Hotel is really nice. Room was very clean. I never tried the breakfast or the pool. It was typhoon season so it rained constantly. The guard would always offer me an umbrella when I went for a walk. It is near many convenience stores and is easy to get around. I felt very safe during my stay. I recommend this hotel.

PROS: Large room. |CONS: Slightly seedy area, but safe. |LOCATION: Close to Robinson’s mall. ||REVIEW| Stayed twice, first time in March-2024 for 2 nights in deluxe room without breakfast and again in Aug-2024 for 2 nights in “Deluxe 1” room, the second day with breakfast. || Hotel has 2-lifts plus doorman but not a porter. || On entering the room, there is a very very long hallway from the door to the bedroom area. Room with window, kettle and cups but no coffee or tea the first time, second time coffee supplied. Safety box in room. Slightly cramped in that bathroom door opens inwards to almost touch toilet, but shower cubicle spacious.| Glanced at rooftop pool, appeared to be small.|| Wifi voucher expires daily.|| Second visit one day I was out from 9am to 2pm and room was not cleaned but I was telephoned at 16:19pm and asked if I wanted the room cleaned !|| Had breakfast for one of my combined 4 days (Juice, 2*fruits, coffee no tea, champorade, cereal, 2*meat, 1*veg and rice. Egg station for scrambled eggs). || Few minutes walk to Robinsons mall located at end-of-road.|Slightly seedy area with touts trying to take you to KTV bars.|| Check-in deposit required but refunded in full both times following a room check on checkout.

Great option to stay in Amelie hotel. spacious rooms, firm bed, superb service and friendly staff that always wear a smile. Free breakfast is something to look forward to. lots of options, fruits and veggies. enough to complete the start of your day. Thank you Amelie and Braska will definitely be back next time.

I was disappointed to find blood stains on the bed topper (hidden under a bed pad) in my room at Amelie Hotel. This is a serious hygiene issue and unacceptable for a paid accommodation. I reported it to the staff, but they failed to find me another room which was clean. I left that very night.||While the hotel has friendly front desk staff, cleanliness must be prioritized. I expect better sanitation standards, especially given the price. Proceed with caution if you’re particular about hygiene.

Unsanitary Bedding – Blood Stains Found I was disappointed to find blood stains on the bed topper (hidden under a bed pad) in my room at Amelie Hotel. This is a serious hygiene issue and unacceptable for a paid accommodation. I reported it to the staff, but they failed to move me to a cleaner room. While the hotel has friendly staff, cleanliness must be prioritized. I expect better sanitation standards, especially given the 3 star rating. Proceed with caution if you’re particular about hygiene.

I stayed at Amélie Hotel for three nights and was very impressed! The room was very spacious and clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The location is also superb as you're steps away from Robinsons Place and within walking distance of Manila Bay and the historic Malate Church. The only thing I can complain about is the noise from the bars in the neighbourhood and other guests, who would be talking loudly in the halls at 3 and 4 AM, none of which is the hotel's fault. Just beware that the hotel seems to be popular with groups of men, who apparently enjoy the city's nightlife. The meals at Braska were also fantastic! They make delicious Filipino and continental food. Highly recommended!

Amelie Hotel is in an excellent location, just opposite Robinson's in Malate, which is very convenient. The surrounding streets also come to life at night time if you like to visit bars or clubs. There is a PHP1,000 cash deposit required when you check in, even if you have pre-paid for the room. The rooms are decorated and furnished with a lot of black, which tends to make them quite dark, even with all lighting on (although there was one light above the kettle station that we could not turn off all night, even after trying every switch we could find). One of our lights did not work at all but I couldn't be bothered reporting it as we were only staying for one night. You couldn't really open the curtains much during the day either because there was no sheer curtain behind the thicker curtains, meaning surrounding buildings can see straight into your room. The wi-fi setup was both unusual and flawed. Upon check-in you would receive a slip of paper with a wi-fi access code for each person - one device each. I don't know about you, but we have a mobile phone each AND either a laptop or a tablet each. This was frustrating when we learned we could not use the codes on more than one device - we had to go down to reception and request extra device codes, which was a hassle. The wi-fi speed was pretty poor anyway, around 3 or 4 mbps. Breakfast, which requires each guest to sign in individually, was quite limited but I did appreciate the decor and the soft jazz background music. The fruit juices are the made-from-powder varieties, which is common in Philippines; the bitter aftertaste always gives it away. Tea and coffee. Well, coffee really because there are no tea bags, too bad if (like me) you don't drink coffee. Not only that, but you are limited to TWO coffees/creamers/sugar PER ROOM PER DAY. This means a couple are allowed ONE CUP per day and you have to pay for any more. This is really penny-pinching behaviour and something I have not seen in any other hotel anywhere, ever. You will also need to pay for any extra towels or linen. The mostly young staff are very friendly and helpful but their job is made harder by some very silly decisions made by management and/or owners.

Yelp
So this place was nice. The staff was accommodating & pleasant. Breakfast was enjoyable every morning. Somewhat meager, yet surprisingly sufficient enough. I wish the choices were better. But, there were a lot of roach-looking bugs in the dining area most days I went to breakfast. I saw some crawl on the breakfast rolls on the table. At the end of my stay, the front desk accused me of stealing towels. The housekeeping only put one set in my room on the last night of my stay since they knew I was staying there solo. I'll be checking my credit card bill just to make sure no funny charges come up... I won't be going back & I don't recommend the hotel due to the erroneous accusation. Extremely rude of them to do & done in very poor taste.

Yelp
I'm giving this place 5 stars, not because it's perfect, but it gave me enough reason to be deserving. The location is on a congested narrow street, but don't be deceived. It is near a shopping mall, which means it is just a few yards away from basic necessities, including varieties of food to indulge in. Upon entering, the lobby welcomes with quietness, cleanliness and tranquil mood. Just what I like--a place to get away from the disorders and the undesirables. Did I mention this place was clean? Hotel has a pool, a small one, up on the roof; has a small weight room. Parking is probably the downside on this hotel. I noticed that on booking websites, they would label hotels (in the Philippines) as "free parking", but forgetting or ignoring the specifics like: is there really a SUFFICIENT parking lot or space to accommodate its guests? Or is it "free" because it is partly, if not wholly, street parking? Although I had no issue about parking with Amelie, this might be a problem to some. What I saw as available parking spaces were the 5 or 6 spaces in front of the edifice--first come, first served type of thing. The hotel has friendly staff. No problem there, too. They even would've allowed us to have a late check out until 2 PM, no additional charge. That was nice of them. Price was fair. I wouldn't mind staying here again.

Yelp
Wow. We stayed here for two nights on our way to Palawan. I stay in hotels a lot for work in the US and I must say, this hotel rivals even the nicest hotels in the USA. Very clean, beautiful rooms, wonderful staff, great breakfast AND AMAZING in room massages available. Bonus is that this hotel is so reasonably priced and SO CLOSE to Robinsons Mall, Rizal Park as well as the water. Highly recommend!

Yelp
My non-profit organization was having a culminating evening event at this hotel after an "Amazing Race"-type full-day activity, which I was not a part of. I wanted to join in the festivities, but was having second thoughts about coming from Mandaluyong and going to Malate on a Saturday night. Arriving at Amelie Hotel took away all those doubts, however. I was skeptical to the venue of our party, since being non-profit kinda means you have to be doubly cheap, but we must have somehow gotten a great deal at a pretty swanky boutique hotel. When you come in, the first thing you see are these futuristic elevators. Elevators shouldn't be the focal point of a hotel or a review, but damn are those elevators fancy as hell. The design's very Tron-like, and they even talked! I didn't get to see much of the lobby before we had to be whisked away to the event space, which was pretty sweet. The roof deck was multi-level and though the topmost area didn't have lights (which I hope they get to install soon), they had a great view of Malate. They even had a pool! It was tiny though, more like a jacuzzi, better suited for poolside banter rather than actual physical activity. Our food was catered by the hotel, which was a'right. They have a restaurant, which I didn't get to experience, unfortunately, but I did get to go into a room, which was beautifully decked out in minimalist chic. And for a four-person two-bed accommodation, it had a pretty good space still. I've been in tinier, likely more expensive hotel rooms. Okay, I can't vouch for the cost of this one, but remember again that I started with the word "non-profit" here. If you have to shack it up at the Malate area, Amelie might be good for a try, if only for general gorgeousness.
