Where, where should I start? I stayed 3 nights in a suite in this “business focused hotel”. |The LOBBY: 1/5. You don’t have a lobby. It’s just two “one-person sofa”, or two big cushy chairs.|The BAR/RESTAURANT: There is a bar that communicates with the hotel. Coco’s. It is closed during “siesta”, which is a peculiar thing to do if you are a “business focused hotel” (as one employee told me). It opens at 5 pm. I sat there at 5:05. No one. Came back at 5:20. They took my one black coffee order at 5:35 (yes, there was no one there. The only employee arrived with me at 5:20 and ignored me for 15 minutes. He even set the outside tables before heading to my table). I was served by 5:37. At least the service was fast. Loved the punctuality.|The SUITE: 2/5 I booked a suite. In Tucuman, in spring, you can enjoy temperatures of 40 degrees Celsius (as I was able to enjoy). There were only two towels. I asked for more towels to the reception and they brought them quickly. The thing is, when you are staying in a place as hot as Tucumán, you should at least leave more towels in the room. In the hotel’s pictures of the suite you can see a suit-hanger, we didn’t have one. The bathroom was ok. The suite was one of those rooms where you have to slide and leave your key in a tiny plastic “key holder” (I don’t know how to call this thingies) as soon as you enter the room. But when you are leaving, the power will go off instantly. C’mon, guys. Really? Ask an electrician to install a delay or something, so I can still have the lights on for 30 seconds while leaving the room. It’s okay, I get it, I cannot leave my electronics charging in the room while I’m gone. Very 4-“starish”. The bedroom was fine, the living room was ok. It’s just like in the hotel pictures. My security box was unable for use when I arrived. The hotel should check that kind of things. I called the front desk and they quickly came to the room and fixed this. Probably the worst suite I have ever booked on a 4 star hotel.|The BREAKFAST: 0/5 Why? Why? Oh my god. It was dreadful. The silverware and cups were either filthy or wet, when any was available. There were crackers being served in jars. A couple of old and hard croissants, cheese, a horrible ham, and some pastries which belonged to a fraternity kitchen, not a 4 star hotel. Some fruit salad, that looked old the three days I had breakfast there. And that was it. Coffee, of course, and whole milk (if you wantedskimmed milk you are in the wrong hotel). The breakfast saloon was small and uncomfortable. No eggs, no sausages, no bacon.|The LOCATION: 5/5. Best location you can ask for in Tucumán if you are there for business. Easy and fast access (unlike other hotels which are in the pedestrian and semi-pedestrian areas of downtown). Next to some great restaurants, drugstores, pharmacies and fast food.|The ELEVATORS: 4/5. Two elevators for 49 rooms, that’s a good ratio. But, you should install up and down buttons. It’s a “business focused hotel”. If I’m staying in the second floor and I want to leave the hotel, why do I have to go to the seventh floor after calling the lift (this happened to a gentleman actually while I was at the hotel). Call the same electrician that you used to fix the power in the rooms, maybe you can get a discount.|The LAUNDRY: 5/5. Fast and efficient. And cheap. They should charge more, actually.|The FRONT DESK: 2/5 Here’s the thing. If the attention in the front desk depends solely on the good will and professionalism of the people there, if you don’t have a job manual, minimum standards everyone should follow and acknowledge, you arein trouble. The first night I asked for a car so I could go back to the airport, pick someone up and then return to the hotel. They called a remisse, a private car with chauffeur, which was excellent. I asked for some pillows out of the pillow menu at night and they kindly sent pillows to my room. I asked for recommendations for cabs, neighborhoods, etc. it was excellent. There was one particular gentleman, in the night shift, which was not at the level required for the task. I told him I wanted a late check out (paying for it, of course), he told me to ask for it the next day, because. Yep, just because. I want to know if I will have to make my bag in the morning or if I can sleep a little more. That’s the whole idea about the late check out. He explained that Amerian is a “business focused hotel” so maybe there was no availability for the late check out. I also asked him, the night before that, for some information about medical care in the city and he suggested to me I should google it. And, cherry on top, when living the hotel I asked for a car to go to the airport. They called a cab, which didn’t have seatbelts. Yes, that is correct. No seatbelts. Hooray for the cab company that Amerian works with. And it costed me the same the private car charge me the first night.||TLDR:|Never again. Bad breakfast, mediocre room, a lot of details unattended. A “business focused hotel” that doesn’t understand the first thing of business.
