Americana Modern Hotel

Wow! We are Airbnb hosts of three properties and we’re very impressed with this motel, even a couple ideas! We loved that they closed up the parking lot at night, except for the front entrance. Pet friendly so thankful for that. Our room had three beds and almost like a separate room. That was super convenient for people like us traveling with kids. When we arrived person working asked if we needed dinner recommendations….we didn’t but super helpful and nice. Room was very clean, slept well, and 2 tvs. Cons: pet area was small so not a huge area to walk around but still appreciated!

Great dog-friendly stopover on our way home! Comfortable king size bed, 300mbp fast internet, 10/10 customer service, great lighting, big tv with lots of channels, large bathroom! Shower had great water pressure and heat. Our 150lb senior dog was very comfortable as well which was our biggest concern. Overall 10/10 great stay! Highly recommend.

After arriving at LaQuinta and going into a living nightmare, we left and came here. JOSE was super nice and professional at helping us out late at night, he is the reason I’m writing this review. Very clean and modern feel for the renovation, since it is obvious this was an old Motel. I forgot to take a photo of my room(305), I just got a Video, but it was twice the size of any other hotel I’ve stayed at. Granted, there was empty space, but not an issue at all, specially with 3 kids that use any opportunity to run around. Amazingly comfortable double king beds, big TV, huge fridge and potent water pressure. The young man in the morning shift was also very attentive and deserves a shoutout, although I didn’t get his name. I would 100% return and recommend

The staff is incredibly friendly, and we appreciated how welcoming they were to dogs. Free and easy parking was wonderful. The rooms were adequate. The mattress was comfortable, however, the sheets were rough and bumpy. Overall, a good stay.

We were grateful to finish our day of wet and windy driving at Americana Modern Hotel. The concierge was super nice and helpful and our room was equally nice. Beds were spacious and comfy. Lots of charging options, a fridge for our cooler items, and a great hot shower with lots of water pressure. WiFi was also solid. We had two small dogs with us, and the room had no carpet and we were near a covered dog patio / AstroTurf space for them to go out and relive themselves. This was a GREAT stop for us and we are excited to come back here on our return home on this trip.

We flew into Redding for the weekend to see the Nutcracker performed by Redding City Ballet. Our stay was excellent at the Americana Modern Hotel! It's location downtown is near everything we wanted and needed. We wound up only driving our rental car from the airport to the hotel and back to the airport. We walked everywhere else for breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee, the theater and shopping. The room layout was great and worked perfectly for us. The staff is the best part of the stay. I've never stayed anywhere that was more consistently friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed every interaction with the staff here. Will definitely return for future trips to Redding!

This was my first stay at this hotel while in Redding. This one of the few hotels with the best reviews, in my price point even compared to the bigger well known named hotels so I was definitely surprised. It seems like it was newly renovated within the last year or so, the area was decent and offered a lot of different business such as restaurants and convenient places to go to. As I arrived and checked in, the representative at the front desk was very friendly, helpful and attentive. The single bed room that I booked was well kept and clean as was the bathroom. The bed was comfortable and relaxing, also clean, and the room also included a good working a/c unit, microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker. There were no noise complaints or anything to report while I was there. I would definitely book again.

Staff were super helpful and pleasant. Rooms were nicely renovated, and accommodated my family of 6 with 2 queen beds and a king. This is a motel style hotel and was good for a quick overnight stay. Location is close to restaurants and downtown and a quick 5-10 min drive to Turtle Bay. Only negative was that the walls separating the rooms were very thin and the road noise was fairly loud throughout the night. Our neighbors were super noisy and we heard them loud and clear well after midnight…not the hotels fault of course but still notable as better insulation may have prevented some of the sound.

What a breath of fresh air for the road weary. After a week traveling national parks and mountain roads, was ready for a bit of "civilization" again in northern California. Was heading from Lassen Volcanic National Park to the Coast. Americana Modern Hotel was the perfect respite. The staff were optimistic and welcoming, with very accommodating energy. The lobby was functional and had a bit of everything you could want or think of. The place feels like a well-cared for "summer camp" of sorts. Nice outdoor tables, benches and festive lighting. The room was bright and clean. The hotel seems to cater to regular folks traveling on the road and some higher-end contractors in need of local lodging. Everyone was nice and very polite. There are many restaurants were walking distance nearby. Good espresso in the morning at Theory Coffee Roasters a few blocks away. I will remember this spot and will seek to come here again. The cost and location were perfect. If only more hotels could be like this one on the road. Thank you Americana Modern.

When I travel alone I usually stay at a different hotel in Redding but I booked this place because I was traveling with my mom. It had such good reviews for cleanliness. There must be a lot of old reviews because this place is nowhere near clean enough to deserve anything better than a 6.5/10 at best. I booked a King room for Sat, July 26, 2025, and a King-King room for Sat, Aug 9, 2025. I will say the bathroom was clean on both occasions. However, the place had obvious cobwebs, questionably clean bedding, and the filters for the A/C unit were FILTHY. The first visit, I didn't even wanna touch the A/C. Unfortunately, I didn't have a choice the second time. Tbh, I meant to cancel the reservation for the return visit but forgot about it with all the stuff that was going on. My mom helped my husband and me move out of our house in WA and relocate to CA. The pictures are from the second visit in the King-King Room, which was even worse than the first visit. Seriously, people? Stevie Wonder could see those cobwebs from space! We arrived an hour after sunset but the room was like an oven! I mean, what do you expect? It was well over 100° on both days and YOU NEVER CLEAN THE A/C FILTERS! It's not hard to do; I did it myself, otherwise the room would never have cooled off. Not only is this basic cleaning, it's good for the environment, prolongs the life of your A/C units, and saves the hotel money on the electric bill. Keeping the filters clean means your A/C units wouldn't have to be cranked up to high 24/7 and your customers will be more comfortable. This is just common sense. The desk staff is extremely friendly. The bathrooms have a nice design and were clean. The mini fridge wasn't working very well, probably because it was so hot. It was passably clean. Overall, I don't think you're in imminent danger of appearing in a Dan Bell video, but if I wanted a hot, dirty room, I could've stayed at the Motel 6 and paid far less. Do better, Americana.

Loved this place! Hip and modern. Nice decor. Busy and I felt safe here -- although I wish the door had a security lock. Super friendly staff. Walkable to restaurants.

Stayed here overnight recently while in town on a roadtrip through the area. This cool retro motor inn is conveniently located right on the main drag through town, literally as soon as you turn onto Market Street immediately on the left hand side of the road. I was greeted walking in by the young man behind the counter. He handled my check in quickly and professionally. I was headed to my overnight space within five minutes. Old school motor inn with interior courtyard parking and sitting areas. The room was basic, comfortable and clean, the king bed comfortable. Some of the standard amenities in room, tv and work station, fridge and storage. All in all a good nights stay and secure comfortable accommodations. 3.5 Stars rounded up for the front desk staff 00991

Well, I'll start by saying check in was pleasant with a very nice woman explaining things and offering our dog a treat. It was fun to try something unique like a retro-style remodeled old motel with good reviews vs. your standard chain hotel. The room was huge with two king size beds and a large bathroom. I wanted to like this place but here are the downsides. We were on the ground floor. About 8 pm we got a family put above us with at least one little person and we heard every single one of those little feet running back and forth. In a more modern hotel this would not be audible and not a problem, but with little insulation between floors it was really not conducive to sleep. When I thought I might call and ask why they had placed a family over us when there are lots of empty units in this building and it was driving our dog (and us) crazy, I realized there are no phones in the room. Obviously there are a few things they overlooked in the "modern" part of the Americana Modern equation. The grey color and low ceilings made the room feel dark and dingy. Quiet location otherwise in a convenient downtown spot. I wish them well here but I'll probably book something actually modern next time for the price we paid.

This is one of my new favorite hotels in Redding. They are not only dog friendly...but dog loving! There is a cute little "dog patio" for your pups to do their business. They had dog treats, pop bags and even dog dishes you could borrow. It is right by a local pub that was playing live music on their patio. Very clean and spacious room. Bed was a little hard for me....but I am spoiled with my own bed at home. Plenty of towels and free bottled water, snacks and coffee in the lobby. Staff was very attentive. It was a fabulous experience!

The Americana Modern is very cozy and comfortable for the area, the location is very accommodating to many eateries within walking distance! Staff were very friendly and hospitality and attentive to the guests who came in! We will be making this our stoppage point to Eugene Oregon! Jess and Mary Borbon

Absolutely amazing place! Well... the place is great, super clean, beautiful, well designed, very practical etc... it has a nice little courtyard, pretty great parking, extremely well located. BUT... the workers.... EVERYONE OF THEM (and I witnessed many of them working) are AMAZING!! What an incredible experience staying here. I'd give more stars if I could. Oh.. also... very reasonably and fair priced. I've stayed in many hotels many many times. This hotel understands what it means to be hospitable!! AWESOME!!

We love this motel! My husband and I have stayed here several times and I have also stayed here alone, because it's clean and safe and the staff is SO nice! We always have a good stay and always feel grateful for a reliable option in Redding for a very reasonable price.

Wow, just WOW! If you are a pet owner and need to stay overnight in Redding there is NO BETTER CHOICE. Hardwood floors, large rooms, green grass pet areas. If this place were to franchise it would put other chains out of business. The large chains should take some notes, THIS is how to travel with pets. If I could give this place more stars or bonus stars It would put it to a 10 star hotel. 2 notes- I found this place via a 3rd party pet friendly site, it did not note the additional $25 per pet fee. I must say it irked me, I also noted on their direct website it doesn't mention till checkout. The awesome front desk lady was contacting management to make changes (hopefully that happens) I will say even with that little nerve rattle it has been worth EVERY PENNY. Place is amazing. 2nd which I shall mention at checkout, the should have pet steps to beds built in or ones you can borrow. I was able to build one using the table benches, ya there's a full on table and retro size fridge, armoire and desk in the room (305 in case it's not all). So I shall mention this because it would just make it even more pet friendly... cause they might have them but ive only been here an hour and could not wait to write this review. I'm in awe.

Americana is conveniently located right by downtown. It's also really close to Sundial/Turtle Bay. Not to mention there is Dutch Bros right across the street! Check in was easy. They texted us prior asking if we had pets and what time we were arriving. King bed was comfortable and had two pillows (soft and firm) for each person. Shower was pretty small though. There was a good amount of sink space. There was loud music playing nearby and it ended around 11pm. You can hear your neighbors and outside noise. It's not a bad place to stay for one night. The front lot gets full by night time. There's more parking in the back. They also have more rooms in the back but it looks like they are not occupied yet.

This place never ceases to amaze me! I always stay here every time I go to Redding & each time has been great . The rooms are super clean , comfortable & pricing is super affordable . Last night we were having some issues with the tv & the guy from front desk literally came to our room to troubleshoot tv. Not sure if it was the heat wave messing with our heads but turns out the tv wasn't plugged in . He solved the issue and couldn't be happier with the excellent service ! Defintely felt reccomend this place . Thanks for always making our stays amazing . If you're thinking of a place to book , do it .. you'll never want to book elsewhere when you're in Redding .

The rooms were clean and each room had an individual air conditioning unit the experience was amazing but it was hard to get luggage up the stairs other than that the only bad part about the stay was leaving because I never wanted to leave the beautiful room.

I discovered Americana Modern Hotel while searching for dog friendly lodging on Bring Fido. After seeing all the glowing reviews there and here on Yelp, I was optimistic it would be a great place to stay. While I found the room itself to be clean and somewhat comfortable, there were areas where the experience fell short. 1. The overall vibe of the place has remnants of its former dilapidated self with a very quick flipped look and some questionable people hanging around the alley area next to the hotel. Essentially it's lipstick on a pig. 2. Parking was a challenge when we arrived. One would expect that having a specific room would also have a specific parking spot close to the room. That is not the case here. It's first come first served, and you could easily end up having to park at the opposite end from your room. 3. For a place that touts itself as pet-friendly, the area where dogs can relieve themselves is pathetic. It's a tiny patch of dirt and small mounds of grass at the back corner of the lot. Finding a spot that didn't already have pet waste was not easy. It also didn't feel particularly safe, especially at night. All that said, the gentleman who checked me in was friendly and helpful. Considering the other options in Redding (especially those that are pet friendly), I would stay here again as a quick overnight stop.

We had a great two day stay at the Americana!! It was right downtown so it was perfect for going to the concert! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Tobias at the front desk , along with Heather were great. The rooms were very clean and roomy, and very comfortable beds. I definitely would recommend if you're looking for something nice and comfortable!

This hotel was just right for us. Inexpensive, clean, comfortable and friendly. It seems to be an older place that has been extensively updated. All the fixtures, lamps, mattresses, bedding, etc. look brand new. And what other hotel offers double KING rooms? The location is in the old downtown area of Redding and convenient to everything. There is an excellent guide book in the room if you need some suggestions. I hope that our travels up and down the 5 will bring us back someday.

I stayed here twice. The first time was August 31st. My bf and I were driving from LA to Oregon and this was the last big/safe city before Oregon. They texted me prior to check in regarding what our ETA is and if we have any pets (I didn't have any pets at the time). Check in was quick and easy, the employee was very nice. Room and bathroom were very clean. There's a microwave, fridge, coffee maker, and TV in the room. Second stay on September 19th. My bf and I came from LA again to pick up my small dog and drive her to Oregon. They were very accommodating. They have a pet area so pets can potty. The pet friendly room had no carpet which was great!!! It's easier to clean up if your pet makes a mess. I was kinda worried I'd be given a run down room because that was my experience with other places whenever I had a pet with me. But Americana Modern Hotel gave me a nice, clean, and well maintained room!!! I've already left them a review on google about three weeks ago. I mentioned that I would stay here again, and I meant it! So happy we stayed here again. Employees are always so kind here! Will def come back and recommend this place to others!

Convenient and clean. It's a motor inn set up like days gone by. Has a mid century modern feel. Staff is nice. Easy check in. Rooms are clean. My only knock is the parking is tight especially when the lot is full. Other than that it's great place.

This is the cutest little roadside motel and I love the concept of taking something old and outdated and turning it into something people will enjoy. The bones of this place have been around a while but the new owners have really put a lot of care into bringing it up to date. The staff is incredible and the location is really convenient. It's a really great place to stay when visiting or road tripping thru.

We enjoyed a great stay at AMH! This completely renovated hotel is located in the downtown area of Redding. Our room was spacious. Expertly cleaned. Comfortable and stylish. My family was treated with the type of kindness and respect you long for when you are away from home. I liked the communication via text, it made me feel like every detail was thought out upon our arrival. This was our first visit to the city of Redding. Americana left a positive impression on us. Clean and Honest! When I made my reservation, I wasn't charged any surprise fees on my credit card. The room was clean and was nice looking. When I checked in the staff were very friendly. A lot of nice restaurants within walking distance. I will definitely stay here again if in Redding or going through.

Lovely, clean updated rooms offering a very comfortable and pleasant stay. The hotel itself is small, but has everything you need in a bright, cheery environment, including a nice selection of complimemtary bottled water, hot coffee and tea available all day. While the room and amenities definitely contributed to a relaxing experience, it was really the team at the hotel that made us feel welcomed. Everyone we encountered seemed joyful, friendly and inviting. In addition, it's very close to town and walkable to a lot of options for dining and shopping. Definitely recommended for an easy, no frills, uncomplicated stay.

This is my favorite place to stay when visiting my family in Redding, CA. Today, I had a Covid emergency and had to cancel last minute - Heather, at the Americana, had so much grace and understanding it made me cry. I booked through Hotels.com and had to be on the phone for hours trying to get the cancellation and hopefully, a refund. Hotels.com finally agreed to send a cancellation but said I would lose all of my money. I understood but was totally bummed because I live paycheck to paycheck. And was worried I might need money for doctor visit and meds due to Covid. Heather, at the Americana, was so kind and understood the situation and said to call them directly next time. I will only be booking through the actual hotel next time. I love this little boutique hotel and highly recommended it before today. Now, I will ONLY stay there in the future Redding visits. Solid stay :) traveled solo and felt safe. The front desk staff was super kind. Amenities (snacks, tea, water etc) are always appreciated. There's plenty of parking too. Would recommend!

10 STARS We were in Redding for 3 weeks due to a family emergency. We spent 3 weeks here. We took turn staying with my daughter in ICU at night. The front desk is wonderful. They kept coffee for me when I woke up late due to staying up at the hospital. They had free fresh brewed coffee, water bottles, granola bars, tea with honey and a washer and dryer. There are many different types of rooms, just ask. I had a huge suite which was so roomy my claustrophobia never kicked it. They accommodated us so well. The front desk was very supportive and considerate. I have never experienced such a warm welcome like this from any other establishment.

Love this place! We often stop in Redding for the night, have stayed at various places. Finally we found this place & will always stay here! Clean, no carpet, quiet at night, great office staff, comfy bed & pillows, smells good, nice outdoor seating area, good coffee in lobby, cold water bottles in office, even dog treats in the office(although I don't have a dog) but appreciate it

ADORABLE! Spent the night halfway on a roadtrip between SF and Bend, and it was a great stop - affordable, pet-friendly, very sweet staff, and cute decor. Highly recommend.

A remodel that cannot cover what once was. Location ~ questionable block of town. To be safe, a night walk for the pup in the hotel parking lot only revealed sketchy folks snooping around. This place needs a periodic security walk through. Reviewers said it is walkable to the town bars and restaurants but it did not feel safe at night. Friendly & proper service by the front desk clerk. Offered two free water bottles as said by other reviewers but is that really a perk? Walked to the lobby later for additional soap to find the staff lounging with a buddy on the couch. Tiny rooms, tiny bathroom. Sheets a bit itchy. A concrete floor made us realize we did not travel with slippers. Nostalgic is the individual AC unit in the window and to wait for it to cook the room. Bring earplugs if you cannot sleep through the mechanical hum. In person our room looked nothing like their website and felt left unfinished in the remodel.

Stayed here for one night and loved it. Rooms were spacious, service was friendly. Only complaint is that the coffee in the morning is very weak so if you want real coffee go to starbucks

This is a great place to stay if u happen to be in Redding. The staff was friendly and got us our room quickly even at 1:30a! Our room exceeded our expectations, it was very clean, nicely decorated, modern and everything was in great shape. They have lots of security cameras and it felt safe there. I can see why this place was full of cars. They are pet friendly and have a little grass area for the dogs to go relieve themselves. For travelers with or without pets this place is your best choice. There's also a great coffee shop right down the street called Downtown grounds.

Love this hotel! We use it at a lot as a stop for our road trip from LA to Eugene, Oregon. The rooms are clean, bed is comfy, and the location is very convenient...easy to arrive and depart. The staff is so nice and reach out to get your ETA and you can text them back to update that...and they always respond. We typically arrive at 1am and they wait for us. Our favorite pit stop hotel! The rooms are very clean and the beds comfy! Complimentary coffee in the morning is delicious. Great hotel with great service!!!

WOW oh WOW I cannot say enough good things. I travel a LOT and I would stay here any time. Lots of hotels remodel but the Americana took the extra step to do several ascetically pleasing extras. For example normally there is just a white trash can, this one is pretty!. I know sounds weird right? there are face wash cloths and thicker ones for showering. The floor is new, the bedding good quality, little special things, a basket for the wash cloths, a nice shower curtain, good towels. a red micro, a kuerig, a good fridge, great pillows and on and on and on. They take dogs. The outside is remodeled. the whole place is homey and cute. When we arrived the clerk was so friendly. She offered suggestions on where to eat etc. She went above and beyond. The office was cute, doggie pictures, dog bags, dog treats! The whole lobby was done really well. we walked the town at night and were totally safe.

Our room was incredibly spacious and clean. Our family was spending the night as my husband was having surgery and we all wanted to spend time together while he took a night to rest before heading home.This hotel was close and at a fair price. Our room was near the covered doggie area important because our pups get up in the middle of the night to go potty. Our grown daughter and her family had the room next to ours. It was actually 2 separate rooms handicap equipped which we forgot to ask for but my son in law was pleasantly surprised when the shower came with a shower chair so he could sit while showering. This is such a cute place and the staff will go to great lengths to insure your stay is as pleasant as possible. We highly recommend the Americana Modern Hotel.

Although our stay was brief, the hotel exceeded our expectations! Front desk attendants are very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is pet friendly and they have Polaroids of all the furry friends that have stayed with them. The room was very clean, I had no concerns whatsoever regarding cleanliness. They also offer coffee from a local coffee roaster in the morning. I highly recommend staying here!

Motel with elevated remodeling. In Old downtown Redding. So definitely cute for a Motel/Hotel vibe. Nice touches. Clean. Off the Highway but relatively quiet. Slightly sketch area. Beds are hard! I was surprised I've never plopped into a bed like that before. So they definitely could upgrade there. The lobby area is teeny tiny. Pictures make it look bigger so there's not really any lobby to Lounge in so to speak. Can hear the people stomping above you. Pet friendly but all concrete and gravel so no where for them to really go. Expensive for what it is. But also very nice for a Motel Remodel. I likely wouldn't stay again because of the location, beds, Price Lack of proper seating area In the lobby to just get out of your room and have a cup of coffee etc But as I said. It is cute for what it is and very clean.

Second trip, OK, but not as good as the first. The personnel at the front desk definitely make the first impression...unlike last visit, they were not as friendly and that was disappointing. The office also smelled like cigarette smoke, which was off-putting. If you have to walk a dog in the neighborhood, bring a mean-looking dog, or someone else along...it's pretty scary. Still...it's the best place to stay in downtown Redding.

This place is beautiful. Super clean and within walking distance of a variety of restaurants and coffee shops. We were pulling a cargo trailer and they even had parking on site for us. Comfortable beds. Enough electrical outlets for all our devices. Our housekeeper, Lauren, was fantastic! She took excellent care of us and was super friendly. This was less expensive than the big chain hotels. This is our new, home away from home.

We loved this hotel - so much character; clean, spacious rooms; friendly hotel staff; and some delightful seating spaces in the outdoor courtyard area. We visited in early May and prices were more than reasonable. Highly recommend!
