AMERON Neuschwanstein Alpsee Resort & Spa (Schwangau, Bavaria) 3 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"There are few places in Europe as picturesque as this corner of Bavaria, where the fairy-tale Neuschwanstein Castle stands on a forested mountainside overlooking the waters of the Alpsee and the peaks beyond. The Ameron Neuschwanstein Alpsee Resort & Spa takes some of its stylistic cues from the ornate historicist castle, as it includes three antique hotels among its buildings; to these it adds a pair of contemporary buildings that complement the historical structures without imitating them." - Tablet Hotels

Super convenient to the castles and all around a great place to stay. If you are coming in to tour the castles, go ahead and check in and walk from the hotel, as it is closer than the parking lots (wish we'd known that before). The view from our room was of both castles, so that part was really cool. We stayed in the older building, which was pretty cool, as the room was big and the bathroom was big also. We were however on the top floor and it didn't have an elevator so hauling the luggage was a chore. As with several of the German hotels we stayed in, this building doesn't have air conditioning, which isn't terrible because you can open windows but you definitely want some fans to move some air. Breakfast was great, might have been the best on our trip. The overall setting on the lake was very pretty and cool to walk around late in the afternoon. If you are staying in the area overnight, this is the place to stay.

Great location for visiting the castle. All within walking distance. Great staff. Very pleasant to deal with and was even able to help us get tickets for the castle. We had a great view of the lake. Good sized room, very big bathroom. Highly recommended!

Perfect from start to finish! The staff was incredibly kind, welcoming, and very helpful. The room was very comfortable, and the spa was great. The views throughout the hotel were breathtaking, and the highlight? The pool with its stunning view of the castle—just wow! I highly recommend it, 10/10!

Superb location, but expensive. Tiny room, no room for toiletries. Party was very spread out as hotel is made up of several connected buildings of varying age. One party had tiny room in great condition, other had huge room in old condition. Did not know this at booking. Consider this practice disingenuous. Spa was excellent. Had to walk through restaurant to get to our room. Strange experience. Breakfast was expensive but delivered. Glad I experienced location, but would not go back.

We didn't know that this hotel is a Michelin star hotel until we got checked in. So we had tried all their amenities and services such as their gym and their restaurant and bar. Their restaurant has excelkebt food but food choices is limited. Their bar is beautifully design but lack of hotel guests because many of us have to wake up early to see the castles and hiking. Overall it was a very nice hotel, just find the soze of our typical room is too small and price of the room is pricey.

Wonderfully situated property within walking distance of both castles and the lake. Great morning breakfast, bar and traditional Bavarian restaurant. My wife and I both had spa treatments which were nice after a day of hiking all over. This is by far the stand out property in the area and I hope to return again.

The hotel service is excellent, and the reception staff’s attitude is impeccable. The rooms are very clean and tidy, with plenty of space, and the view from the floor-to-ceiling windows is simply stunning. The breakfast offers a wide variety of options, all of high quality, showcasing the care put into every detail. The gym and sauna are also great. Overall, this is a warm yet somewhat luxurious hotel that I absolutely love.

It is a wonderful hotel, so close to the two castles. Especially on Friday mornings, bring your jogging suit and shoes; you can enjoy a wonderful sightseeing tour.
