A few years ago, I went to Amici's in the Hammocks. I meant to return and never did. Imagine my surprise then at learning that they had a second location in Miramar.
Last Friday night, prior to the coronavirus situation slowly overtaking our lives, my boyfriend and I passed by for dine in. It was relatively empty as people slowly began to stay indoors. Going in, there must have been two or three other tables with patrons. We easily went in and claimed a booth for ourselves.
Our server attended us and presented us with menus that resembled books. As we looked over them, I noticed they had ginger ale, and so, I ordered one to drink. We finally settled on some appetizers: bruschetta and garlic bread. I believe that the garlic bread was complimentary, but I don't particularly remember.
The bruschetta consisted of four large pieces of toasted bread with freshly cut tomato, glazed in lovely balsamic vinegar. These pieces were to die for! They opened up appetites, but more so, they felt satisfying. They were generous portions of savory food. I was, in fact, ecstatic when my boyfriend didn't eat his second piece and gave it to me willingly.
As for the garlic bread, we were presented with two rolls of garlic goodness. They were ample-sized and perfect for multiple bites. I do have to say, though, that while delicious, this may not be something you should overdo it on. At least not on a date night. Garlic can deter the romance, just saying.
For our main dishes, my boyfriend ordered a custom-made pizza with pepperoni and sausage. He ate a few slices and took the rest home. Me? Well, I had a filled pasta. The spinach ravioli, of course! The pieces of ravioli were bigger than I remembered and they were filled to the brim. On top of this, you had plenty of tomato sauce and gooey cheese, so this made me a happy camper. More so the fact that I ended up with leftovers contributed.
I'm beyond thrilled to know this location exists. This one is way closer to me than the one in the Hammocks. Not sure if given the situation they're still doing take-out or not, but I'll definitely inquire. Just remembering last Friday's meal is making me crave it.
