This was our first visit here. The food was fantastic. I had the BBQ brisket pile-up special, and my wife had the smoked salmon benedict. We ordered a slice of key lime pie and apple crumb pie to go. Highly recommend! We will be back, despite the long drive for us.

Google
Delicious!!!!! So happy with the taste of everything I tried. It was hard to stop and every plate that walked past looked and smelled so good. I had Irish mimosa, potato cakes with hash and scrambled eggs and cheese... spiced apples, bacon and a biscuit.

Google
Love! Nothing fancy so you won’t get a specialized coffee but who cares, you know what you come for? Pie. Simple. I mean my homemade corn beef harsh was top notch, but the pie? Wow. Best strawberry rhubarb I’ve had bar none. The chicken pot pie is eloquent. The crust is superb, the bottom is flavorful, the filling delicious no notes. My friend and I split one whole pie and finished, truly crazy. Don’t miss your opportunity. Dine in or take out, always cute.

Google
Expectations surpassed! Huge menu, everything was great and country style! The service was the best part - the guys were busy & very nice : offered us all coffee when there was a wait for a few parties, and the ladies we interacted with made us feel like family - it was an amazingly great experience and I’m so happy we drove a different way and found it!!! Our party of five included French foodies who loved it too - we even made friends on the patio outside :)

Google

Google
Love this place!! First time here and me and the wife are already talking about coming back here since their is soo much on the menu that we want to try. We came here for brunch and stuck to ordering breakfast food. I got a large stack of pancakes which were fluffy and moist. The texas omelet was was hugh and i substituted the home fries and toast with a buttery biscuit and a side of corn beef hash, all delicious. My wife got the steak and eggs with a mimosa. We both had hot coffee. Everything was amazing. We can't wait to come back and try some lunch/dinner food which I'm sure is also delicious.

Google
Used to love the chocolate cream pie but I think they changed it. Not a lot of taste and it was a bit old…please change it back! Tastes like a prepackaged pie now :((. We’ll try the dinner again soon but hoping it’s as good as it used to be

Yelp
American Pie Company offers an exceptional diner experience. And do not miss out on the bevy of delicious baked goods in front! We saw no need to over complicate things. The Chicken Pot Pie, the house speciality, is excellent. Something about it just tastes homemade. The crust is flaky, crispy and light, and it is stuffed with choice chunks of chicken and veggies. Also, unless you happen to play offensive line for your local NFL team, this is not a personal-sized portion. It is meant to be shared and could readily serve as lunch for three. The service was also great. We had a big group and no reservation, then also asked to change tables after ordering. (Admittedly annoying). The servers were extremely accommodating though and helped make our lunch dreams true.

Yelp
Hmm. Something happened to American Pie Company. Something good. We just tried the cottage pie again after a few years' hiatus. This time, it was made with real potatoes -- real red-skinned potatoes -- mashed to a perfectly creamy consistency with a few pleasant chunks left for texture, and most importantly, made without margarine! Underneath a thick layer of potatoey goodness, the ground beef / carrot / corn stew was flavorful and nicely seasoned. The potato to stew ratio was about 1:1, so it was admittedly a touch high by some standards. And IIRC, the pie pan now seems to be more shallow / smaller what it was on our last try... But if one values quality over quantity, this iteration is a significant improvement. I don't know if these well-made, margarine-free mashed potatoes were a post-Thanksgiving fluke or not, but we're curious enough to try our luck again.

Yelp
I was so excited that my errand this morning would bring me past the American pie company for a treat. I asked for a piece of coffee cake. It was rather large and a small coffee. The cost is what is baffling me. The total came to 9.96 but how could that possibly be for a piece of cake and a small coffee just baffled that that's all 3*s bc of the coffee cake being so delicious.

Connor P.

Yelp
I have been going to this dinner with my family for over 10 years. it is always great. food is good, every time I go and no matter what type of food you want they have it. the staff is very nice and is always helpful. The cookies are also delicious

Gina W.

Yelp
Cute breakfast spot that serves up big plates and hospitality! Came for breakfast Friday morning and as you enter through the bakery side, you can see all their pies, cookies and cupcakes. The dining area off to the right is cute and charming. Service is friendly and food portions are huge! 1 cute thing they, any item off the kids menu gets a free cookie from the bakery. My daughter was very happy as she got to pick out a cookie of her choice.

Yelp
The perfect sendoff after a weekend in CT. The breakfast here is so good and priced to perfection. The space inside is homey and cozy -- great for families and bigger groups. We came here as a group of 4 on Sunday around 1pm and sat immediately. Service was good, staff is friendly. Oatmeal Pancakes: Served with warm spiced apples on top, these 3 pancakes are fluffy and sweet on their own, with a bit of crunch inside from the nuts (which almost seem candied). At $15 for 3 excellent pancakes, I found these to be a great deal. The spiced apples absolutely made this dish. These were great with a side of bacon and eggs as well. Value: 5/5 Quality: 5/5 Quantity: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 4/5

Yelp
The vibe is warm and friendly. The pies and desserts are delicious. you can come and just grab and go, or you can be seated and served. The food is very much comfort food and it's very good. i've come here whenever i'm in the neighborhood. I love their french onion soup.

Andrew F.

Yelp
This place makes the best BEC I've ever had and I can't help but get myself some sweet lil pastry every time I go in because they DO NOT MISS. home fries are out of this world, and the staff are always kind and attentive, highly recommend, I'd be in here every day if I lived closer.

Karen L.

Yelp
Always delicious. Never a disappointing meal. The food is just delicious whether you came for breakfast or lunch, the menu boasts something for everyone The chicken pot pie is one of their signature dishes and a must have. A great place to meet friends or for a family dinner. Check out the bakery before you leave, the rainbow cookies are delish!!

Timothy R.

Yelp
Deliciously great breakfast! The portions are very hearty also. The service was so great you wouldn't know that there was only one waitress taking care of a full restaurant at 9:30am. Excellent job! The sausage gravy was scrumptious. And the cheese crepe divine. Definitely a go to.

Al G.

Yelp
Whatever I have ordered at American Pie is always tasty and fresh, whether for breakfast, lunch, dinner. It is always a great place for a slice of pie and coffee.

Allison D.

Yelp
Stopped to get a pie. We didn't try the restaurant. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Bought a peach raspberry pie and two of the awesome looking cookies in display area. The pie was incredible!! It reminded me of my great aunt's peach pie. The cookies on the other hand were inedible. We got a snicker doodle and m&m. The where so stale. The snickerdoodle had little flavor and the m&m has a burnt weird flavor. We had one bite and threw them out. I wish we lived closer. (We live on the shoreline). I would getting my Thanksgiving pies there!

Danielle C.

Yelp
This place has delicious food. However, I docked them for the service. I docked them 2 stars for it because every time I go I get a waiter with a lot of attitude and I'm not the only one - the place has a rep for it. This last time a lot of attitude was given when asked about the tea selection. One friend asked for tea. Another friend came a few minutes later and asked for tea but specifically asked what kind of tea they had and much to friend 1's surprise they had a selection. We asked if Friend 1 could get different tea because she didn't like her default tea (she had barely drank out of it) and A LOT of attitude was given. Why so salty? It's hot water... you don't even steep it...

Yelp
I've been here once before, and I've been dreaming of coming back! It's a 3-hour drive from home, but well worth it! My family and I walked in and were greeted by the scent of warm yeast, sweet and spiced fruit, and various roasts, all the smells of home. We walked in through the bakery. They offer an assortment of freshly baked breads like pumpkin, banana, and apple cake. They also offer varying sweet and savory pies, including apple, peach raspberry, chocolate, chicken pot pie, sheppards pie, etc. Everything is simply and neatly packaged. The host greeted us shortly after we entered and brought us up to the 'loft', a 2nd floor walk-up area which seats about 20. The 1st floor seats about 30, but they're always packed, well, from my experience. The servers were smiling and pleasant despite being slammed. Our server was a petite brunette wearing a witches hat, and she was absolutely charming! My uncle and dad hit her with all the dad jokes, and she effortlessly hit them with the comebacks, lol! Note, they are making the food from scratch, so things do take a while here. It's all good though, it gives you time to talk with your family. Entrees come with a choice of soup or salad. Most people got the french onion, which came with a crispy piece of cheese and chunky croutons in it. My husband liked it so much that he was tempted to lick the bottom place that caught the overflow. If you get the salad, ask for extra bread. Trust me. Don't ask questions. Just do it. My dad and I got pot pies, my son got a burger, my husband got wings and bacon jalapeno mac and cheese, my aunt got the turkey dinner, and my uncle got sheppards pie. The pie was bigger than my head! The crust was light and flaky, and the filling was simple yet flavorful. My sons burger was huge! They gave basically a full pound of pasta with generous chunks of pulled pork and crispy bacon cubes in the mac and cheese. The best part about it was that it was cheesy but not overly salty, and it had a kick but didn't burn off your tastebuds. I like spice, though, so if you can't do hotter than spicy cheetos, this isn't for you! My aunts thick cut turkey dinner came with all the trimmings, gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, etc. Last, dessert. The pies are all homemade and come with a different crust depending on the type. They also make these desserts in a stein mug, which are epic! All in all, it's a simple place that offers quality comfort food without all the fluff. If you're looking for homemade, from scratch, country cooking you'll love it here!

Olga S.

Yelp
Mediocre diner food served on ugly old cheap plates with thin bent forks, but with a wait to get in like it's a Michelin star restaurant. People constantly cutting line because staff don't care and randomly choose who is getting seated. Get ready to eat an hour ti get seated for breakfast. Outside chairs are painful to sit on. They also not willing to share Wi-Fi with this customers, saying that Wi-Fi is only for staff! There is not cell service ( Verizon).

Kate D.

Yelp
Just stopped in for coffee and a cookie... staff was wonderfully pleasant... can't wait to return for a full meal soon!

Chris P.

Yelp
A popular place for breakfast, they also have an excellent lunch and dinner menu. The French Onion Soup, Louisiana Nachos, Chicken Pot Pie, Fish & Chips were all excellent and large portions. I saved room for the lemon Meringue pie!

Chris W.

Yelp
Cute little place we stumbled in while out for a drive. Fairly large menu offering all of the usual American casual restaurant fare including burgers, wraps, sandwiches, soups / salads and a host of other things. Then menu is actually surprisingly big and takes a second to decide. I went with the fish and chips while the wife and kiddo shared a chicken quesadilla and a kids entree of noodles with sauce. The fish was cooked nicely not too fried and had a good flavor. The quesadilla and noodles were both equally good with no complaints from anyone. We had to try the pie of course we so had a slice of strawberry rhubarb as well as key lime. Both were delicious! If ever out for a drive and want a casual lunch and some delicious pie give this spot a look.

Tetyana N.

Yelp
We were in the area. Visited Kent Falls and came here to try the pies. We sat on the patio, which was very cozy, and we were the only once sitting there, which was great. Weather was amazing that day, so it was just a perfect setting. Our waitress was so thoughtful, just a pleasure to come across kind beautiful peopleI like her, don't remember her name unfortunately . she even brought water bowl for our dog. After hiking we enjoyed this place so much. The pies were delicious. We tried the apple crumble and peach blueberry ( our waitress recommendation). The other stuff were nice as well. I highly recommend this place. Unfortunately it's about an hour drive from me, but we ll definitely be back.

John K.

Yelp
Pretty neat place in Sherman, CT. Dropped off one of the employees for the afternoon shift, but did'nt eat there. What I did do is (1) buy a quart of (frozen) split soup, complete Blueberry crumb pie and (3) a blueberry muffin with butter. Ok on way home ate the muffin, not bad. After dinner that night the blueberry pie was talkin to me; so yeah had a piece, nope had two pieces! Great pie!! Next day had pie for breakfast and lunch (yeah, it's that big). Had the soup for dinner, and again pie! Third day finished the pie for dinner.. EXCELLENT!! Gotta try this place, highly recommend it.

Yelp
If you are planning a visit to Litchfield County this Fall to view the foliage, a stop at the American Pie Company should be on your agenda. This is a cozy bakery and restaurant with a lovely patio for alfresco dining. All the pies are great, October Fest menu is wonderful, and the burger and fries are pretty good too. Nice wine list also. Staff is friendly and on point. All in all, this is a non-pretentious and enjoyable spot with excellent food and prices.

Kathleen W.

Yelp
I went to this Restaurant as a Birthday gift From my husband for lunch ! Excellent service and great food ! My husband made reservations for American Pie just to make sure that everything went well ! My Birthday is August--Best Birthday Gift I ever received ! There is a indoor and outdoor setting--so you can pick whatever you prefer ahead of time !

Luke S.

Yelp
Stopped in on the way back to New Milford from New Fairfield and got a coffee and breakfast sandwich. The breakfast sandwich came with a ton of potatoes which were delicious! They had a ton of pies and pastries on display which I unfortunately did not try. I did get a frozen chicken pot pie which I ate a few days later - delicious! Coffee was decent, food was definitely the highlight. Highly recommended.

Leda B.

Yelp
Great service through and through. Great food (breakfast, lunch and dinner), pies, and did I mention alcoholic beverages? Yes! All that you are looking for is this restaurant/storefront. Hands down my favorite/THE ONLY place to visit when I'm in town.

Jenny G.

Yelp
American Pie Company has been our favorite local restaurant for over two decades now. It's always been consistently a nice cozy spot for a family breakfast, or a delicious after school cookie with milk. But the pies are always fresh and beautiful. The pies I have tried have always tasted like my Nanny baked them that morning. My favorite is the Key Lime Pie...I grew up just north of the Keys and it is the real deal! The owners and staff are locals in our tiny town, and the atmosphere is very welcoming and warm!

Amber L.

Yelp
It was so amazing. I had three meals from the one. We will go back soon. Has a bakery attached and you can take home breads pies and goodies. Home feeling. Family feeling.

Alexandra A.

Yelp
This is a great casual spot to enjoy a great meal. The combination of potato pancakes and apples spiced slices are for sure different but somehow the flavor goes together pretty well. The atmosphere was relaxing. Staff was very busy but kept friendly and cool. Would definitely go back!

A F.

Yelp
Awesome Apple Pie a la mode! Highly recommend. Restaurant appears to be clean and staff have always been friendly.

Donna S.

Yelp
Always excellent food, service and atmosphere! Plenty of choices, fast service and always on point, I can't say enough good things about this place! And not to mention the pies!

Marlene B.

Yelp
Great food, wonderful staff. Nice bakery!!! Thank you!! Will be back. Everyone should see why it's so good there

Anne W.

Yelp
Probably the best breakfast I have ever had... and I was able to get a piece of pie to go! Be still my heart - crispy potato pancake topped with sausage AND bacon, then a poached egg with hollandaise! How could this not be amazing... and it was! I also was able to sneak a taste of the German pile up... the bratwurst was so good! I cannot wait to go back here!

Dan F.

Yelp
I ordered 2 pies one pumpkin pie and one chocolate cream pie. The Chocolate cream pie was more of moose pie and I was expecting it to be a chocolate cream pie. It was ok but they should change the name. I haven't tried the pumpkin pie, but it looks great and I'm looking forward to eating it tomorrow on Thanksgiving

Lisa A.

Yelp
The American Pie Company is reminiscent of a New England diner and bakery with local friendly staff. I've heard good things about it, but truthfully if I don't eat there again I'll be a ok with it. The two times I have visited the food has been at best average. There is nothing fancy here. If you don't feel like cooking and want something simple, this will suffice.

Anthony R.

Yelp
Great place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Staff are always great. The pies are to die for. Especially for the holidays you may want to order your pies before you go there.

A A.

Yelp
I know they are about pies, but I came for the Cuban sandwich and After all the doubts about a Cuban sandwich in Sherman, CT? This was worth the drive, and A great way to tap off our day Of hiking with deer and bear Sightings

Crystal P.

Yelp
I really wish we had come here in person but my son had to get me sick right as our vacation started :P I mean it could've been him sick which would have been worse but whatever. We got take out from here one night and very good food. As I see pictures and drove by the place a few days later I wish we had actually come here to eat. Food was still good regardless. I had quesadillas.

Ann W.

Yelp
Great food at a mom and pop place. Breakfasts are excellent. But, I never leave without dessert. If you come here, you will know what I mean! See for yourself, you will not be disappointed.

Samantha V.

Yelp
My first time eating at American Pie with my Dad and brother. My brother ordered an amazing stuff french toast with strawberries. The fruit was so french and their whipped cream dollops really made a statement on the plate. Dad got a breakfast plate with their homemade corned beef hash. Our family is big on corned beef hash and I really wanted to taste it but Dad looked pretty protective off that plate. I ordered the biscuits and gravy with eggs and potatoes. The biscuits were on the small side, and the potatoes had no crisp. But the gravy was really good. They also sell - Pies and other baked goods. Which Im hoping to try soon

Jay S.

Yelp
We decided to try American Pie Company for breakfast, since my wife really enjoyed having lunch there, and we were not disappointed. I had chicken fried steak, country gravy, scrambled eggs , home fries , Texas toast, and hot spiced apples. It was my first time having chicken fried steak, and it was so good. Their home fries were delicious, and the portion was huge. My wife had potato pancakes top with cheddar jack cheese, scrambled eggs, sausage and hot spiced apples. Great breakfast, and great service. We will be back.

Joshua E.

Yelp
I must say the menu is quite enticing and the options are plentiful but I walked away mostly unsatisfied. I had the fish and chips and I'm pretty sure it was lacking salt and any real depth of flavor. The steak fries were average as they definitely could have been much worse. Family around me got different breakfast type platters and while there was plenty of food everywhere it didn't seem like the most delicous food. I did think the staff was quite friendly and accomodating as well. Next time we will give the pie a chance.

Patricia E.

Yelp
Yummy yummy for your tummy. A great place of different delicious pizzas and much more.

Ron R.

Yelp
I stopped in one morning on my way through and purchased a very tasty breakfast sandwich. I also picked up one of their homemade cookies as a snack for later in the day it tasted like mom used to make.

Michael D.

Yelp
A regular favorite. Great for breakfast and locally famous for their chicken pot pies. I had the German potato pancake pile up and my wife had the autumn omlette. Both were excellent and Alicia was a wonderful Server. One extra advantage is the spotty cell service that keeps everyone off their phones for the entire visit. Well worth the trip.

Donna L.

Yelp
We drove one and half hours to get here. Cute, homey vibe. The waitress was hysterical. The pumpkin pancakes topped with cinnamon apples was delicious. Crispy bacon was steaming hot. Everyone in my party of four thoroughly enjoyed their breakfast. I highly recommend taking the trek out to Sherman to eat here!

Maria P.

Yelp
OMG the bakery, the pie selections, the food. It is such a wonderful experience. I go as often as I can either for lunch, a special occasion or simply for a sugar fix. It fills all the boxes. Enjoy.

Timothy M.

Yelp
Food delicious. Was worth the wait. Kind waitstaff. Nice and comfortable seating

Deborah K.

Yelp
Best breakfast in the area, and the bakery is phenomenal. Make sure to pick up a chicken pot pie from the freezer before you go. They also do catering at the holidays- has made many a day easier for our family, we love it! We have not had amazing experiences with dinners but that might be us. So highly recommend.

Susan F.

Yelp
Got a lemon meringue pie yesterday to bring to a fall barbecue. It was the star of the show and raised the dessert bar with this regular group of friends. Everything here is fabulous in this family owned business but yesterday, they made me a hero! Thanks, American Pie!

Breanna R.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places to go for breakfast. The French toast and egg white Florentine omelet are my favorite go-to breakfast meals, and their home fries are easily the best I've had. The spiced apples are so good, and my boyfriend loves the chicken pot pie and the French onion soup. My son loves getting to pick out one of their cookies after he finishes his meal (the kid's M&M pancake is his favorite) and I think its really great that they do that for the kids. It's so cute seeing their faces light up when they get their ticket to take to the cookie counter. The cookies are huge and there is a good-sized selection. The amount of food you get for the price is great. The service is excellent and the food is always hot and fresh. When something isn't right with the food (which is rare), they fix it right away and it comes out perfect. The rare few times that my omelet or home fries have been overcooked, they've immediately had it redone and I've had no complaints after that. I'm pretty much a regular here and I've only had to send my food back twice out of the many times I've been. There was only one meal I wasn't a huge fan of (their avocado toast), but even then I didn't hate it. I was just used to it being prepared a certain way at other places. That being said, I love how cozy it feels inside, and it really feels like a nice, relaxing place to get a good cup of coffee and some delicious food. Between the cute, cozy décor, the yummy food, and the excellent service, I always recommend this place and take my family when they come to visit. I've never been disappointed here!
