Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge

Here for a 2 night stay. Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge is a magical accommodation set in Amboseli National Park renowned for its elephant families and marshland birds. |Bungalow style rooms set in stunning gardens with far reaching views over the Park.|Simply furnished rooms with very comfortable beds and a bathroom housing all the essentials. |The staff here were all polite and friendly, many are from the Maasai tribe . |The restaurant and dining spaces all have authentic Kenyan artwork on the walls and the furnishings are traditional. |A fine array of food options with lots of authentic dishes. Essentially a self serve buffet. Chefs on hand to prepare fresh pasta and other meals if required.|A highlight was the bush barbecue.. amazing 8 course menu prepared and eaten outside under the stars. Highly recommend this experience. The private games drives were organised in house. This really is a very special accommodation, animals and nature are on the doorstep. Definitely one to experience.

This is truly a dream location we left Nairobi and travelled by train to Emali where we were picked up by the wonderful Joseph Our driver and guide for our visit. A wonderful welcome drink at reception at one of only 2 resorts in the reserve. We were shown to our beautiful room looking straight out onto the plains. The rooms are beautifully decorated in fact the entire camp is covered with stunning native artwork. The Maasai warriors protecting the camp and guests from some of the not so shy monkeys were kind warm and happy to share stories of their tribal culture and history. We enjoyed time relaxing by the beautiful pool and could actually see elephant walking by. The Lodge and gardens are serene and beautiful all the staff are very helpful courteous and friendly. Food in the restaurant is varied and excellent. With dishes to suit all tastes. Again helpful friendly chefs are around to tell you about the different food and a station where they cook for you. The game drives were amazing sunset sunrise we saw elephant so many and so close lions and many many more. Stunning views of Kilimangaro in the mornings. On our last evening we enjoyed the fabulous bush barbecue delicious food cooked right there under the stars and finished with beautiful singing and dancing of the Maasai . We collected some lovely souvenirs at the gift shop and had a delicious lunch box organised for our departure. This is a truly magical place for its location surroundings and excellent facilities most of all for the people the make the experience. I would definitely return and recommend staying here.

Unique and wonderful experience! The venue is stunning and accommodation comfortable and charming.it is undoubtedly the staff that made our stay magical and so memorable. Service was outstanding , all staff superb with a total commitment to customer care. The genuine friendliness was a joy. Catering services were excellent. The bush dinner was a wonderful experience . Such special memories! The nature walk was an amazing experience. Thank you so much to all the staff for a fantastic stay ! We would not hesitate to highly recommend this superb venue and hope to return! Asanti sana !

We stayed here for one night with the family. While the lodge benefits from being located inside Amboseli National Park, overall we were not too impressed compared to some of the other places we stayed during our trip.||The property is quite large, with many rooms and guests, which took away from the safari lodge feel. The buffet, especially at dinner, was very crowded and we often had to stand in long lines for food, which wasn’t ideal after a day of game drives.||The rooms felt a bit outdated, and the design could be improved — for example, the ceiling fan was not positioned above the bed, which made cooling less effective. The food was another disappointment; we found both the quality and the menu selection below expectations for a lodge of this scale and reputation.||Overall, the stay was acceptable mainly because of the location inside the park. However, if we were to visit Amboseli again, we would likely choose a smaller, more intimate camp or lodge for a better safari experience.

The road in is very rough but driver did a fantastic job and used side ‘gutters’ where he could. Room was good. Hot water excellent. Food was good but they insisted on seating us at the same table each night - however did allow us to sit outside one night. Staff were very friendly. Saw lots of elephants on our game drives!

We only ate lunch here (two days in a row), so can't comment on the rooms, etc., but the restaurant was just fine. Food was good, prices were fair for a lodge inside the park, and the best were the views; we enjoyed watching eles, baboons, impala and more, not too far away in the park, while we ate lunch. Watch out for the vervet monkeys, though: they'll try to steal your food! Ha.

Beautiful setting in the heart of the Amboseli Park. Good hospitality and clean rooms. The buffet was decent and the salad bar was excellent with a variety of options. The outlook is beautiful as you can sit by the pool, have a cocktail and watch the animals walking past. Definitely worth a visit.

We stayed for one night at Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge. The lodge store has a decent collection, and we enjoyed some shopping. The restaurant offered a good variety of meals, and the property is lively with monkeys around, adding a fun wildlife touch. The Wi-Fi is available only in the reception area, and the rooms do not have proper fans. We were initially given three separate beds, and only after our request did they join two beds. The manager mentioned they weren’t informed it was a family booking, only that it was for three pax. The room size felt small for a family with a child and was a bit depressing. Also, there was no phone or walkie-talkie in the room for communication, which would have been useful in case of emergencies. Overall, it’s a pleasant lodge with helpful staff, but families with kids should request room arrangements in advance and note the lack of in-room communication and cooling.
