Can't believe this is only a 3 star hotel. So much better than some 5 star hotels in other cities. The room we were given was huge with views over the city palace and the lake palace. The pool area was lovely and the restaurant is right on the lake. We had dinner there one night and the food was very good. Breakfast is also served in the same area and there was a good choice of food although the only coffee was instant.

Went here for lunch. Food was very good and satisfying. The service was off to a rough start: Once seated we had to wait a while before someone would serve us. Then we were given a menu with a missing main-course-page. Finally a waiter came (unfortunately I don’t remember his name!) he was very helpful quick and polite. Gave us a new menu and made sure the rest of the stay was very pleasant. Before leaving we asked him to take a picture of us which he kindly did too.

The Amet Haveli is a truly special hotel in a truly special location, built on a small area of land that projects into Lake Pichola. The views from its charming lakeside restaurant are exceptional: looking east to the City Palace and buildings of the old city; south to the majestic Taj Lake Palace Hotel and the atmospheric Ambrai ghat. The food here is also very good - and well-priced for such a up-market hotel.||It is a beautiful heritage building, with the charm of classic C18 architecture and the convenience and style of a well-maintained and loved C21 hotel. The rooms are spotless and beautifully furnished and decorated. The staff are courteous and thoughtful; Alvin was an exemplary manager, checking to see we were well looked after; Nitin in the restaurant ensured that our breakfast and dinner services were smooth and efficient. Both were part of a professional team that make a stay at this hotel so memorable.||A special mention for the excellent hotel boat trip; a sunset voyage around the lake also ensured that our time in Udaipur, staying at the Amet Haveli, holds a very special place in our hearts of our time in Rajasthan.

We enjoyed a very clean, comfortable corner suite room with a balcony affording a wonderful lake view. Breakfasts were good with excellent dosas made to order. The restaurant was very popular for evening meals so if you wanted a lakeside table you had to agree to spend 4000 rupees… There was always an abundance of friendly and helpful staff .. often too many hovering. The hotel is ideally situated for walking to the city palaces easily. Our car was not allowed to drop us off at the hotel so a tuk tuk ride was needed to transport us from the drop off point. An experience in itself!! The tranquil setting of the hotel pool is a bonus although beware of mosquitos ! |A beautiful hotel to enjoy Udaipur.

This hotel is an absolute gem in Udaipur. We were lucky enough to have a room which was at water height, so had a fantastic view of the lake. The room also included reading areas next to the view. It was clean and comfortable and they cleaned it every day. ||The restaurant was amazing - lovely food, great cocktails and very friendly/helpful staff. Although you have to spend at least 4000 rupees to sit on a table nearest to the lake, it is not necessary as you have a lovely view from a couple of tables back anyway. ||The pool area was nice and relaxing after a busy day and not at all green as some of the reviews said. ||Would highly recommend!

We stopped by for lunch on the waterside restaurant. It is one my facourite spots in Udaipur. Impeccable service and good hospitality. Though staff may seem a bit cold initially, they warmed up and were quite jovial. Food was excellent. Views to die for. Access might prove to be a bit tricky with heavy traffic in narrow lanes, best going there in a local auto.|If you are planning just one classy and charming fine-dine meal in Udaipur it has to be here. It lacks the finesses of five stars that dot Udaipur map, but the experience here is authentic.

We are about to leave after a two night stay. We are generally happy yet agree this hotel is not of the same standard as others we have stayed in over the past two week holiday in Rajasthan. |Staff are all very good and keen to assist ( for a tip). The room is generally clean but for the collection of past guests hairs in the Velcro of the bed duvet🤮||Unlike every other hotel we have used on this trip in this one the mini bar in the room is empty, drinking water mostly in recycled jars, no bath robes or face cloths. ||The bed is comfortable and we have superb views over the lake, very impressive at night with all the lights opposite. ||Restaurant evening meals are good and reasonably priced. Breakfast is lacking in several ways, only instant coffee for instance.

The hotel is beautifully located right on the water and has lovely surrounding gardens, but we had two rooms and they were miles from each other and the internal phones didnt work. The rooms were very different, one overlooked the restaurant which was rather noisy. The situation is interesting though, right in the thick of the town, it has difficult access for a car, but perfect for roaming the streets at night.
