Schloss Ambras Innsbruck is a beautiful and well preserved Renaissance castle that is rich in history and culture. We visited on St Stephen Day, the day after Christmas, and were pleasantly surprised by how quiet and uncrowded it was, making the experience very enjoyable and unhurried.
We purchased our tickets online on the same day, which was convenient and allowed us to enter without any issues. The ticket grants access to both the Upper and Lower Castle, each offering a different perspective of the site. Inside, you can explore impressive collections of art, armour, and historical artefacts, while learning about the Habsburg dynasty and the life of Archduke Ferdinand II. The spacious grounds and elegant interiors make Schloss Ambras a worthwhile visit, especially if you prefer a calmer and more relaxed sightseeing experience in Innsbruck.
