AMERON Neuschwanstein Alpsee Resort & Spa (Schwangau, Bavaria) 3 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"There are few places in Europe as picturesque as this corner of Bavaria, where the fairy-tale Neuschwanstein Castle stands on a forested mountainside overlooking the waters of the Alpsee and the peaks beyond. The Ameron Neuschwanstein Alpsee Resort & Spa takes some of its stylistic cues from the ornate historicist castle, as it includes three antique hotels among its buildings; to these it adds a pair of contemporary buildings that complement the historical structures without imitating them." - Tablet Hotels

Incredible location, surrounded by mountains and next to a lake. Great walking in the area, with fantastic scenery. Walking distance from both the Hohenschwangau and (a bit further) Neuschwanstein castles. About 40 mins walk each to the towns of Schwangau and Fussen; there's various good museums in the latter. Tegelberg mountain has spectacular views also and can be reached by cable car from near to Schwangau. ||||Breakfast is excellent, with full cooked options (not just a 'continental' breakfast). Our room was a good size and well appointed, with a balcony view. The hotel was in excellent condition throughout. As with all Bavaria - you need to get to dinner by 7pm, wherever you dine. Kitchens close promptly at 8, which seemed to catch others out too (bar kitchen closed at 9:30). There's little to do in the evenings near the hotel, but after the day's activities you'll probably be ready for sleep anyway. Overall, a lovely, modern hotel with enough locally to spend 10 packed, enjoyable days. Note hotel parking is paid for, at 14 Euros a night.

The hotel is classy and elegant, and the location is amazing. It was a very short trip, but waking up in the morning with the view of the lake and the Alps it was beautiful and relaxing. I have to mention one employee of the hotel that was kind and welcoming, Hanni ( I hope I got his name right). He made our stay pleasant and we enjoyed seeing the way he was interacting daily with all the other guests with a big smile and ready to help anyone right away. Working in customer service myself I can appreciate and recognize a great employee and see he was genuine. We are planning to come back soon to enjoy the majestic scenery and the great breakfast Ameron has to offer.

Hello , Positives : -Room was very gorgeous ! Loved the castle and alps view plus they gave us exactly the room we asked for +++++ -We got a whole carton of decaf which was very sweet of housekeeping to provide - Staff was very sweet and accomodating . Especially the manager who called to help us look for plug adapters -The breakfast at Lisl and bar drinks are amazing ( special thanks to the bartenders for the espresso martinis ) -Clothed sauna area for people who don’t feel comfortable prancing around naked Cons : -The 3 course menu at Lisl was awful plus it was really annoying to deal with swatting flies at our table - The pool overcrowded with kids that splash you and accidentally hit you , making lots of noise -The balcony of our hotel room was filled with ash and bird poop -That the clothed sauna only has a dry sauna whereas the naked one has both wet and dry ones -No group yoga for the time of our stay We will definitely be coming back!

We had a moderately nice stay at this hotel for a recent holiday/ trip. The hotel itself is very nice and parking is convenient. Some staff were exceptional but many were certainly not which made enjoying the resort more difficult. The food at the bar was of poor quality. The breakfast rush is jarring so prepare for not-so relaxing mornings. Overall it is a pleasant enough place to stay in the area.

Right next to a beautiful lake, just steps from Hohenschwangau Castle and close to the bus to Neuschwanstein Castle. The facility is beautiful, while my Junior Suite on the Lake was one of the best room experiences I’ve had (just open the doors to the patio and enjoy cool air & beautiful lake views). The bathroom was very large and the shower area could easily fit the whole family. Breakfast was excellent, as was the Lisle Bar/Restaurant.

I had a fantastic stay at the Ameron Hotel. The location couldn’t have been better—just a short distance from Neuschwanstein Castle and right by the beautiful Alpsee. It made exploring the area incredibly easy and enjoyable. The hotel itself is very clean and modern, with thoughtful design and great attention to detail. Everything felt fresh and well-maintained. The breakfast was absolutely outstanding—plentiful, high-quality, and with a great variety to suit every taste. It really exceeded my expectations.Overall, I would strongly recommend Ameron Hotel to anyone visiting the area. Whether you’re here for the sights or just looking for a peaceful getaway, this place is a perfect choice

The location of this hotel is great. There can be a walk to some of the rooms as they are in a connected annex, the history and views available are absolutely amazing. The staff was welcoming and helpful, and the breakfast buffet was absolutely amazing. Able to use the sign up with a panoramic gym and sauna were also spectacular.

Imagine this, you want to take your partner on a well deserved break and you hope that the hotel costing €400 a night would deliver. Sadly not. ||The hotel operates a scam where you are forced to prepay for your room with no refund. I booked 4 nights here and left after 2. It was so bad, I spent another €700 returning back to the first hotel we stayed in Austria because they know how to deliver service and quality. ||Clearly this area is popular for those wishing to see the castles. By day, it resembles China Town and it’s a bit of a tourist trap, just like this hotel. ||Management clearly fail at this hotel as the reception staff are droids. They do not care and stand like robots. ||We checked into our room to find debris from previous guests and bugs everywhere. We were provided two small and thin towels, hardly luxury. Room service menu consisted of a salad or a burger, very disappointing. ||We didn’t sleep well the first night as the pillows provided are frankly useless and unsupportive. We had to drive the next day to the shop to buy pillows. The hotel doesn’t offer a laundry service but we found a laundrette in nearby Füssen. ||We had come to this hotel from the Straubinger at Bad Gastein, Austria. Beautiful coffee was served in decadent surroundings so it was a culture shock to have to work the coffee machine here. Everything involved a queue. Queue for this and queue for that. The scrambled egg was overcooked and hard and the bacon was greasy. This was food for the masses and not reflected in the high price point. ||However, despite the issues, the camel’s back was the lady collecting the plates each morning. She was forever dropping things on the floor but what she did next shocked us and forced us to leave. ||Imagine this, she is collecting your plate and there is an unpeeled hard boiled egg on the plate. She went to pick the plate up and the egg was rolling around. Now any sensible person would simply pick up the egg, but no, she placed the plate down back in front of my partner, picked up the hard boiled egg and smashed it down in front of her face. This was aggressive and shocking and after that we decided we were going to check out, losing €600.||Yes, it was that bad, we drove 4 hours back to our original hotel in Austria. ||My advice to anyone is do not stay at this hotel. This is 2 star at best.
