Delicious Italian food. Excellent service. Do not come here if you are in a rush.

My husband and I have been here twice just this month, with plans to go again soonish! This place has great food, great service, and I love the atmosphere! They especially do great sauces. I personally recommend the Scarpetta appetizer and the clam chowder soup. Also, try the tiramisu, it's amazing! Also, my husband both times got the fettuccine gamberetti e salsiccia and loved it so much, and especially the sauce that it comes in!

I'm so disappointed in this place. They get three stars for being decently priced and friendly, but decent prices for so-so food aren't anything remarkable. We ordered a calzone and a BLT for pick up. Maybe they treat their pick up orders differently or were rushed for lunch, but our calzone was undercooked and the blt was a disaster all around. Bacon was thin and overcooked and the bread was inexcusable. You'll see in the pics that they used the end bread piece and overoasted it so they turned it inside out, to have a burnt side inside and untoasted at all on the outside. I know we're in a tight economy, but for $17 , two inside pieces of bread is not a lot to ask for. Definitely will not be returning. Actually, let me deduct another star bc 3 is average and this was far below average or acceptable.

Lots of parking. Looks small from the outside but when you go inside it is very roomy. Its summer time, so it was about 100 plus outside. Inside was perfect temperature. Greeted by waitress who was very attentive and friendly. There was 4 of us and we all tried something different. Montebello chicken, Carnivore Calzone, spicy chicken Rigatoni, Raviolis. The food is well priced and big Servings. My wife and daughter could have split one plate and it would have been fine. If you are in the area and looking for something different. This is the place to go.

WOW! We just happened on this restaurant in Ceres and it blew our socks off! Great service. Really delicious bread! Amazing dinner!!! Great menu! Who knew that Ceres had THIS!

We were recommended this place by a friend and we were pretty impressed with the service and the flavor of the food. The bread is absolutely amazing and the sauce tasted fresh and was hot. Also important is the customer service. Marisol was an amazing hostess and server. If you go, just tell her Nelson sent you 😜

Their food and service is great. I had the spinach ravioli’s this afternoon and My boyfriend got the fettuccini broccoli. Both came out to $36. The food came out quick and hot. They also give free bread as an appetizer, which was delicious. Our waitress was friendly and attentive.Overall the food was great, service was great, and the pricing was good. We left full and happy.

I've been looking for real Italian food for 20 year s near Turlock. Omg! This place is amazing. Isabel our server was great. From the bread to the salad, perfect. Brushetta was amazing, main courses were beyond delicious. I will be back many more times. I have a huge family. Lol Ambiance was warm and welcoming. Compliments to the chef!

Impeccable service of two delicious dishes including special of the day. Bread and balsamic vinegar and oil prepared our palettes for the delicious shrimp canellini special and exquisite chicken pesto canzone. We were serenaded by mid-afternoon violin virtuosio.

American Italian Bistro offers a classic Italian dining experience with a structured service flow, but there are areas that could be improved. Cleanliness & Atmosphere (3/5) The decor was nice, with paintings of Italy adding an authentic touch. However, nothing really stood out except for a Christmas tree still up in March. Some tables weren't cleaned, and the floors had food debris, which took away from the dining experience. Including under our table as well. Service (4/5) The server was friendly but seemed new and unfamiliar with the menu and seemed like she was the only one on shift with no help. Service followed a structured order, with bread first, then salad, followed by entrées. The overall wait time for entrées was about 30 minutes, which was a little longer than expected. Food & Flavor (4/5) Bread & Olive Oil Sauce - Soft and fresh, paired with an olive oil and vinegar mix with seasonings. It was decent but nothing extraordinary. Side Salad - Basic and not very presentable, but it tasted fine. Chicken Parmesan (Half & Half Sauce) - A great portion size for $23.99. The mix of marinara and Alfredo sauces worked well, and the chicken was well-cooked. Great dish. Seafood Ravioli - $20.99 for only five raviolis. They were amzing in flavor, but a slightly larger portion would have made the price feel more justified. Value & Pricing (4/5) The portion sizes were inconsistent. The chicken parm was well worth the price, but the seafood ravioli could have been larger or included more pieces. Final : (4/5) American Italian Bistro delivers solid Italian food with generous portions for some dishes, but cleanliness and presentation need improvement. The service was friendly, but more experience would enhance the dining experience. The flavors were enjoyable, but portion sizing and overall atmosphere kept it from reaching a perfect score. Food was amazing! Our server Gloria was awesome! We Definitely will be going back! We had gotten the calamari forgot to take picture of it and the bread with oil and balsamic vinegar! Yum! I can go on and on!!!

Everything was AMAZING!! The food:Delicious. The service: On point Prices: Affordable The Ambiance: Romantic takes you away... Clam chowder was awesome our salad was very fresh. Walking in the ambiance was interesting the decor did give off an interesting vibe but wasn't bad. I did find it weird seeing pepper on the table. Either way we ordered our food and an appetizer. Our appetizer was crab cakes and they tasted great I'm not a fan of their usual softness but here it was more fried and hard outside. The complimentary bread tasted great as well. Our main course were okay nothing outstanding but relatively fine. In regards to our service we went at around 4:30 to miss the dinner rush. Our server was lackluster not checking on us more than twice for us being there for 2 hours. Even though we were one of three party's of two that were there. I will return and need a second visit to recommend visiting

I was a pleasant surprise, a gem ! We all order different dishes and all exceed our expectations: creamy salsas, Chopino was delicious and spicy enough to enjoy it. Waitress was nice, attentive and made great suggestions. Ambient great, no lousy music Pristine bathrooms! We definitely recommend this place.

This was our first time here. The place is very nicely done inside. The staff all were very friendly, polite, and courteous. The food was outstanding! I had the chicken parmigiana with spaghetti and the sauce was the best I ever had! I don't please easily so that says something! I price was great and the portions were great as well. Well done!

I don't like Olive Garden or Italian food in general but after trying this place, I changed my mind. I freaking love the bread and the sauce they provide for free. The grilled chicken sandwich I got was mouth watering. Definitely need to come back

Service is great! Food is excellent. Our go to for Pizza in Ceres. Place never seems crowded, and it's huge, could hold 80 people! Even the salads were good!

This restaurant was simple yet had interesting artwork on the walls. We ate at the restaurant early so there weren't a lot of people on the restaurant; There was another couple and us, as I recall. The waitress was nice, polite and attentive. She asked if we wanted another refill on our soda. I always want to start with the basic entree when I visit a new place. This gives me an idea how the other meals or the rest of my experience will somehow turn out. The spaghetti came with a few meatballs which was very tasty. The meal itself wasn't unique. The sauce seemed homemade from a can of tomatoes versus from real tomatoes. The meatballs were tasty and flavorful. Either I was real hungry when lunch was finally served or the food was real good . Either way...I finished my entire meal despite all the bread I ate. The Cioppino Soup was plentiful and very hot! (Hot as in it was just removed off the hot stove versus spicy). The calamari tasted tough and chewy. The seafood was good. The soup made it seem like a huge meal for two. It wasn't finished. The only weird thing I was annoyed by was a fly by the window that kept flying around us as we tried to eat. They need pest control at this establishment. Other than that...it's worth a stop for Italian food in this tiny town.

My family and I were here about 1 week ago. The food was okay. Not impressive... The service was trash. Our waiter had a shitty face and an attitude for no reason. I'm all for giving tips ! However this waiter did not deserve anything because of how bad her attitude was. I would definitely would not recommend this place.

We decided to go out to dinner for Valentine's Day. I wanted Italian we found this cute place not far from us. Not long of a wait to be seat maybe 5 minutes. They were a little busy. We were seat and two other couples were seat on the sides of us shortly after. The couple to the right of me were brought bread and menu out right away. We had to wait until our server asked us if we had menus yet. About 5 mins later we got our bread. Shortly after we placed our orders In. We got our drinks. Bread was good but the oil balsamic mix was too much balsamic. We waited over 30 minutes to get our salad. Which was just a garden mixed salad. At first I had ordered the ceaser but my boyfriend point out that it's garden so I asked the girl to change it. Mind you we waited 30 mins now. She brings us the salad and the dressing is served in little cups. Of course it's Ceaser dressing. So I asked for ranch. She brings back ranch and kind of just drops it on the table "here's your ranch" and runs off. She didn't look happy. Needless to say the salad was nothing to write home about. The ranch had a vinaigrette taste to it. But let me say when we got our dinner plates they were good. My boyfriend ordered the linguine with clams. (Not pictured) and I got the chicken rigatoni basil I asked them to add mushrooms which they did. Our plates came out hot and tasteful. I asked for Parmesan on top. The meals were great. If e go back I would like to try the dish with sun-dried tomatoes also. While we waited for our food my boyfriend said we wouldn't go back and he was ready to leave seeing how other people were served quicker than we were. However after we ate our dinner we were happy with the taste and quality of the food and would give this place another try.

This was my 2nd time dining here and both of my experiences have been great!!! Food is great, the young lady who served us was very friendly!! My family who dined with me also loved the food! I highly recommend. Ohhh and I love the atmosphere, the oldies that are played

American Italian bistro catered our daughters sweet 16 and wow was the food delicious! Not only was it delicious but the presentation was beautiful. They provide the chafing dishes and the gel warmers to keep our food fresh and warm all night! Everyone was asking where we got the food from because it was so good !! We had 120 people at our event and still walked away with plenty of food to enjoy at home !! Thank you American Italian bistro for helping make our party memorable.

The food was AMAZING!!! our waitress was super sweet and very attentive. She was great!! The restaurant was really big and could definitely fit a large party. Super cute date night place. Solid menu with decent food and great prices. Had the chicken parm and it was good. Craved a little dessert but I don't think they offer anything sweet. My nephew swears by this place and goes once a week.

We were in town for a family get together, so I searched the Yelp reviews for an American restaurant. We decided that the Italian menu looked good. Taking a chance on the reviews because " one man's meat is another man's poison", we all rated it a 5/5. We went after 2:30 so we had the whole restaurant to ourselves, our service was great. She checked on us at least 5 times. The ambience was nice. They play oldies music. The restaurant is very clean, they have both tables & chairs and booth seating. They served us a complimentary fresh crusty bread with balsamic dipping sauce, which was very acidic and we would have preferred a better ratio of olive oil. The food was served hot and they have very generous portions. Two of us took home 1/2 of our entrees. We didn't eat dessert because we were very satisfied with our entrees. Our families will definitely be coming again. The price is right too.

I have eaten here multiple times, and let me just tell you, their food, service, and ambiance is absolutely off the charts. I recommend all italian food lovers to try this place out!

We had a large group last night, we were all promptly seated, drink orders came, we all had a nice time socializing, then came the salads and although one salad had one old lettuce in it, they were all nice size, orders taken on food, they did an awesome job. Everyone enjoyed the food, great tasting, plenty of servings and we were all so full, no one ordered desert We highly recommend Will be back for sure. It's a very nice place with lot's of seating You must try

Found this restaurant on yelp, it has great food and the staff is always friendly and efficient. The restaurant is big and has enough room for Large groups, but is still cozy enough for just 2. It has a lot of takeout traffic also. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I come here for the chicken picatta mostly....and the ravioli because they can both be reheated for my lunch the next day. This is my go to spot for the bread and vinegar dip. The salads are always green crisp and tasty and their portions are very large. Definitely a 5 star for me.

We had a large group which the closed down their dining room for. We received excellent service, great food and the staff did whatever they could to create a fun memorable night.

We had our sons rehearsal dinner there for his wedding. Service was very good. The food was excellent very nice atmosphere. I would highly recommend American Italian bistro.

First visit, just moved to town. We went around 7pm, not busy at all. We were the second party in the building. There was one waitress, she did a phenomenal job! I did not grab her name but she had the smiley piercing. 3 parties came in after us, and she waited on all 5 parties that were there. She was quick, friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu and the restaurant. The food was amazing! She let us know everything was homemade, plates were hot when they were brought to the table. We asked for a second basket of bread because it was just that good . Oh did I mention she also offered a complimentary salad which we were also offered to pick our choice of dressing. The place looks small from the outside, as spoons as you walk in it's almost like a grand hall, wide and deep lots of tables. They also do large parties! They also take rad card! So I got my whole tab for 50% off !!

Delicious food! Great service! Pasta was yummy and so was the bread and calamari! We also ordered the chicken pesto pasta to try it was ok, not sure if we would get that one again. Place wasn't to busy inside, lots of to go orders. We had great waitress. We will be back!

Awesome place to eat great customer service I'll give it five stars all day long. My wife had to raviolis butter squash my daughter had the raviolis meat sauce. I had the lasagna. Highly recommend this place.

We went here because of the Yelp rating and we were absolutely starving. After a long day of driving and moving around. I can't speak highly enough about the restaurant. Not only was the service phenomenal and friendly and like being with family, but the food was beyond imaginably good. It was outstanding, one of the best meals we've ever had and I think everybody ought to take the time to visit this place! On top of everything else, they had a really good wine setup so we each had a glass of some really good red wine with one of the best meals we've ever had.

My boyfriend and I decided to try a new restaurant and being that we are both picky eaters and can both agree on Italian, decided to try this lovely family-owned restaurant. I ordered the grilled salmon salad and it was so delicious. The salmon was perfectly cooked and a very nice size portion. My boyfriend ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken, which he absolutely loved and comes with salad actually, they both came with salad, even my salad came with salad lol and pizza bread... Also delicious. We will definitely be coming back and love supporting our community. Definitely try them out, you will not be disappointed.

This is a favorite "Secret restaurant". We go there for lunch after Church on occasion. I think it'll be yours too. However, I am posting cause they deserve to be more well known than they are. Next time you want Italian food, don't go across your town. Come to this great spot on 4th St. in Ceres. You'll love it. And listen, a meal here is about the same as most fast food places now. Eat better here...!!!

Firstly, the service was terrible. Our waiter was not helpful at all. The bread she brought us was cold and i asked if we can get fresh bread as she was cleaning a table with a dirty rag and she brought back even colder bread on top of not washing her hands. We had not even taken a bite from our food and she proceeded to ask if we wanted a to go box. so we left the food as is and left. she had a stank face and terrible attitude towards us from the beginning. I do not recommend this place at all, bread had no taste and the sauce was very bland. If i can rate them a 0 i would!

First, of all the food was delicious. The margarita pizza is so good & it's a must try. Our waitress Marisol was very nice and super helpful when it came to ordering. The atmosphere was chill, they had good music playing in the background. Definitely, would recommend for others to try.

The red sauce they used for spaghetti had no flavor. Sauce was runny and tasted like watered down tomato sauce. The meatballs had no flavor at all; definitely the food was not Italian quality. Definitely not hand made meatballs. Very disappointing dinner. Additionally, the Ice tea tasted like coffee. The waitress was accommodating however, she didn't charge us for the tea. Apparently the tea came from a bottle and not freshly made.

Went here for the first time tonight with my friend. The food is amazing and full of flavor. I got the chicken marsala and my friend got lasagna. The portion sizes are large. We were waited on by an amazing young lady name Isabella I will for sure be back and recommend to my family and friends. I highly recommend you are not be disappointed.

Absolutely delicious! Not only is the food amazing....but the customer service and hospitality is sensational. The waitress/manager Marisol is the best! She is so nice, has such a sweet and welcoming demeanor. It is always a pleasure to be taken care of by her. If I could give American Italian Bistro more stars, I most definitely would!!

I ordered the risotto and asked to withhold the wine. Sure, no problem. When I get it, it looks nothing like any risotto I've seen either at a restaurant or on TV. It looked like it was res sauce with rice. The mussels and clams were yummy but the calamari and shrimp were over cooked. The salmon was ok. The red sauce tasted like Spaghettios only way more expensive. The person I was with didn't know I ordered risotto since she didn't recognize it as such. The service is so so and it seems like they don't make anything there in house.

So glad that I came upon this place. The food is amazing and the staff is so friendly.

I was so excited to try something new in my little home town. My mom and I stopped in late... just before closing. As a former server I couldn't help but feel badly about that. Our server was so kind and the service was excellent despite us coming in last minute. The food was delicious...from the salad and bread to the pasta - I had Ravioli ... yum! I will definitely come back - I love supporting local business and Ceres really needs spots like these!
