciating after traveling around the Caucasus region) and helpful. |We got an amazing upgrade to their suite with an amazing view over the city and a lovely balcony. I'm super grateful er had the opportunity to stay in the suite since we were traveling with my 11 months old baby. They provided us with a nice wooden baby cot. |The thing that made me best impression in the room was the extremely high level of cleanliness. Absolutely mirror clean table! This is quite important when you travel with a baby. |Their restaurant is also very cheap and nice - we had breakfast that every morning and it was a complete buffet. They even have their homemade jams. We also had room service ordered from the restaurant - there you can expect some waiting time, but nothing extreme. |We also used their pick up service from the airport and also around the country + drive to Tbilisi with the same driver. I must say I'm grateful we got a Mercedes for those trips since we had a lot of luggage. There was also installed a baby seat in the car. |I'd definitely stay again in this hotel. Not because it is 4 or 5 stars, but because the people working there made us feel welcome and dis their best to satisfy all our needs! |Big thank you to the team of Amber hotel and especially to Emin who made our stay memorable.

I stayed in the Amber Hotel for 6 days. The pre arranged hotel driver met me at the airport even thought I arrived at 3 am. Upon check in the manager gave me a tour of the facility and was my go to guy for any questions on recommendations for food, tours etc. The room was clean and very fairly priced and quite comfortable for my stay. Everyone was so polite and helpful the Amber will be my choice when I return to Azerbaijan next year.

I stayed here for the europa league final. The staff were friendly, the rooms were a nice size & all in all it was clean. ||My only 2 gripes from my stay was: |1 arranged a pick up from the airport, the driver was waiting with 2 signs. So after a 14 hour journey I then had to wait 45 minutes for the other passenger. When we got to the hotel he charged us 30MAT each.. this annoyed me after a long flight. ||2 the toilet in the room was broken & constantly flushing which made it hard to sleep. ||Location of the hotel was pretty good, 10 minute walk to the shops & bars.
