AMC Mayfair Mall 18

First time taking in a movie here. Saturday afternoon, so the theater wasn't full. Was disappointed that the popcorn was prepackaged, and there wasn't an option to add butter. That's why the 3 rating. Concession prices were typical, and they had a pretty good selection. They do keep it pretty clean. I didn't feel "sticky" on the armrest, cup holder, or under my feet. If you're following navigation to the theater, be aware it will lead you to the rear entrance of the mall. There's ample covered parking literally beneath the theater. You still have to enter the mall, and get to the closest escalator to get to the AMC entrance. Had i known I wasn't arriving at the theater entrance i probably wouldn't parked and entered near lower Nordstrom. All in all for a Saturday afternoon, a pleasant experience.

Haven't been here for a very long time. Came to see the prescreening of the update to the classic "How to Train Your Dragon". The theatre is on the second floor of the Mayfair Mall. Parked in the back of the mall, and took a quick escalator ride to the entrance. The lobby of the AMC is huge. Lots of space to mingle. I didn't get any refreshments, but plenty of other people were. Because this was a special event, you needed to stand in line and get validate your special invitation. That took a while (all those boy scouts), but wasn't the fault of the theatre. No lines for the regular customers. The theatre itself was very large. I have spend most of my recent movie going at the Marcus theatres, with the dream loungers. This theatre has the old/standard seating. It was fine. Comfortable, and no issues with the people next to me. After the movie, the theatre and the lobby looked like a popcorn tornado had come through. White kernels everywhere. I would come back.

Wonderful selection of stores on site. The security staff was profiling our children. They have a policy Friday-Sunday of no children 17 and under without their parents. We were all together in the food court. Our children were asked multiple times where their parents were and so were we. It was ridiculous! The other concerning part was seeing multiple kids without their parents who were not being targeted and asked questions. Otherwise, this is a beautiful facility and what a mall should be.

Once a month I take my granddaughter here and we really enjoy it. Theaters are clean and not crowded. Downside is 2 medium drinks & a popcorn is $25! That's way out of line. I took a star away for that.

Is it a giant theater? Yes! Are the screens crisp and large? Yes! The seats on the other hand are extremely uncomfortable compared to a Marcus theater and its colder than a Marcus theater. Yesterday was the first time I ever went to a AMC theater. I saw 2 movies back to back with my fiance because he is a massive cinephile and does movie reviews. We see 3 movies a month and sometimes see a movie multiple times while its in theaters. When you see movies as much as we do we dont except our asses to hurt during the first 15 minutes of sitting down. Also the chicken nachos and mozzarella stick options and the blackphone 2 popcorn bucket were all unavailable at this location yesterday. We saw blackphone 2 for the second time after seeing it already at a Marcus theater. We also saw Shelby Oaks because we wanted to support Chris Stuckmanns first big screen movie because he's just a good guy and wanted to see what he would bring to the name of horror. Shelby Oaks was playing in a smaller theater screen and multiple seats in the row that are tickets for were broken including ours so we had to move back to a different row and hope no one else had those seats. Over all it was just an unsatisfying experience that left much to be desired. I dont think we will be coming back anytime soon unless its for an imax movie which we will dred Im sure.

I got to the theater at 8 for an 815 showing. Waited in a ridiculous long line for food and got into the theater at 8:35. I thought it would be fine, because in my ticket email it said there'd be 25 - 30 min of previews. Imagine my surprise when entering the theater and the cold open of the show was ending. Thanks AMC for lying to me. Had you disclosed there wouldn't be previews, I'd have changed my plans accordingly. As it was, you ruined my date night.

Not sure what the quality of the other theatres are like but... Song Sung Blue opening day in a county and state that would come to see this movie was relegated to a theatre that was laser. In other AMC Theatres that I have been to, their laser theatres are still exceptional in picture and sound quality. Small screen and only heard sound from the screen not the wall speakers! And this was a film with music and singers!! Marty Supreme which has a lot of good buzz was in the theatre next to SSB. I'm going to assume that the picture/sound was the same. With screening rooms like the one it's a no-brainer why people are waiting for physical media and streaming. Apparently the few good theatres are only showing the latest Avatar. The staff I interacted with were very courteous and possessed excellent customer service skills. This is the only reason this AMC received 2 stars.

Old school seats are a bit tight for me. Was clean and well maintained. Food seemed a bit pricier than other chains and did not allow putting butter on partial fill of bucket, so soggy top and dry bottom.
