A really neat boutique style museum with geological displays for its namesake rock and more. It nicely utilizes the colonial architecture of the building to create engaging displays and a high-end jewelry store is attached for you to peruse. I purchased some beautiful dual sided earrings for my wife. One side amber. The other larimar. They make a gorgeous set that she can alternate or coordinate with. Many other striking pieces are available and the staff at both store and museum are wonderful, friendly, and knowledgeable. Definitely stop in when you visit Zona Colonial.

It's a great visit in the Colonial Zone, with an interesting selection of pieces and explanation about what amber is. I particularly liked the part where they showed the different colored varieties. Staff was very friendly.

This was a cool place to visit. Small museum but packed with a lot of knowledge and history. If you can stop by please do

It was a wonderful experience. I liked how they just left us to roam around on our own and enjoy the pieces at our own pace while learning about their story and history from the cards that are both in Spanish and English. It was amazing to see how they encrusted the amber in the house's architecture. And the jewels are just stunning.

A great little museum! The building it is in is beautiful and the collection is well laid out. 100 DOP to get in so very reasonable. Plus it's right in the colonial section so close to everything! We spent an hour in there.

I've been the Santa Domingo many times and found this place recently down the street from my apart-hotel. It's a very nice little museum but a beautiful shaded center courtyard. There's a little spot to get drinks and relax as well as a very nice gift shop. The price is 100 pesos for $1 for adult kids are free. I cross-checked the prices of the things in the gift shop and they're priced fairly.

What an Experience and interesting facts about Amber mining and processing. The stories and the guides are mesmerising. Meeting with the owner Jorge was a honour and help from the team made our journey unforgettable… Highly recommended to visit..

Quick tour. Tickets were $2! Tour guild led us through the small museum and then let us wander back through it as we wanted to read each of the descriptions and watch the video. Very informative. She also didn't push us to buy anything at the end. Quick way to kill some time and learn something new
