Ambong Rainforest Retreat

had a wonderful stay at Ambong Ambong Rainforest Retreat. The setting is serene and peaceful, with the calming sounds of the rainforest all around. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. What really stood out was the excellent guest service — a special thanks to Nizar for being so friendly, helpful, and welcoming throughout my stay. If I could suggest one improvement, it would be to have better lighting in the room, as it was a bit too dim. Otherwise, a truly relaxing retreat — highly recommended!

We had a lovely stay at the rainforest retreat. In the midst of the jungle and with the background noise of the jungle, definitely a must visit place. A perfect break and a wonderful stay. |A very special mention to Prem and his team at Abong. They are the true gems of abong starting from the pickup, restaurant and every staff in abong is more than welcoming and ready to assist and make your trip memorable. |Highly recommended and will definitely come back.

Our family of four stayed in one of the 2 bed villas for three nights. We had a truly memorable stay, the staff are so friendly and helpful, the food was fantastic. At the rainforest retreat restaurant (RR) is vegan, I’m not vegan and was surprised how much I enjoyed every meal. Prem and Lee are so helpful, always on hand to give a lift to the Pool Villas or move our luggage. The RR is built on a very steep hillside which I wouldn’t have wanted to carry the luggage up and I think I’m fit!||There is a new gym on site, cardio machines and some free weights, my eldest daughter thought it was the best gym of the holiday, good air con and a panoramic view of the jungle.||My wife’s favourite part of our stay was the monkeys, there are multiple troops that live in the surrounding rainforest. The black ones are shy but noisy the brown macacs are very cheeky and will steal shoes and food.||AA RR is a very special hotel, we loved our stay there for many reasons and would definitely return.

What an absolute dream it has been to stay at the Among Rainforest Retreat. We stayed at the Singa Room with a magnificient view of the jungle and the sea. And yes, you will see some monkeys during your stay (but don’t worry, they don’t care about you if you don’t have food). But what really made the whole experience unique and magical was the staff. They are the kindest, hard-working and generous people you can find around here. A massive thank you to M. Nizal, Lee, Iba & Khai and the whole team for their kindness and making sure our time here was memorable. Words can not describe how thankful we are to have met such beautiful souls. If you hesitate to book a trip to Among because of its price, it’s worth every single cents.

This is our second stay at Ambong Rainforest Retreat as we enjoyed it so much the first time. This time has not disappointed. We had a different room this time with a wonderful view of the sea and surrounding forest. We could spot the wildlife from our balcony, seeing spectacled monkeys, giant squirrels and hornbills. It's quite high so lots of steps up to our room, but a free shuttle service is available both for lifts to and from your room and into town, it's very well run, you only need to ask and the response is immediate. The staff couldn't be more attentive, friendly and helpful. We even received a complimentary afternoon tea with sweet and savoury delights, this was an unexpected and very welcome bonus. The service here is much more personal than the bigger hotels making this place really special. Would definitely recommend.

Attended Ambong Ambong for a morning yoga retreat. We started with yoga for an hour and then had a vegan breakfast. The fruit they gave us was lovely. We then had a massage and it was the best massage my sister and I have ever had. Highly recommend.

I have left a full review on booking.com but had to leave one here too. By far the best hotel I have ever stayed in. Stunning setting, amazing food and the most attentive staff. We loved every second of our stay.

Great peaceful retreat. Quite steep to get to the rooms but they provide an on-demand shuttle. Very amazing management and staff, easy to talk to via WhatsApp, fast response times and overall really exceptional service. The view from the bedroom in the canopy suite is breathtaking. It is truly like being in the canopy.
