I have stayed at this location in the past and was highly impressed. This time I noticed the room and overall property and room was not cleaned properly. The front desk staff used to be very friendly and inviting. No so much on this latest stay. Every interaction I had with the front desk staff seemed to liked I was bothering them. Greeted with attitude and never felt welcome or that my business mattered. Mind you I wanted to just purchase some items from the little store, and second interaction was to extend my say another day. Looks like things are starting to go downhill at this property. I hope things change because I do like to stay there when I am in the area.

I had my first visit to this casino with my daughter yesterday and I must say I was impressed! The layout of the gaming floor itself is a little bit wonky, even compared to casino standards, but it was still nice and clean. It was a bit smokey but that's part of the deal you make when you go into a casino. A couple things really stood out about this place that made me think it is the best casino in the Chicago area overall. First off the staff, from the people helping me get my new players club cards, to the dealers, the pit bosses, the bartenders and the custodial staff were incredibly friendly. I had to keep checking to make sure I wasn't at Disneyland. Second, I was impressed with the perks I got for being a new Players Club member. There was some nice comps for either gaming or food and beverage and other fun things to do to earn some fun prizes. The trip over from the city is not terrible especially on a Saturday morning. You're going to hit tolls- that just comes with the territory. But overall I had a very positive experience at this casino and other than the smokiness, I had no complaints at all. I will be back.

The rooms was very nice, spacious, and clean! ( king room ). Loved the fishing spots all around the hotel. Checking in was easy, asked for a rolling cart to load our car and the bus staff brought one out to the car and wouldn’t leave it so feeling awkward being watched unloading your car, my husband told the bus boy we would just carry it to our room. They push your stuff all the way to your room, wait for you to unload the cart and they take the cart back. I understand the idea of it but not all people wants someone staring at them with their stuff for 30 minutes. Went later to buy a pop when checking out and lady acted bothered to help me and didn’t talk. I asked if everything was complete and she said yes. Location is very easy to get around, besides getting lost wondering around between the parking garage and hotel. ( inside the buildings ). The beach next door was very dirty with trash on the beach. We just walked the beach at night so maybe they didn’t have time to clean it, but it was a lot of trash on beach. First time traveling to Indiana and I did not realize that every direction you look are steel mills with huge pollution stacks. I told my husband I’m surprised if people that are local don’t have respiratory problems. Little concerning just because they are literally everywhere…. Casino was very scattered around and not as big as I had thought. It’s a nice casino for locals or an extra touch to the casino but I would not travel far to go to the casino alone. Two nights we ate at the espn bet and was not thrilled about the food. Very out priced for quality and quantity. Pictures show my $8 cup of chicken for my salad, and my $8 potato soup made with Alfredo sauce 2nd night we went to Hard Rock casino down the road and spent hours down there playing. The overall experience I would give 8/10. Room 10/10. ESPN restaurants 6/10. Casino 7/10 Parking 10/10 Fishing 10/10 Beach 7/10 Price 8/10 ( hotel , not food lol)

Rooms were nice, clean, and mostly comfortable, although the fact that there is a motion sensor wired to the AC, and overnight or anytime we left the room, the AC would shut off and the room would reach temps of 74-76 degrees by the time we returned or woke up, seriously sucked! On top of all that, the room smelled like an ashtray, and I don’t mean that it smelled like there was ashtray in the room, it smelled like the entire room was an ashtray, and this was a non-smoking room, on a non-smoking floor. Luckily, a trip to Walmart for some air freshener, fabric freshener, and a fan mostly resolved the issues listed above. Room coffee sucked, and it would have been nice to at least get coffee down in the lobby, but the only machine, evidently owned/supplied by Starbucks, was out of order or they didn’t have coffee beans to stock the machine, 3 out of the 4 days we spent there.

Google
wish ac could have been little colder. seems like hotel controls the temp not going lower than 72. we set at 69 and never moved below 72. smoking in casino floor not good. why not go outside to smoke like everywhere else? food was very good at bar area.

Google
We stayed at this hotel four nights. Housekeeping did not clean it at any time. Every evening we would go down to the front desk and ask for housekeeping. Each time they said they had it set up and the next day the room would be cleaned. They also claimed that casinos do not provide daily housekeeping and that we had to request it. During this time we were never given fresh towels, or even had trash cans, emptied. Every evening, We had to go down to the desk and request more towels, and they would lie to us some more about how the room would be cleaned the next day. even at Motel six you get your room cleaned every day.

Diana Taylor

Google
We made reservations with early check in at 9 am. Got there at 9 am to be told our room was not available. Offered us a smoking room. Or a room with two beds. Neither of which we ordered. Then told us we would have to pay a cancellation fee. After talking to management and being told we should have read the fine print.. room was cancelled and no fee charge. Oh and the bathrooms by check in were disgusting. Won’t be back.

I recently stayed at the hotel and I had extended my stay and a bunch of different things including a broken hand ! But Ms. Danica was absolutely amazing . She was so patient and kind. She was also training a gentleman, he was very kind as well. I appreciate them so much, because of them , I’ll be back 🫶🏽

Yelp
Went to this casino on a lunch meeting and the food was good. I had the turkey burger and it came with fries. Burger was huge and full of flavor, the fries were crunchy just perfect. I didn't play any games but maybe next time when I come back I will. Recommend going on weekday less people. Service was good as well. Ambiance of the place was clean and not chaotic. Definitely will come back .

Yelp
The room was very big and it had 2 queen sized bed!! The bathroom was also spacious! Tho there was no microwave oven. The staffs were friendly. Also we got the room as a complimentary!

Yelp
Their management policy even getting worse . this business keeps sending me invitation for free hotel stay.guess what? I was been told, I have to pay $10 amenities fee for my staying the hotel, I have to pay $10 for booking. So I still need to pay $20 for free hotel stay ---- it's so funny isn't it

Yelp
Was in town for a show at the Horseshoe and stayed here for one night since it was close. Pros: Isaac, the front desk clerk was extremely nice. He made check-in a breeze. It wasn't very busy for a Friday night Plenty of self-parking The room decor was nice The bed was comfortable Cons: This place is off the beaten path and is tedious to find. You are literally driving around and through the BP petroleum refinery. The casino is NOT smoke-free‍ There is no microwave in the room, only a small dorm-size fridge. If you get the munchies late at night I suggest you bring food with you before you get to the hotel. Can't speak on the in-house restaurants, but there are no fast food spots (McDs, Popeyes, BK, TB etc) in this area and it looks like things shut down pretty early around here. The walls are thin. We were awakened by room doors slamming because housekeeping was cleaning rooms on our floor starting at 8:30-9 am. Every time they entered/exited a room all you heard (and felt) was BLAM!! BLAM!! It was extremely annoying because we planned to sleep in late since we weren't checking out till 11:00am. My biggest problem was that as nice as the room looked, it was filthy. There was hair (not mine) on the bathroom floor and in the tub. There was a shoe footprint and a used wash cloth in the shower. The toilet hadn't been flushed there was urine still in it. There was stuff in the bathroom trash can. The carpet hadn't been vacuumed and the entire room looked like it hadn't been dusted in forever. Based on hearing the door slams from housekeeping happen every 15 mins, I can see why this room wasn't clean. Not nearly enough time to adequately clean and sanitize these rooms. Which is crazy to me in the post-pandemic era. The front desk closes at 9pm and since we were only going to be there overnight we just pulled out the disinfectant wipes and lysol we always travel with, cleaned & sanitized everything and called it a day. Pricey at $177 for one night (and that was with a pre-pay discount). We won't be back...for that price I 'd rather schlep to/from downtown Chicago to a better hotel.

Yelp
I wish the parking lot was better labeled on where to park as a hotel guest. Parked in the garage and then had to lug my suitcase all over and through the casino to find the hotel check-in. Casino is a maze of rooms with a lot of older slot machines. They did have some newer machines in the front. Gaming area was very clean and staff was friendly. Employees are great, both the Hotel & restaurant staff was very friendly and helpful! Hotel room was very clean. But bed was hard and pillows were kind of lumpy. I prepaid for room online, but upon check-in, learned there was a $10 resort fee. I hate scams like this. Why do they need to squeeze an extra $10 out of me when they could just be honest about the full price up front. Overall, a clean quiet hotel and Might consider staying here again

Yelp
Can't say this is the biggest casino - bc it isn't and frankly I couldn't believe how small it really is, but it was nice and clean. I usually gravitate to the roulette wheel which I did and played while watching the F1 race. I really like how the large open area has restaurants and the sportsbook, as well as the table games in one cul de sac if you will with large screens above showing a variety of sports. I did well in terms of gambling - would come back if needing a fix of some gambling

Yelp
I want to thank Mr. James the bell hop manager for all his help, guidance customer service. He was knowledgeable about the hotel and the surrounding area. He is polite, professional and caring. I look forward to coming back as a guest.

Yelp
I came home to visit a few months ago and stayed at the Ameristar, the room was good but Danica guest service was AMAZING! She made me miss home! I will be staying at the Ameristar every time I come to visit! thank you so much Danica

Yelp
So I wrote about a year and a half ago, a review of this place and I was pretty hard on them for being filthy, noisy, outdated, and gross. This time I'm going to tell you that it literally hasn't been cleaned since last time I was there.., The games are the most outdated things I have ever seen in my life. They have the entire downstairs floor shut off, 1/2 the upstairs is shut off, and the other side doesn't have a slot created after 2003. Filth: it's absolutely disgusting in there. Glasses, 5 full ashtrays for every machine, a nice mist of grease as you walk through the rooms making you feel like you immediately need a shower.. Homeless looking patrons: These players are a different breed. Seems to be a law that if someone is playing a machine 30-40 feet away they can take the totally taped up and im sure soiled chairs, turn it around , put a full ashtray on it, and that reserves the machine for them for whenever they want it. And if you look at the machine, they immediately charge at you, saying that's mine that's mine... Heat: If you ever are in hell and you'd like to actually be hotter, step inside this casino, and you will warm up. Theres zero reason for it to be like that.. Music: Stupid, Loud, but it distracts you from all the emphysema patients hacking up lungs on the Sun and Moon machine from 1989. An absolutely disgusting place with ZERO care for the customers. Never ever again.

Yelp
Had a great time NYE 2023.....the vibe on the casino floor was a nice change from the usual. Despite no balloon drop or entertainment/show at midnight the DJ helped welcome in 2024!!

Yelp
I have a large project in the area and Ameristar is a close option for a hotel room. many times I need to check in late, and they do a great job at accommodating my needs. Today's check-in was beyond stellar. If I could give a six star rating, I would. Tonyannita greeted me at the front desk, knew exactly what she was doing, was polite and courteous, and got into my room for some well needed rest. Kudos on the excellent display of true hospitality. Keep it up!

Yelp
Terrible place. I'm in my early 20s and wanted a cheap fun weekend. Huge regret. Place is surrounded by the steel mill, feels grey, worn and sad all around the building. Once inside, you'll notice the amount of old farts playing games and smoking. Super lame local loser vibes. Games are all app-based and feel like Fortnite iPad slots. Food is also terrible. Service was slow but still kind. Hotel itself was musty. Hadn't been updated since the 90s. Body hair in our comforter and no fitted sheets. Never staying here again. Avoid this place at all costs

Yelp
Sam is the rudest bartender I have ever met. You ask her to put sports on a tv in a bar, she tells me that we don't do that. Remember I am in a casino with a sports book.

Yelp
We came here to be treated by an acquaintance to the Heritage Buffet (with steak/shrimp) on Saturday. Plus I always like seeing what other perks and odds are out there casino-wise. We came by hourly shuttle bus in Chinatown. It's free to ride from there, and about a 35 or 40 minute ride. We received $15 slot credits for signing up and giving our email address. In the middle where you can go to select a restaurant, they had live entertainment! The buffet area was well lit but with no outside view like at Majestic Star. We were seated and taken care of nicely, even when the server had to step out. There were many staples, but Horseshoe is so much bigger(sorry!): Asian food, fried shrimp, pasta, soup, carving station, pie, fro yo. All was good except the salad bar; the lettuce was a little brown. They only serve wine and beer there, fyi. The place is open for kids too since you don't have to pass the casino to get there. The machines were profitable, thanks to a tip from our acquaintance; there we did not order drinks from the bar so I can't comment on that. I Will say there was no heavy smoke smell, just carpet deodorant, so this was the best smelling casino I went to! I went past the no-smoking area but did not play.

Yelp
Place is an absolute clown show. Was nice years ago, but the last few times - complete joke. Good luck finding a bartender, and the one I found (AT THE MAIN LEVEL BAR) told me she "was done". I'll never come back.

Yelp
This hotel was absolutely amazing & beautifu! The staff was super nice and accommodating from valet parking, from desk staff, door bell man, casino security and restaurant staff (sports bar) were ALL welcoming and friendly. we asked for a nice view and was given a room looking over the beach. We requested for late check out; they honored our request without hesitation. Called valet at check out; our car was pulled around and ready The room was clean and I absolutely love the bathroom!! Husband & I will be back most definitely!

Yelp
1st New Year's Eve out since Covid. So happy we picked the casino. They had a DJ who had the whole casino floor singing and dancing. The restaurant staff was awesome letting us put in our food order right when the kitchen was supposed to close. The manager even came to find us and deliver the food. All the staff was friendly and it was great vibe the entire night. It was a great way to bring in the New Year.

Yelp
The service over the phone was insanely terrible, along with their policies. We told the hotel that our fight was getting in late at night. They responded that they may not be able to hold onto our room...that we had already paid for and booked! The rooms themselves are big and look great. Charles at the front desk was cordial and great. The casino portion wasn't really my cup of tea.

Calvin R.

Yelp
I took my fiancé for a stay and was welcomed with a **BED BUG** infested room. I'm incredibly embarrassed after my stay at Ameristar Casino/ Hotel located in East Chicago Indiana. This experience was truly horrifying and every travelers worst nightmare. You can tell this place has gone down hill at a fast rate, no chance this place stays afloat. None of the staff take pride in themselves and that is clear. Too bad the nearby casinos don't have a hotel yet!! Do better people!!

Jacob J.

Yelp
The most family oriented casino I've ever been to, everyone knew everyone and it was nothing but a great time my whole weekend here! Will definitely be coming back and look for Ms.Radiance again. She was very helpful throughout my whole stay answering all my questions and helping me feel very welcomed to Chicago.

Lakisha W.

Yelp
Jaelin has amazing customer service. He is definitely a addition to this company. He is polite and always has a smile. He takes care of customers in a timely manner which is important

Yelp
I recieved horrible treatment from the housekeeping staff Dana and Kionna in particular. The front desk clerk Sherita is mean, nasty and rude and picks and chooses the guests that she is nice to. When I complained the hotel manager she found a way to bar me from the hotel. I was bitten by a bed bug, the hotel bathroom was dirty, the carpet was filthy, the heat did not work and on top of all of that there was an emergency evacuation in the middle of the night due to a huge leak at the front desk! The host offered one night free for that incident. Guests were forced to stand in the lobby for hours. Moral of the story don't complain to the hotel manager Ivana because she will find a way to turn it around in favor of the hotel.

Yelp
Needs an Update but an Overall Good Experience!! I had the chance to stay at the Ameristar Casino hotel during a business trip to the East Chicago area. I had a very early appointment the next day and didn't want to stay in Hammond or Portage this time. After checking many reviews I decided to give the Ameristar Casino a shot. As I cam off the highway there are signs that clearly indicate where the casino is. When you enter the property there is Valet parking, a massive covered parking area and an outside parking lot. I used the covered parking lot and made my way into the hotel and checked in. - (A tip for the folks who check guests in, ask where they parked since I was given a high floor room in the tower opposite from the covered parking garage.) It was quite the hike with a duffel bag, backpack and 2 suitcases. No worries though, I just found it a little annoying. I made way to the elevator and all the way up to the room. When I entered the room I immediately got this 'glory from a past era' vibe. The room itself was spacious but reminded me of a casino hotel I stayed in, in Laughlin NV in the '90s, still, the room was clean, it had only a slight odour of smoke and the furniture was dated, as another reviewer mentioned, I had the same peeling couch in my room. Overall the room was large, the furniture comfortable and the bathroom was very palatial. One of the positives of my stay was the view, I had a really good view of the shoreline and it was a clear sunny day which made the experience better. The wifi in the room was strong and I was able to get some work done. For the foodie, the hotel features an award-winning steakhouse, a sports bar, a buffet-style restaurant and a burger shop. All standard in any casino-hotel property. however, I would like to see an early morning specialty coffee bar, that would be great as I had to drive all the way to Dunkin' just to get a decent coffee. I could not find the fitness center so I went for a long walk around the hotel and beach area, which was a very nice stroll. The hotel simply needs a facelift and the staff should be more attentive to guests' needs, otherwise, everything else was great. There aren't many options in East Chicago, so for the price, this is a good value.

Jamie G.

Yelp
Clarice and Isaac were very nice and great at their job. They were able to check us in quickly. The room was great--clean and spacious. Bathroom had a tub that looks at shower.

Yelp
Ameristar EC is been very disappointing lately .I'm a Preferred Card holder which you need to spend at least 40,000$ a year to be a Preferred Member. We have access to the Club 38 ViP lounge. Its quality has been very awful lately. They serve there members box lunches which are pre paired we have no choice .Pictures included of today's lunch.Frozen corn cob ,BBQ potato chips & mini frozen shrimp....

Yelp
This place is ridiculous and unorganized. No one knew what they were doing. First we attempted to go to the all you can eat seafood buffet. We paid for our meals and then we were informed the restaurant would be closing in about 20 minutes. We asked for refunds and went in search of another eatery. We decided to try the steakhouse, waited a while to be seated. Once we were finally seated, we attempted to place our order, only to be told they were out of some of the food items. When we finally placed all of our orders, a manager came to our table and informed us children weren't allowed in the restaurant past 10pm and it was approx 9:50. We left and found a sports bar, asked if children could eat there at that time and we were told they could absolutely eat there. We were seated after a lengthy wait, only to be informed by that manager, children allowed there either after 10pm. Wowzer!

Yelp
Under major construction and very confusing to get around. 4 levels with which are not well marked or identified. I had to walk to each level to find out which game/slots were located where. Escalator was broken on one level and older people had to walk up a pretty lengthy set of stairs to get out. Might be nice when it's all fixed up. Right now I'm not too impressed.

Yelp
Love the Ameristar good food good staff good fun. Stayed for the 4th ate at Bugatti had an awesome time and even won a little money. You most stay at the Ameristar at least once.

Yelp
Decided on a road trip to Indiana. Had never been here before. Easy drive, on beautiful Lake Michigan, had some free play. Proper COVID safety rules in place altho towards the end of my evening it was over crowded and people were not social distancing. 4 or 5 congregate around 1 slot interfering with my space and playing slots! Slots seemed looser here and I did win a small jackpot. I will be back because they gave me epic free play the next 2 weeks!!!!

Yelp
UNHAPPY CUSTOMER Review of Ameristar Casino Hotel East Chicago Reviewed 3 days ago We arrived at the Ameristar Hotel Casino in E Chicago on September 28th for our anniversary. The hotel was very nice and clean and the staff was friendly. We went to our room and I was even more impressed. My husband and I sat on the bed to watch TV. I moved the pillows to pull the sheets back and there was a stain on the linen. In the mist of COVID it was very unsanitary. We called the front desk to complain about the soiled linen. The staff told us to come down to get fresh sheets. We checked out on the 29th. We had to leave, so I called to complain about the stain. I left a message for management and I did not receive a call back. Called again October 1, and Chanel the manager returned my call. I told her about the stained linen and she said they have never had a complaint about their rooms, but was apologetic. She said they were short staffed with housekeeping and this is why we had to go to the front desk to get the sheets. Also, Chanel said the cleaning crew doesn't go in the rooms after 5 o'clock or until check out. She said she would have the head of housekeeping call me for more details. Once I spoke to Chanel about the specifics she said oh I remember that situation and I remember your husband coming down to get the sheets. With Chanel being the manager she failed at Customer Service. She did not offer any compensation Also, I asked a staff to explain the one time amenity fee of $10 and the young lady was very rude. Chanel was very apologetic and said she would use this as a coaching opportunity to coach her team. Needless to say, I was very dissatisfied how the hotel team treated paying patrons

Yelp
Pinnacle spent millions of dollars to upgrade the casino areas. I agree they did a great job however the maintenance of the hotel has been neglected the furniture is old and worn out. Additionally, the carpet needs cleaning. When I checked in yesterday, I pull the covers back on the bed to check for bed bugs and the bedding was disgusting. It looks like housekeeping just made the bed at the last customer left and didn't change the bedding. I'm long-time customer of this hotel and I'm saddened to see how rundown it has gotten over the last couple of years

Yelp
Ask yourself this: If they removed the word "casino" from the name of this place, would you ever go to East Chicago on any kind of a trip ever to stay in a hotel there? Of course you wouldn't, so let's just dispense with all the reviews regarding the hotel on here: of course it's not good! What it's really good for is the sportsbook and the Stadium Grill. The Blue Chump's sportsbook is a tiny little add-on box that they just threw in there. Horseshoe's is just a flat-out disaster. The SG is overpriced, but they have an actual chef, a nice bar and it is right in the middle of all the action. Next time, just come in the backside of the second level entrance from the parking garage. Everything worth it about this place is there, and you never even have to look at the rest of it.

Curt M.

Yelp
SMOKEY and way too tight! Even in the smoke free area, the air quality is quite lacking, while the rest of the place smells like an old stale car ashtray. A buddy and me each threw $20 in a slot without as much as 1 credit. We WON"T be back!

Yelp
So this is by far the worst experience I've ever had In a hotel. Housekeeping was good the 1st 2 days I even tipped Extra for the service (even thou they charge an extra 10.00 daily)the 3rd and going forward Housekeeping either didnt show up even after Letting them know the room was ready or 1 night after Tipping 2 times in a day they put Blood stained sheets On my bed the casino wasn't much better before my arrival I was sent an email saying I had 80.00 in coupons (lowest amount given to me in a casino) Only to find out on the machine I use to check in showed all zero's their system showed different when asked why that was ..No answer was given other than For them to say well we have your points here... at check out they charge a additional $50.00 deposit even thou your paying hundreds for the room when I asked to be compensated for the service I received I was told I would get a coupon for a free meal....all I can say is they CLEARLY do not value their client's I wont be returning

Yelp
The air quality in the rooms and throughout the hotel is absolutely terrible. It's stinks of cigarette smoke and weed worse than anything I've ever experienced. If u like to breathe, do not stay here! I will add though, that the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are actually quite nice and clean. Huge bathroom and jacuzzi tub.. But I will not be staying there again for the air quality.

Yelp
I kept receiving offers from Ameristar for a free 2 night stay so I decided to take them up on their offer. I was greeted promptly by 2 guards and the registration desk reps. Registration was easy. My room was ready before 4pm. Very nice. Elevator requires u insert your room key to access any floor. An extra level of security - kudos Ameristar!! My room was on the 13th floor - hallway was clean though i smelled weed. Seems to be the norm nowadays. Room was neat, clean, smelled good. Only prob is in the shower there is no step. Not all of us are spring chickens. We need to place our foot on a step so we can wash thoroughly. You control your room temp, a plus. The bed pillows are way to soft for me. If u like firm pillows, bring your own. Fridge there, drawers for clothes, a closet, a door separates toilet from tub & shower which are separate, very nice. Tv is large, love the desk area, nice sofa & table. The lobby is contemporary, up to date; good job Ameristar. Thanks for the free stay.

This hotel is beyond amazing and we were very lucky to stay here. My wife and I wanted to go to Indiana Dunes and were looking for a good hotel. This hotel was about 30 mins from there so she didn't want it at all. I kept pushing and for once in my life won the battle! It was the right decision. We pulled right in to a welcoming huge hotel and parked our car on the side. We could have used the free valet but I found no need for it. The lobby was beautiful and so clean. The inner architecture and fine touches like fire places really set it apart. We were given our room key from a great customer service rep and went to the 13th floor. We could see the water out from our floor and the beach. It was a great view. You get into the room and it has so much space! The king size bed was very comfortable and lined up perfectly with the huge LCD TV. My wife was a very big fan of the pillows too haha. Everything looked very clean. The bathroom was epic with a giant bath tub that was big enough for two adults AND a shower that was separated so two people could use either one at the same time. There were also plenty of towels. The price was great and the location was perfect. They have an amazing buffet down stairs and of course the casino itself! We were told there was a beach right by the hotel, but we didn't have time to go. We will be back!

Yelp
Use to come to Ameristar ALL the time. Have not been back in almost a year now. No bonus rounds anymore, you play on a machine for over a hour and you still don't get in the bonus round! And, if you do get in it, it's not worth it because it don't pay JACK!!!!!

Yelp
For nice faculty. We really enjoyed our 2 night stay. The rooms are clean and the bathroom is gorgeous. Convenient to food and casino. Loved our stay.

Yelp
Only went here for casino. The place is ok. A lot of smoking area and there machine was down so couldn't get the point on the cards. There are mostly a little table and slots on certain area. Probably won't come back here again but we see.

Yelp
I wrote a review, back in January, a five star review. I love level 2 the best, and was so surprised and pleased to find that it was non-smoking and CLEAN. We took a trip yesterday for a friend's birthday to find out that the happiness was GONE. Level two was smelly, smoky, and filthy. No one cleaned any ashtrays, I had to keep placing them on the floor, and (ugh) removing my mask to blow all of the fricking ashes off of the place where you put your hands on the machine. What do the smokers do, flick their freaking ashes all over the place? And...not to mention blowing their potential covid germs all over. One woman kept her mask down and alternated between sipping her drink and dragging her cigarette. I couldn't run away fast enough. I did love the Ameristar in January, and swore I'd keep coming from Illinois. I think I'll stick to my non-smoking casinos here. I have three within a half hour of my home. I was driving an hour to Ameristar because of the variety. But it was disgusting. Also, you might want to put some extra chairs around. It was disappointing to find a slot and not a chair because some couple wanted to sit together at a slot. Not cool. I tried asking for the chair that belonged, but I valued my life. I think maybe the attendants should be watching that. You DO want people to play the machines, don't you?

Yelp
This review is for the sportsbook at Ameristar specifically. I was told by an associate at the sportsbook that I would be able to cash in a winning ticket as long as I had a picture of the complete ticket barcode. He said they would have to check the cameras to verify that I placed the bet, for which I had no problem with. I drove the hour out there (instead of going home and getting the tickets because I had been informed that I could do so) and then started with a supervisor who said it would be too much work to do that, and that he didn't know why the employee would say that. After mentioning that it was a lot of work, he asked to take care of another customer instead of me first. He proceeds to have an argument with the gentleman for 15 minutes with me waiting for him. After taking more time writing down the info for the tickets I was trying to cash in, a sportsbook manager came who told me they couldn't do it. They said I had too many tickets (8) to cash in, he proceeds to make a comment that if I had "one or two" they could do it, but not for all of them. I then asked if w could cash in "one or two" of the 8 tickets to which he said "not anymore". I told him that I had spent an hour driving out of my way to cash in tickets for a sportsbook that had been closed for 2 months, and he said "it's an inconvenience" and didn't seem apologetic at all. I was made to waste time (not just driving, but waiting for the supervisor to have an argument with another customer) as well as gas to come out. Needless to say, once I do cash in the tickets I have, I find it hard to believe I will come out of my way to make anymore bets with this type of customer service.

Yelp
This casino use to be my favorite of them all. I haven't been in several months while in this pandemic. I decided to go last weekend. I did enjoy looking at the changes that had been made. The hallway slots and the new slot rooms. BUT, as I went to the second floor (as always) to play the $1 slots, I will give you ALL the NO's that I observed. NO air flowing ( it was very warm) NO beverages being served NO music NO smoking I stayed about 3 hours and only saw 1 slot host It took 20 minutes for a slot host to come fix my reel tilt And lastly, NO JACKPOTS! I normally see the slot host walking with security to pay out. I saw NONE the 3 hours I were there! I totally understand that precautions must be taken during the pandemic. But, it was very uncomfortable and everyone appeared to be walking around and feeding the machines like they were at a funeral service! I will not be going back there no time soon.

Yelp
Stayed here two nights. Denise at the front, is great. She was very professional and personable. She helped me quickly check in and have me a few complimentary waters which was nice. When I got to my floor I noticed heaps of towels and sheets laying on the floor all the way down the hallway, as well as in front of my door. At first I thought 'great, they just cleaned my room!' I would our later that was not the case. You ever had an instance where one small thing leads to another and then boom you're like wtf? That's how this was. First I noticed finger prints all over the mirror, then I noticed what I'm hoping was shampoo on the shower door and what looked I be chunks of shampoo or a snot rocket on the shower wall where the soap is held. As I open my suitcase near the couch I noticed what I thought was a light mark from wear the size of my Han on the arm rest and what I hoped was drops of lotion. Well with a damp towel and 10 seconds of wiping half of that mark came off on the towel as a dark residue, so I decided to leave the rest for housekeeping. Then I noticed short curly hairs on the cover sheet. I stripes that back and found a few what look to me old blood stains on a small corner of the comforter. When I pulled the comforter back I found a long hair on the sheet. When I pulled the sheets off the bed I found a what I can only suspect is a urine stain that was roughly the size of my calf. So then I took the pillow cases off and all four had light yellow stains which I suspected was sweat. I wrapped two pillows in a shirt I brought. When I finally got to sleep my suspicions about the stains being sweatvq were confirmed as I was awakened by the smell of liquor and smoke... I don't smoke, and havn't drank in a few weeks. I know what you're thinking... If it was that bad why didn't you ask for another room? Honestly in my opinion, first impressions are a lasting one. I was by myself on business, I had already unpacked so I could 'suck it up'. With this first impression I wasn't even sure if I asked for a new room if it would be any better... Or be worse. Would I bring my wife here? Definitely not.

Yelp
A real Shit-Hole...The ride there (Cline Avenue) is horrible. The Parking Tower is a night-mare. The whole Casino smells like an Ash Tray..... The Stadium was way over-priced and the food Sucked!! Will NOT go back there!! Very Disappointed
