We spent 6 nights in Chiang Mai and this hotel was an awesome location. We originally booked for 4 and were going to move locations but it was so great we booked 2 more nights. The price was very good in October, I think $60 a night. We had a king room where two twins were pushed together and the room was very large with plenty of space. It was very easy to get around from the hotel and the staff were very kind. They helped us book a couple of last minute excursions. I had a lovely massage at the spa too. The pool area was nice and is in the shade most of the day so the water stayed cool. We didn't realize how to work the AC the first couple of nights so it was hot but when we went to the front desk they sent someone right up and got it working for us.

My experience here was good. The hotel entrance looks grand and the lobby is lavish. The rooms are old but still no issue occurred because of it. It was tidy. The best part is the location of the property. It is extremely close to the Tapae Gate and the street outside is also good. I requested early check-in but did not get it since they said they had no free rooms so I had to wait for hours to get mine. The guy who has the luggage responsibility is really hospitable and nice. Conclusion: It is a good decision to stay here if you want to explore Old Town.

The hotel is wonderfully situated in the old city and is therefore convenient to all that the old city has to offer. The foyer is really impressive and I hope that some attention is paid to the rooms in time as they are looking a bit tired. The view from my room was delightful however, looking over the moat and the old city to the hills. The staff are wonderful and I'd like to make special note of the outstanding service provided by Grace. Grace is very attentive and helpful, and does it all with a friendly smile and a genuine desire to be responsive to guest's needs at all times. Grace is a real asset for your hotel.

I was here for 4 days and loved it. Request a high floor for amazing views. Location is great for being by Sunday market and the famous gate. Easy to get around from here as the hotel is on a main road. The staff were super nice to me and Gung at the front door is a kind man, very friendly and helpful. I speak with him pretty much everyday and he help with taxi and was always genuinely interested see how I was doing where I go and how I liked my experience. What a star to greet you at the door. I would stay here again 100%. Did not book with breakfast but you can get food about 2 min walk away

This hotel really needs a renovation. The lobby is deceiving in relation to the rooms and facilities. The room was rundown and could use some paint. The little balcony where the aircon unit is was full of bird poop. There were stains everywhere on the walls. The breakfast was bad, if you go at 9:30/10 the warm food is all cold, and the quality is just not good. It is an affordable hotel but it should have 3 stars instead of 4.

Great Stay at Amora Tapae Hotel I really enjoyed my stay at Amora Tapae Hotel. The location is perfect, just near Tha Phae Gate. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel when visiting Chiang Mai!

Good location , near old town gate. However i dont think this hotel deserve even a 3 star rating. Stupid bed frame was protruding out n caused me to knock into it and injured myself. The furniture have lots of dirty stains and dusty. Once I saw the cleaning staff outside cleaning another room and requested to change my towel that I just used. She rejected my request with a black face. Last place to expect this especially in the land of smiles. Security in hotel needs upgrading. No need to scan hotel card to go up the room, and yet hard to access my room with room card. The view was marred by lots of pigeon shit outside the window...

I absolutely loved our stay at this hotel. Our room overlooked the river, and there was something truly magical about sitting by the window, sipping coffee, and watching the world drift by. During the day, it's the perfect spot for people-watching; at night, the view becomes even more magical 🪄✨. Last night, it rained--and let me tell you, sitting there by the window with the soft glow of the streetlamp and the sound of raindrops falling felt like a scene straight out of Paris. It was quiet, romantic, and just.. dreamy. The space itself is generous and well-designed, with great attention to cleanliness. The housekeeping team does a fantastic job. Overall, this place gave me a sense of calm and beauty. I am coming back here.
