We have always had good luck with Select Registry in finding real gems for B&Bs but the Williams House has to be at the top. Artistically furnished with Southern charm and beautiful wood treatments, each room is a pleasure to see and relax in. Impeccably clean, functionally up to date, and wonderfully landscaped, it is a real treat just to sit on the veranda and watch the world go by. We had to change rooms at the last minute because of an air conditioning failure (thunderstorm fried the electronics) but she found us one of her most popular and desirable rooms to switch us to without any fuss. We were all fortunate in enjoying her gourmet breakfasts served on elegant china and featuring herbs from her gardens. Adding to all this, the Innkeeper's positive and welcoming energy in formulating just the right plans for her guests to enjoy their stay is a winning combination. We look forward to a repeat visit .

We don’t two wonderful nights at The Williams House. Our room was perfect and elegantly decorated as was the main house. Veronica was so attentive and offered suggestions for our days. She provided an extensive list of her favorite restaurants which was very helpful. The two course gourmet breakfasts were out of this world. We definitely would return to Amelia Island to The Williams House.

My Mom and I had a wonderful mother-daughter weekend at the Williams House Inn last month. Veronica is the perfect host: completely welcoming, engaging, and fun to talk with. She was great about answering all of my questions before and during our trip. Our room was super comfortable and well-thought out. The main house is beautiful and interesting, and there is the most beautiful old oak right across the street from the inn. We really took advantage of the inn’s great location and walked into town on multiple occasions for dinners and shopping. (Be sure to follow Veronica’s recommendations!). Being able to quickly grab a couple beach chairs from the inn’s collection was also a big plus. As many have said, the breakfasts were amazing - truly outstanding - definitely a highlight of our trip. Veronica was accommodating of my dietary preference, and it was fun to speak with our fellow guests each morning. (My Mom is tough-to-please, so obviously I was thrilled I received an A+ for my selection of the Williams House - thanks Veronica!). If you are headed to Amelia Island, Williams House Inn is a fantastic place to stay.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Williams House B&B over the 4th of July weekend. The property is magical and our room was beautiful. Veronica's attention to detail and attentiveness were top notch! We were swept away to a time long ago from the beginning and as we continued to learn more about the history of the property. Pure joy! Thank you for creating a beautiful space and an incredible experience! Looking forward to our next stay.

Being frequent Amelia Island/ Fernandina travelers, we had not stayed at the Williams House before this July 4th weekend! We did a spur of the moment trip and SO SO glad we did! Veronica is the BEST Hostess! Quiet accommodations: sit on the front porch swing with a glass of wine in the late afternoon before dinner- or early morning quiet time- it's lovely. We walked everywhere in the downtown area to have dinner, explore, etc. Definitely recommend one of the first floor rooms in the Hearthstone House- we stayed in Catherine's Chamber.

We had a great time for our "girls getaway". We were greeted with a warm welcome by Veronica upon arrival and she took the time to meet the four of us and ask about our preferences. She brought us to our rooms and gave us a very personal introduction to the area. The Williams House is filled with special touches. There is relaxing music playing as we entered the Hearthstone House with a coffee/tea set up for convenience. I stayed in Isle Of Santa Maria, a beautifully furnished room with a massive bathroom with a makeup magnifying mirror- another nice touch you don't get at a hotel. Breakfast was outstanding both days. On a beautifully set table of old china, we had a delicious 2 course meal, starting with yogurt and fruit. Banana bread French toast with sausage was amazing. Day 2 was even better with quiche and the most amazing biscuit. We walked to dinner both nights and there a several upscale and casual options. Fernandina is a quaint town with great shops. It was the perfect setting for our Girls Getaway! Thank you, Veronica, for a wonderful stay. We'll be back!

I am always trying to bring a smile to her face, a twinkle to her eye. With the help of Veronica, the owner and innkeeper of the impeccably furnished and immaculately clean Williams house i was able to do just that. From the warm welcome, to the roses and champagne she procured for us it was perhaps the most magical evening we've ever had. She is always so stubborn about me going overboard to impress her but on this occasion she was left speechless. I would recommend this inviting, cozy, magnificent house to anyone that wanted to feel at home no matter the distance from your own pillow. Everything was beyond perfect! The breakfast was superb...I wanted so bad to pull out the phone to take a picture but did not want to spoil the moment looking across the table at my lovely friend who was still beyond words from the night before. From start to finish a top notch experience. And thank you again Veronica!

From the moment we pulled into the parking spot and walked into the main house, we knew we would probably be coming back. Within five minutes of checking in and conversing with Veronica we had made the decision to come back. The room (Southern Memories) was beautifully furnished. It was impeccably CLEAN. The bathroom was absolutely BEAUTIFUL! The soaps and other toiletries she provides are lovely! My husband enjoyed a wonderful bike ride with the bikes they have available, and afterwards we enjoyed what was the best dining experience of our lives at David’s Restaurant and Lounge (Veronica’s recommendation.) Our breakfast this morning was SUPERB. It was beautifully plated and I felt like I was eating with Queen Charlotte on bridgerton 😂 My husband and I decided to take this trip super last minute and it was the best decision we could’ve made!! We are already planning our next trip back here and our stay at the Williams House. Thank you so much Veronica, for your hospitality, for making us feel at home and for making our 3rd wedding anniversary one to remember! ❤️

Yelp
Staying here at The Williams house made my time on Amelia's island just that much more Devine ! Veronica the owner made us feel at home our entire stay . Bed & breakfast stays are winning me over each and every time I stay at one. You meet new people and you wake up to a 2 course brunch every morning which is always nice . Veronica goes into detail about every dish every morning which I could appreciate . Also a fun fact is this cute bed n breakfast is in correlation with the Underground Railroad so it's history there . I loved that The Willams House is located right in the heart of downtown area. Everything was in walking distance from there . The entire house and rooms gave off vintage from the furniture, set up , equipment and more . It's been rumored that it's haunted here we didn't experience any likeliness of that so I'm sure it's all just rumors . I 10/10 recommend!

Yelp
Fantastic place to stay. Walk to restaurants & shops. Breakfast is fantastic (both the food and the gorgeous place settings). Sit on one of the many porches or courtyards with a wine and enjoy the breeze and birds. It's a lovely house with a lovely owner who is most accommodating. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Our getaway to the Williams House could not have been better! The warm and welcoming atmosphere and owner, Veronica, made the entire two days feel so spectacular. The gourmet breakfast, the wine at happy hours, the homemade cookies and unbelievable beautiful rooms and decor really made you stop and appreciate your days. The thoughtful additions and touches to the rooms did not go unnoticed. I would highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast to anyone who may be interested!

Yelp
The owner, Veronica, is quite the strange bird but also a nasty anal retentive bitch! She treated us like dirt. We trued to check in 1 hour early to which she stated no way, room not ready (b.s.) I've owned a B&B so I know..& when we showed up at 3 pm check in time..she wouldn't even let us sit in parlor as she checked in the other guests!! Told us to wait outside on the porch!! Total. Bitch. I then gave her a gift upon check in & bought her another gift b/c I had felt bad fir trying to reschedule due to a lot of rain.. she texted me that she was uncomfortable accepting the gift! I knew then that she was gonna be trouble. She made us wait 15 min b/c she insisted we HAD TO SIGN A WAIVER TO USE THE BIKES!!! WTH!? Then after we checked out she ran our credit cards without our permission for $166 b/c she said we ruined 2 face towels & stole a coaster.. which we did not. We did put a coaster on balcony & she prob missed that.. HORRIBLE OWNER, CHEAP!! She charges a fortune but no fridge in room & ice machine nowhere near our room!! Do. NOT. GO. TO. THIS. OVERPRICED. B&B!!!

Yelp
Veronica , the owner, has done a beautiful job with this Historical home. It's kept pristine. Breakfast is out of this world which shows the care that's put into it. Rooms are sufficiently updated to keep their original feeling. We loved it and highly recommend !

Yelp
The Inn is a treasure. The rooms, grounds and food have complex details to enjoy. The staff are well trained and seem to enjoy the hospitality side of this business. Bikes, beach towels and chairs are available to guests. Comfortable bed and plenty of hot water. David's Restaurant is next door on Ash, the lounge bar was able to accommodate us without a reservation. A block away is the Schoolhouse Inn with a onsite cozy bar for a evening event. Staff directed guests to the Saturday Farmer's Market to enjoy.

Yelp
My family, a few friends, and I all stayed a long weekend here for my wedding, and we could not have had a better time. They had bikes we could ride around the island, we walked to town in a matter of minutes, and we really enjoyed time on the porch outside! Chris and Maria are a lovely couple and care so much about the house. We even got a history lesson the day after the wedding! They have wedding packages for up to 50 people, and Maria does an amazing job of decorating. The breakfast is amazing, and they really go outside the box of eggs and sausage (like braised pear which was my favorite dish). We're hoping to keep coming back every year to enjoy their hospitality and the island! I'm really thankful!

Yelp
Wonderful Bed & Breakfast! Very charming and romantic. We thoroughly enjoyed it and everything was just perfect! Thank you Chris and Maria

Yelp
A friend and I stayed for a girls weekend trip. We stayed in Emma's Room or the carriage house. We loved the room, great location for walking to down town. Close to a really good micro brewery. Veronica was a very welcoming hostess and I will be back. I might have forgotten to mention the amazing breakfasts she prepared each morning. You won't be disappointed

Stacy W.

Yelp
Wonderful place to stay! Room was very clean and spacious! The most amazing breakfast every morning! Will definitely be back!! The innkeeper was more than helpful, and she referred us to outstanding restaurants, fun things to do, and even offered to purchase tickets to a local concert for us in advance of our arrival. We cannot say enough about this excellent bed and breakfast, one of the best that I have ever been to in the States.

Yelp
Second stay at Williams House. Nicely appointed and fresh flowers everywhere. Rooms are clean but decor is dated. Smuggler's Cove has a lovely private porch with hot tub. Would recommend complimentary water in rooms or in the community refrigerator. While I prefer to stay closer to the beach when I am in this area, the Williams House is a good location with an energetic host who is eager to please.

Yelp
I must say you cannot get any better than this. From check in to check out this was by far one of the nicest places I have stayed in years. The room was spotless this house has so much amazing history it's truly unbelievable. The host and hostess are truly amazing people and love what they do the gourmet breakfast was also amazing. Location is also perfect a short walk to everything. A+

Yelp
Had a wonderful weekend with my husband for our anniversary. Stayed Friday and Saturday night in the King Ferdinand suite. The room was beautiful, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was 5 star. The hosts, Chris and Maria, do an amazing job of making you feel comfortable and welcome. The best part is their extensive knowledge of the history of the oldest house in Fernandina Beach and the local community. Will return and recommend with highest rating. 5 Star is not enough. Jennifer and Keary.

Yelp
This Bed & Breakfast was exactly what my husband and I needed after not seeing one another for 8 months due to our military service. Chris & Maria think of everything - there's not one special detail they miss. Only small constructive criticism is the hot water - with the showers we would run out of it rather quickly. But that's to be expected with an older home. Would immediately recommend to anyone for a nice, relaxing, romantic visit to Amelia Island.

Yelp
I had such an amazing stay at the Williams House! Maria and Chris are fantastic hosts and the Williams House is such a beautiful place. I highly recommend the tour of the house, provided by Maria. I still can't stop thinking about it. She had me in tears. She's a great storyteller and the story she weaves of the Williams Family is so beautiful. I will be back someday.

Reid B.

Yelp
What an amazing place! Chris and Maria really create an unforgettable experience. The house is spectacular, the gourmet breakfast is excellent, but their love of what they do really creates an environment that is just incredible. I proposed to my girlfriend, now fiancé, in Amelia Island this weekend and Chris was instrumental in helping me streamline my plan. He even did some location scouting for me since we're up from south Florida! Make sure to take Maria's tour of Williams House, her extensive knowledge of its history and the history of the area really made the experience come together. We stayed in the "Smuggler's Cove" room and it was just perfect! Plenty of room, a comfortable bed, all the amenities you could ever need... and a private balcony with a hot tub. Yes, you read that right. A hot tub. In fact, it's the only remaining pre-civil war hot tub in the country! I can't recommend their bed and breakfast highly enough. I'm not a guy who leaves reviews, but a weekend here is an experience you'll always remember. I know we'll be back! Thanks so much Chris and Maria!

Yelp
The drive up to Amelia Island from Orlando is an amazing experience and you can really see the scenery change as you get closer to the coast. I find the entire town almost as if it was lost in time - cobblestones and brick houses. Tranquility. It's magical. Everything closes early - around 5. This is of course perfect as one can walk on the beach and enjoy the serendipity Amelia Island offers. The air is fresh, everything is unpolluted. Williams House is a big contributor to this environment. Rich in history with intricate decor and top notch hospitality..everything is perfect. This B&B offers 3 meals as well as afternoon tea (with wine and cheese and crackers) and midnight snacks (biscuits, tea). Writing this review almost makes me feel nostalgic. I can't wait to return here. PS We stayed in the Princess Amelia Room

Yelp
Wonderful Bed and Breakfast! We were amazed at the history of the house, and our hosts, Chris and Maria did an excellent job explaining it's history and serving up some world class breakfasts. We would highly recommend this experience. Of course, we will always be partial, we were married in the courtyard, and took a beautiful carriage ride through the town afterwards. We will be back year after year.

Vanessa D.

Yelp
Excellent hosts. Tasty food. Great location (walking distance from the most popular street and a bike ride to the beach). I worried about it being too far from the beach, but it's in a more visitor friendly area than the area immediately surrounding the beach. Hosts provide a rich history of the Williams House and have bikes available for your use. We met many interesting and friendly guests. Great restaurants on the island- tons of great food within a short and lovely 10 min walk.

Yelp
This is a great bed and breakfast located a little outside of the tourism area. The rooms are very nice, clean, and spacious. The stuff is very nice and knowledgeable about the history of the house. They serve a sit down breakfast every morning. The breakfast was very good. We will definitely make another stop to this B&B.

Yelp
Excellent place to stay! Owners , Chris & Maria are accommodating and friendly! Convenient location, delicious breakfast and will definitely recommend to others.

Yelp
A great B&B. The owners, Chris and Maria really care about their guests and go out of their way to be accommodating, The breakfasts are great, the rooms very comfortable and the location is perfect to walk to the historical district. It is a short drive to the beach and they provided beach towels? Chairs and an umbrella. They thought of everything. The house itself, built in 1856 is full of history!

Nicole T.

Yelp
OUTSTANDING!!!! Chris and Maria are the owners and make your stay an incredible experience. The breakfast they serve every morning is delicious and take into consideration food allergies! They make everything so personal by calling you by your first name and are extremely hospitable! I would recommend this place the anyone!

Yelp
We stayed from 10/24-10/26/15 and had an amazing time! The B&B is beautiful and we loved our room, Chloe's Garden. The owners, Chris + Maria, were wonderful - great breakfast, great tour/history of the B&B, and lots of "hospitality"...we look forward to staying there next time we are in the area!:-)

Alana H.

Yelp
Chris and Maria made our first b&b experience so wonderful! They are so warm and welcoming to their guests. The Williams House has an interesting history and is impeccably preserved. Maria is a wonderful story-teller and is incredibly knowledgeable about the homes history. Each breakfast was delicious and unique. Our room was beautiful and included some original vintage pieces. We are excited to return in the future!

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here for 5 days back in March....and I am sorry it has taken me this long to write a review. This was only our second time staying at a B&B, but The Williams House is top notch. We stayed in the Smugglers Cove, and took full advantage of the hot tub every night. What a treat! We played golf a few days- but the breakfast we did eat was amazing. Gourmet cooking in a beautiful setting. The porches are great for a glass of wine in the evening, and the town has many great local places to eat. We loved Amelia Island and will definitely be back.
