Ampersand Bakehouse

I stopped by here as the cupcakes and drinks menu outside caught my eye. I’m so glad I popped in. I would recommend coming earlier in the day as they sell out fast! Firstly, the bakehouse itself is cutely decorated and has lovely pastries on display. The lady working the counter was beyond sweet and so wonderful to talk to! The pastries themselves were AMAZING. I got myself the vanilla cupcake, which had the dreamiest buttercream frosting. The cupcake itself was so light and fluffy. I got my sister the mocha cupcake, which was also a 10/10 according to her! Each cupcake was lovingly packed in an individual plastic cupcake-holder. I also got the Blue Lemonade, which was tart and fresh. I highly recommend this local bakehouse on the Danforth. I can’t wait to come back and try some more cupcakes!

I wanted some cupcakes as treat and was extremely happy with our choices. We got a lavender type cupcake and a pumpkin spice type. Wow! We’re not normally fans of those flavour profiles but we’re were pleasantly surprised. They were lovely. The flavour was there but it wasn’t overwhelming. The cake was moist and soft. The sprinkles we think are made in house? - if they are, amazing. We don’t normally like sprinkles either but these were identical to the frosting. So sweet but very refined. Excellent offerings and we will be back, if you read this you should give this local spot a try and enjoy!

I ordered cupcakes for my son's second birthday and they were perfection! The icing is soooooo good and the cake is just delicious! Stephanie was very accommodating and helpful in arranging my order. Highly recommend her cupcakes for your next celebration!!

We celebrated my daughter’s first birthday at Ampersand Bakehouse, and it was absolutely perfect! Stephanie was incredibly accommodating and a pleasure to work with, making the planning process seamless. The cupcakes and smash cake were adorable. The existing décor was exactly what we were looking for, and the few decorations we brought blended beautifully. We especially appreciated the thoughtful touches, like the kid-friendly toys and a floor mat for babies to crawl and play on—it made the space feel so welcoming for little ones. Our guests had a great time and had lots of positive feedback. I would highly recommend Ampersand Bakehouse for any young child’s birthday celebration!

I love popping into Ampersand with my kiddo! The coffee’s good, the treats (I love their cinnamon apple scones, vanilla sprinkle cupcakes and basically all their cookies) are even better and I can relax while my kid plays with the toy train set. Even better is their recent addition of stocking romance books! I bought a couple as gifts and can’t wait to go back to get myself some new books. I also just ordered their holiday cookie box (see pic) and the cookies were a hit with my relatives. Ampersand is a gem!

I had a great experience here buying frozen gluten free cupcakes for my sons birthday this past weekend. They were SO delicious, my non gluten free husband said it was very good, moist, couldn’t even tell it was GF. And my GF friends also enjoyed them. So good I forgot to take a picture!! Next time :)

Highly recommend Ampersand. I was already a big fan of their cookies, but we ordered two dozen cupcakes for my son’s first birthday party and could not have been happier. Seamless delivery, perfect presentation and the flavours (vanilla, chocolate, cookies and creme and pumpkin spice) were out of this world delicious. Not a crumb was left!!

Absolutely outstanding! We ordered a single tier cake and a bunch of cupcakes for our wedding and everything turned out perfectly! All our guests were raving about how good the cupcakes were. Working with Stephanie was so easy and she understood exactly what we were looking for.

Got a delicious cookie here, rich in chocolate and not too sweet. Excellent service as well. Will definitely return to try their cupcakes and some other cookies!

Really strange hours for a bakery (only Open for lunch it seems?) so was very difficult to actually buy anything from them when they are open. Tried the donuts for $5 each and unfortunately they were pretty dry. Hopefully they improve the experience for their customers or I don't think it will be open very long.

Unfortunately can't recommend. I purchased a "donut" that was very dry and bland and the staff seemed annoyed I was bothering them with an order. The hours are also very weird, it seems more like somebody's hobby pop-up than a proper bakery. Would not return.

I love the stacked donuts! We got the vanilla and strawberry shortcake flavours which were so delicious. They taste best at room temperature. Try them out! You won't be disappointed:)

Just moved to the area and thought this was a local cafe but it's more of a "instagram cookie" kind of thing. Pretty pricey and meh experience over all.

Very strange hours and next to many other established community bakeries. Latte was subpar and service was cold. Do not recommend.

They have a great little walk up window that's perfect for these Covid times. Delicious cupcakes and baked goods and a selection of drinks!

Such a cute little shop with a convenient window! Everything I've tried has been great, and can't wait to try more tasty Christmas treats! So happy to have in my neighbourhood, a real gem!
