Yelp
Hotel with a Tripadvisor walkability a perfect 100, in the center of Lucerne, Switzerland. 174 restaurants within 0.3 miles, and 52 attractions within 0.3 miles. Can't get much better than that unless you stay at West 57th by Hilton in Manhattan!
Hotel is located on a side street 300 feet from the Rosengart museum full of Picasso paintings, and 500 feet from the world famous wooden chapel bridge.
If you come by train, it's only 1000 feet from the main train station.
We were part of a tour group of 42, and one of several tour groups booked in this hotel. Hardest part was unloading everyone's luggage from the tour bus in the narrow side street for our two night stay.
Our room on the fourth floor was 9' x 14' , very modern design, with two twin beds pushed together. No balcony, but the floor to ceiling windows opened partially, overlooking the hotel entrance on a quiet side street.
Very space efficient, with sitting chair, and circular glass table with 2 large complimentary bottles of mineral water, refreshed each day. Closet for hanging clothes, and shelves for storing more clothes above the closet, but a reach for most people. Numerous electrical outlets at the nightstand, and coffee maker.
Room came with electronic safe, coffee machine, and dorm sized refrigerator. Do not remember seeing any mini bar. TV mounted on the wall out of the way, which we never used, as everything in German. Free wifi.
Bathroom had a very deep full size bathtub.
Temperature control fixed with modern AC.
The rooms with the best views are those sixth floor rooms with a mountain view of the Chapel Bridge and Lake over the rooftops from the balcony, for which you pay a heavy surcharge.
During breakfast in the basement, met Nailli and Carol K of Cupertino. They were easy to spot, as the only Asians in the room, besides myself. We're 5000 miles from home, and meet people living 5 miles from our home!
Don't expect a good night's sleep on a Friday or Saturday night, as loud noise from rowdy patrons in the downstairs bar well into the early morning!
