On a bit of a whim, we ended up at Ambrosia after our original restaurant couldn’t let us in due to a plumbing issue. It had been maybe 7 years since I’d last been there, and I was really hoping it would live up to my memory - and it absolutely did.
The food was excellent, served in a very cosy, family-run bistro setting. The pork belly was outstanding, with beautifully crispy skin and a juicy interior, and the lamb shank was cooked to perfection, the meat falling effortlessly off the bone. The wine list isn’t huge (worth flagging), but it’s perfectly adequate.
The staff were genuinely warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere was quiet, relaxed, and intimate -exactly what you want for a comfortable evening out. We’ll definitely be back.
