A Backpacker-Friendly Guesthouse! I had a great stay with Anton in Sengkang. He was incredibly helpful in organizing my transfer to Bira and even arranged a boat trip to Lake Tempe, which was a fantastic experience. The hospitality was warm and welcoming, and the room was clean and comfortable, right in the center of town — perfect for exploring. Anton speaks good English, which made communication super easy. You can contact him directly via WhatsApp, which is very convenient. Highly recommended for backpackers and independent travelers!

We booked via WhatsApp (you can't find this accommodation on booking) so didn't really know what room we would get. But we ended up with 2 rooms and a private living area. Perfect for us as a family of 4. The living room doesn't have air conditioning or a fan, but the bedrooms do. The bathroom is outside, but it's a private one. The owner speaks good English and was a very good host. I recommend this place.

Amira Guesthouse is a great place to stay. It offers convenient rooms with sitcoms and as we booked two rooms we got the whole 2nd floor for ourselves. The owner Anton. He is a great guy. He helped us with al of our questions, knows everyone and everything and nothing is too much trouble. We enjoyed breakfast including some extra Indonesian specialities. Anton made sure we had everything we could want. Thoroughly recommended!

I had an excellent stay at Amira. Bed was great, WiFi good rooms, large and clean with an excellent breakfast. Anton is a TOP host, speaks English and is eager to help.

we stayed two nights in this lovely guesthouse of Anton! very comfy beds, nice breakfast and a host who helps you with everything :-) can only recommend this guesthouse to anyone! (we also enjoyed the tour with Alu a lot, ask Anton about it, if you are interested in visiting the floating houses!)

Anton is an amazing host. Extremely helpful and knowledgable, he speaks perfect English. We had some very interesting chats. The room is nice, especially the large communal area with huge and comfy sofas 😊 I would definitely go back again!

It's a very good place to stay in Sengkang and the owner is the best. He helps you with everything and he arranges all tours you need. He took us around the lake where the floating houses are and guided the visit to silk affairs. He helped us with the transportation to Toraja and he is really nice. He speaks good English and he likes to talk to you, he's very clever and knows a lot of local culture and of all over the world. Thanks Anton, we'll miss you!!!
