"This small space museum, located not far from the better-known Kennedy Space Center, tells the more personal side of the history of the American space program, from the launches of Dr. Robert Goddard to early unmanned flight, through projects Mercury, Gemini, Apollo, and the Space Shuttle.  The American Space Museum displays numerous artifacts collected by veteran workers from the Kennedy Space Center. Some of the most prized and unique artifacts are a set of bronze castings of the handprints of some of America’s most famous early astronauts. The set includes the prints of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, most of the Mercury astronauts and Gemini astronauts, the first Space Shuttle crew, as well as Sally Ride, the first American female astronaut, and Eileen Collins, the first female Shuttle Commander.  The collection also includes numerous models depicting space program operations and an actual set of space shuttle launch consoles.  The consoles and a set of Atlas launch consoles dating to 1962 are in working order and visitors can touch the keyboards and throw switches.  Nearby the museum are also four beautiful monuments to commemorate each of the four NASA crewed space programs." - ATLAS_OBSCURA

I have to say how impressed I am with this museum! It's off the beaten path and I am so glad we came across it. All of the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Barry "Smitty" Smith was the reason we will be back. He was our tour guide and one amazing person to talk to!! Everyone should check this place out! My dad and I enjoyed this place immensely!

This is a great little Museum. It has many, many artifacts related to our space exploration history. It may not be NASA but it is certainly a must check out place. It is well worth the price of admission. Don't forget to check out their gift shop and nearby memorial parks.

This is a hidden museum that has an amazing amount of history. As it blends into the other buildings and the signage is not in your face, you could easily miss it. Now, if you are reading this, you probably already found this museum somehow and will be in for a treat. All the items in the museum were donated by NASA and workers from the different space programs. The staff is super friendly and have a great knowledge of the different artifacts on display. While not a big museum, there is plenty to read and history to explore.

We wondered if this place was worth our time from seeing the outside but we spent almost 2 hours exploring all the interesting artifacts and learned many things about the workings of the various missions from the guides. There are many models and authentic items to see here. Well worth a visit.

Google
Amazing selection of artifacts and even more amazing tour guide, Mr. Eric is retired from working for the space program for over 30 yrs! He has insane knowledge on the industry and the museum itself. Absolutely ask for the tour, hopefully with him! Analog Sequencer is so iconic too! Don’t miss out fr.

Google
What an awesome place. It had so many cool items in it and there was so much to learn. Kennedy Space Center was not in our budget and quite frankly I’m really happy with that. I mean this place was off the charts for information and the scenery. Gordon was amazing… he knew so much information. I learned so much and didn’t even know I cared that much about space and what not it he made it more interesting than I ever thought possible. The ladies up front were very helpful too and very sweet!

Absolutely brilliant museum, full of history and relics from the people and places involved in the space program. You gotta ask for the countdown simulation in the restored computer room, it's amazing. Great staff, well informed and helpful too.

Our family had an absolute great time at American Space Museum. The ladies at the front are so nice. They have a gift shop when you walk in and give the kids a scavenger hunt so they can learn and find different items throughout the museum. Our 13 year old son who is a big time NASA and outer space fan enjoyed it the most. Mr. Gordon was absolutely amazing!!! He took the time to explain absolutely everything. He is so incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. If I could give more than a 5 star review, I honestly would. Our children learned so much! Such a nice place to enjoy and an outstanding educational experience and give you some special souvenir to take home! We will be back! :)

Yelp
Took my dad here because he loves space and he had a blast. I really liked it too, particularly the sequencer. I personally really liked the Women in Space room and how there were little plaques saying whhich women were currently in space! The employees are so nice and knowledgeable. This place is way better than Kennedy Space Center.

Yelp
The "early space exploration" museum is a small building located at the NASA Kennedy Space Center (KSC) Visitor Complex. Visiting this museum was a pleasant surprise because it covers the early development of rocketry up through the historic flights of Apollo. Oh my goodness, I almost passed this place by! The exploration building is located just inside the entrance at the Visitor Complex. Immediately upon entry, visitors will see a large USSR spacecraft hanging from the ceiling. Before Mercury, the USSR was securely ahead of us in the "space race," but thanks to several American visionaries this wouldn't last long. A wall within the museum highlights some of the visionaries in early rocketry, including Robert Goddard, Hermann Oberth, and Wernher von Braun. Political leaders like Eisenhower and Kennedy realized the important benefits associated with developments in rocketry and human space flight, from the supremacy that would become evident by this country's accomplishments to the plethora of technologies and ideologies that were enabled by their advancement. These impressively persuasive presidents not only ignited the enthusiasm within the American public, but also persuaded the Congress to sufficiently fund these advancements for America. In short, there are many gems within this museum worth exploring, like: a full-scale model of Goddard's liquid-fueled rocket; the room used for mission control during Mercury; a backup capsule for the Mercury 8 mission; an actual Gemini spacecraft (flown by Stafford and Cernan); an Apollo spacesuit; a moon buggy; and many many sub-scale versions of rockets up through Apollo. If you visit the KSC Visitor Complex you've gotta check out this museum too. It's definitely worth a quick visit!

Yelp
My kids and I attanded a workshop there and had a BLAST!! The instructor was so caring and attentive to each student, we learned a lot about robots and coding. I can't wait until their next workshop. The museum itself looks small at first, but it was very informative and educational, with lots of hands-on things.

Yelp
Overshadowed by the Kennedy Space Center, the U S Spacewalk of Fame Foundation is a hidden gem. I wasn't expecting much when I was told about it, and almost didn't go. But, after doing all the touristy stuff in Titusville, we decided to check it out. My wife and I walked in through the front door and paid the small fee to get in. It looked more like an office than anything else. We were not impressed. Then they pointed us in the direction. They had different rooms set up with different exhibits. We walked into one of the rooms and started looking around. A few minutes later, a woman comes in and gives us a guided tour. It was great to have someone explain the things on exhibit in the their museum. We got to see lots of different things, like a Beanie Baby stuffed animal that went up to space. They had an old camera and a tape recorder that was on display and a can of Pepsi that went up to space. We saw an X-ray of Neil Armstrong's boot. They had models of rockets and even had the largest nut and bolt that I have ever seen. Everything on display was donated by NASA employees or contractors. Our tour guide was awesome, and our experience at the museum would not have been a 5 star experience if she did not show up to explain everything to us. It is a nice museum! Don't let the outside of it scare you. Because on the inside are treasures on display with a space expert as your tour guide.

Yelp
I didn't get to go inside, but this review is for the outside of the place, and the really cool space artifacts they have in their parking lot! I was driving down A1A and immediately pulled into the lot when I saw shuttle pieces. I needed to take photos because this stuff is just SOO cool to look at. I'm glad it's there so that EVERYONE can enjoy it.

Cynthia R.

Yelp
Excellent museum for learning in everything related to NASA. Very dedicated staff to inform the public.

Yelp
3...2...1... and we have ... ...everything you've ever wanted to know about space travel! This museum was a real pleasant surprise. While it may look small from the outside, it's packed with equipment and memorabilia from our nation's history of studying and traveling into space. Be prepared to spend a few hours there and take the tour, which is very informative.

Daniella K.

Yelp
I wasn't really sure what to expect because it looks so small from the outside, but we went on the Smithsonian's Free Museum Day. The inside was packed with memorabilia and information. Each person that worked there was so excited to tell you all about whatever area they were covering. The children loved being able to press buttons and flick switches and pretend to be mission control. They even had two virtual reality simulators set up. There was a demonstration on how comets form. It was a very nice experience and would be great for anyone writing a report, looking for specific information, or really into the space program.

Cec M.

Yelp
OMGoodness!!! This museum is wonderful!! Our tour guide, Michael, was fabulous!! He was so very knowledgeable and pleasant. Make sure you plan enough time to see it all!!! Definitely a must see!

Yelp
The space museum tour led by Travis, our tour guide was a facinating and enlightening experience if you have any interest in space travel. Travis was a 32 year long employee working in the space program. His personal stories are something you will never read about. These are personal stories behind the stories.

Celine H.

Yelp
Fantastic museum, reasonably priced, and even includes tour. We came in as soon as the museum opened in the morning and the person at the front got us ice cold water bottles while we were waiting for the tour guide. I forgot the guide's name, but he was great. He definitely knew his stuff and was excited to share his knowledge with us. The tour ended up being four hours long, but it didn't feel long because I was engaged the whole time.

Thomas T.

Yelp
This small museum packs a big punch. 2 hour guided tour of all manner of space travel; most notably of manned space flights. Travis Johnson, a 33 year veteran of NASA private contractors, knows more about his subject than any tour guide could EVER be expected to. His unique experience included being on the astronaut close out team (meaning getting the flight crew onboard the spacecraft and situated for liftoff). The museum featured hundreds of artifacts from the earliest space flights. If you are lucky enough to have Travis guide your experience, then strap in for one great ride. He personally knew numerous astronauts, including John Glenn, who later bestowed the highest honor a NASA employee can receive (the Silver Sneaker pin) to Travis. He wears it both humbly and proudly as a ring. Don't miss this museum if you are curious and want personalized answers to anything NASA.

Yelp
Everyone wants a Cape Canaveral souvenir. This shop is a great place to stop since the selection is fantastic. Got myself a lovely calendar here.

Shamerra M.

Yelp
The tour of the museum was amazing. There was many artifacts and cool videos to watch. Our tour guide was John and he did a phenomenal job showing our group the timeline of NASA and all of the technology that was used to fly people into space. I would highly recommend this museum because of the cheap cost and great gift shop with plenty of NASA gear.

Briana W.

Yelp
I visited yesterday and I learned so many fascinating things! The docent, John, had a vast amount of space history knowledge and happily answered all my questions. I really loved the attention to detail and all the memorabilia. I will definitely visit again!

Dan D.

Yelp
Mark was a great tour guide. His personal experience and memory of the details is fantastic. Nick added some nice color commentary. The relics are really worth seeing.

Hafeez Thomas A.

Yelp
Superb hidden gem - as I told Jack, our guide, I've been to many of these such museums (including the Smithsonian) but this little jewel has stuff none of them can boast - all powered by the enthusiasm of the hosts. All the items are donated and you can see the lovingly crafted visions of the collectors who gave their prized stuff to this place shining through the exhibits. Well worth a look see - only$5 for this fascinating look into this wonderful portal of time ...

H T.

Yelp
Nice little museum better, than what I had expected. It's all about the history of US space exploration told through personal effects and detailed models. Very informative guides and a decent little gift shop. I recommend it to anyone who is a fan of space history.

Charles C.

Yelp
Incredible gem of a museum that is a must stop if you are passing through Titusville. The $10 admission is well worth the price and for the viewing and included tour. So many actual pieces of Space history past and present. Our tour guide (Mike L) was informative and knowledgeable. They even have a room for the kids to have hands-on interaction. Science, History and Souvenirs - what a great museum! #titusville #nasa #museum

Jose V.

Yelp
This little hole on the wall museum its Titusville hidden jewel. Your Kennedy Space Center visit won't be complete until you come over here. The tour guides were awesome. Must of them are retired NASA employees and are very well inform. I can keep talking about our personal the experience at the museum, but you have to come and judge. You won't regret it!!!

K M.

Yelp
What a gem! This space museum has been built from the knowledge and love of the program by people whose careers were centered on the space program. Much of the hardware on display has been donated as it was no longer needed over decades and decades. But it is the personal knowledge and enthusiasm of the tour guide that provides that special bonus. While the KSC space center tickets are pricey for a family, the ticket price at this showpiece is very affordable. Thank you to the people who are dedicated to building and maintaining this wonderful resource!

Lucy H.

Yelp
The outside is very nondescript and not what you would expect. Once you are inside you can realize how much items and value they pack into the building, including the people! They have folks there who really worked at and with NASA. We spent over 4 hours there and learned a ton. I would say the tour is the only way to go. Our main guide was Mike Lombard and he was incredibly enthusiastic. He's excellent with young kids and if he can't answer a question then he can go and find someone who will because they were there. I cannot go on enough about how much more grand our visit was because of him. When you get into the rescue room with the firefighters suit you have to ask for Lee Starrick. He has the best stories about being near the pad, the astronauts he's met, and the equipment he worked with. Some features that I would list: They have machinery from the fifties that is still lighting up and working. There are models that show you how many things worked. Miniature landscapes about where launches occurred. Consoles that you can sit at just like the guys who did the tests and launches. A whole room of great novelty items but also kids gifts and toys. STEM Saturdays once a month for young kids 8-13 years which is very interactive and they went the extra mile to have it in conjunction with 5th grade Florida standards. So, it's not just a bunch of pictures (though there are a ton of those) but also some great opportunities for learning more. The staff also seems to have a good pulse on the local areas and events. You can just ask them about what's going on or other places to visit and they can tell you all about them with the pros and cons of each. Right down the street is a great space memorial park where we had a late lunch.
