My experience was a little different from an average one, as when I arrived, the Bill Smith Memorial Summer Cruise In was occurring. This place can handle a crowd after seeing the amount of people they had in attendance. The museum is not hard to find, being a short drive from Hersheypark and the Interstate. They have plenty of parking.
The ticket desk is located near the main entrance. Due to the event that was occurring, admission was discounted from the normal $14 to $10. The number of cars on display just in the entrance area was a positive start. Museum is three floors that's fully handicap accessible. The first floor contains most of the main car displays, bottom has the bus displays with additional cars, and the top has various display/memorabilia items.
Displays are rotated every few months, but the car collection and vehicles on loan are stellar. They also have the correct balance of displays, hands on, and digital interactives that many other museums don't exactly get right. Some of the more interesting exhibits at the time of my visit included a full model train display, which I didn't expect to see here. They have a small 50's diner mock-up you can walk into and look around. Perhaps most notable in the museum, along with being one of the largest, is the Tucker display. It includes Tucker #1, another original Tucker, one of the movie cars, prototype engines, test chassis, a replica of his office, and various design plans.
Various two- and three-wheel motorbikes/ATV's also get significant representation. Gift shop was ok, had a decent selection but didn't really stand out. Most museums suggest planning an hour for a visit, with this one you can plan on spending easily two hours here. Staff were friendly and helpful during my visit. Overall, the AACA Museum is absolutely worth a visit and the price of admission.
