A quiet place in the heart of Chennai with lots of greenery which you would never expect. A cafe, bar, boutique and a pastry shop with outdoor and indoor seating this place has great ambience and amazing food. A very cozy place to catch up with friends or work. Must visit if you are in Chennai. Value for money with ample parking space.

Loved the place, quite ambience. Amazing food, a food way to explore so many dishes. Good staff, attention to details and recommending foods. The one things that I though was a bit challenging for me. The door much pads, the ones used to push the door open was all covered with something sticky. Know that feeling spiderman gets initially, well we all were there today.

Amethyst, Chennai is one of those places that instantly pulls you in. Set in what feels like an old colonial bungalow, surrounded by lush greenery and beautiful landscaping, it looks absolutely gorgeous. Part café, part high-end shopping space, it’s the kind of place you want to love. I was genuinely excited to try the food. We started with a cappuccino — unfortunately, it was quite bad and set the tone. I ordered the Eggs Benedict, which came on circular-cut toast instead of the usual base, and sadly, it just didn’t work. The flavours were just ok . My son’s waffles were so bad they had to be sent back, and the BLT we tried was as basic as it gets — nothing wrong, but nothing memorable either. The only real highlights were the iced tea (refreshing and well done) and the desserts. The red velvet cupcake and burnt cheesecake were genuinely good and probably the best things we had. Verdict? Go to Amethyst for the ambience, the greenery, and maybe a leisurely iced tea and dessert. But if you’re going for a proper meal, I’d honestly skip the food.

Atmosphere and outdoor ambience is great to chill and hangout. Food quality is not that great. Not worth for the price definitely. I guess they price it for the ambience. If you are going for the food, definitely not recommend.

A world of its own.... right in the center of the city, the greenery does floor you, the moment you walk in. Regular here for more than a decade, this place never disappoints. Bangers and mash and of late their Indian addition to the menu is really a must try. The decor is tastefully done and very English in style. The old world charm is everywhere from the furniture to the gardens.

Visited this café today. The ambience is beautiful and gives a nice vibe, though it was a little warm inside. The food was average. The sandwich I ordered was quite bland and honestly not worth the 400 bucks. On the positive side, the cold coffee was really good and well made. It’s a nice spot to sit and relax, but the food quality and pricing could definitely be improved

We recently visited Amethyst Café and absolutely loved the ambience — it’s calm, beautiful, and very pleasant. However, the service was extremely disappointing. We waited nearly 30 minutes just to receive the menu, as no staff were around. We had to get up and approach the service staff two to three times ourselves to request it. The food was good, nothing exceptional, but the poor service really affected the overall experience. With such a lovely atmosphere, the café has great potential, but the service definitely needs significant improvement.

Must visit if you are in chennai. You can get in through Mount road as well as through whites road. Ample parking facility available. It’s a cafe and a botique with outstanding unique collection especially for women. The service is fast and efficient and the quality of food is excellent. Highly recommend from my side. I always drop by when I am in chennai
