Ambiente Hotel Freieck

After reading some of the reviews I was a little concerned. |We had a delightful stay at this hotel, nicely situated for the town and amenities. Lovely bathroom with walk in shower. Beds were very comfortable. Tea and coffee provided be ut paper cups but we also take our mugs etc. We stayed in 305 that over looked the pretty street, no noise to disturb. Staff very nice and very helpful and amenable. Delightful little bar which we used before going out for dinner and after. Doors locked at 10pm but access with key via back door. Breakfast was very adequate, although cooked could have been hotter. Good selection including fizz. Would definitely stay here again.

We absolutely loved staying at this hotel. It was a 10 minute walk from the train station in the old town near all cafes and restaurants. The staff at the reception was super friendly and professional. Both ladies, which names I can't recall were lovely upon our arrival and departure. The room was absolutely beautiful with large windows facing the church tower and the old town. The room was very big and comfortable. There was no a/c but it had two working fans, but there was such a nice breeze with those big windows that there was no need for a/c or fans. The bathroom was quite comfortable as well. The hotel was spotless. The included breakfast was absolutely terrific! We were only in Chur for one day , but if we had known what a beautiful Alpine city Chur was, we would have stayed an extra day.

Good location - not far from the train station. Quiet location. Friendly staff, great breakfast with sparkling wine. Large rooms - we had a bath - very welcome after a long day. Hotel has a bar on-site.

We stayed at this hotel in Chur for two nights. The cleanliness, the friendliness of the staff, and the breakfast were all very good. What I liked the most was the view from our room—it was beautiful. The only downside was that there was no parking available.

This hotel is a little on the quirky side|The decor is very eclectic and a bit dated but everywhere was clean |Bed linen was odd seersucker fabric....very 80's style|Our room was small and hot, with 2 free standing fans provided which moved hot air around. Likely during heat of mid summer its like an oven!|Bathroom was tiny too but shower was decent|Breakfast was ok, no eggs, no fruit|Reception Staff were friendly |Lots of bars and restaurants nearby within walking distance |Stn about 15 mins walk away

My wife and I spent one night here in Chur as a layover to get an early start the next morning on the Bernina Express train through the Alps. This turned out to be not only a real gem of a hotel but a beautiful Alpine town in it's own right! The hotel is a short distance from the train station. The city is very walkable and scenic with many wonderful cafes and shops. The hotel was spotless with all the needed amenities. The included breakfast was terrific with fresh cooked eggs and a vast selection of other breakfast staples. The staff were all friendly and super helpful for us. We totally enjoyed our stay here and wish we would have planned an extra day to explore the town more.

The staff and location was excellent. Breakfast was lovely and everything you could hope for from a family run hotel. It's a nice walk through the xmas market from the train station. 100% recommend.

Good points: clean room and decent shower. Lovely bread served at breakfast buffet with some very tasty jams. Short (uphill) walk from the station and on the edge of the Old Town. An old and interesting building.|Not so good: difficult for disabled with steps to climb to reach the lift. Breakfast was average. The note at the table needs to be more friendly. Boiled eggs were cold, and why were they in coloured shells? Just a gimmick. They do not offer alternative milks, but you can buy some in the Coop, and they’ll keep it in the fridge. The fresh fruit salad looked tired.

This hotel is absolutely fabulous. It is walking distance to the train station and in the heart of the old city center. Wonderful restaurants within walking distance. Great breakfast and very clean rooms with all the modern amenities. The owners are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They have operated this hotel for thirty years. They speak several languages, including English. You will not be disappointed staying here!
