Ammarnäsgården fjällhotell och vandrarhem

Everything is out of date, old and a bit meh. Hotelroom has really moldy bathrooms. Bed sheets are dirty and super thin. Service/management is kind but very confused. Communication between them is really bad. They forgot to wash our clothes, found out when I asked to have it back. Also everything needs to be payed for extra and it is really pricy. Wanna wash some cloths? - That’s 150SEK extra. Wanna use the pool? - That’s 200. Food was good. Breakfast included, dinner is not.

Highly overpriced, not recommended. We paid 1750 SEK for a double room (after ringing the bell for ten minutes at a deserted reception). The room essentially was what you'd expect from a 2-star standard, but not at this price. The bathroom was primitive and not clean. Can't say anything bad about the breakfast, though. All in all, this Hotel can only exist because of a lack of competition in this remote location, exploiting a monopoly status whilst bad management is written all over it.

A brilliant place to stay! I extended my stay here another night because the staff were incredibly friendly. I got to go fishing and shown around the village. Far better and cheaper than the Wärdhus. Cannot recommend enough. Food was great and the sauna was even better. I will be back when I come to Ammarnäs next!

Significantly too expensive. Paid 950 SEK and expected the usual hotel standard. But this hotel is more like an STF Vandrarhem. Tiny bathrooms. Rooms need to be renovated. The evening meals were also overpriced. Stay at the STF vandrarhem instead.

Service in the restaurant is not good. We came and asked for a table. The restaurant was empty but they said it was fully booked. We made a reservation by phone and came back to eat.The food was correct but we were told only hamburgers were available. And then came other people who were able to get other food... It is the only choice on site but it's not a good one. If you are looking for a restaurant....don't expect to find one in Ammarnas

What a depressing place to stay. The sink in the bathroom had yellow scum marks, the tap didn't turn off fully, and the shower floor looked filthy. We had a look at the hostel too and it was worse. Would not stay again. Relocating to Ammarnäs Wardshus which is close by. A bit more expensive, but the room is 3 times the size (we did get lucky getting a larger room) and very clean. I gave 2 stars as the breakfast was good.
